Had a good think and I really like the idea of a, Yes I could have had a mad power nuts magic blasting PC, but it seems fun to have an LE Android
Core Monk

In face here is His alt, He is Lawful evil because he sees all you fleshy types as needing discipline and in need of to be lead by Overlords who have the will and strength to rule you with an Iron fist.

How long is recruitment open? I have been way more swamped with things this week. I should be able to crank a guy out at work today. I have only war game tonight.

Almost done with my Duegar Monk(Gray Disciple). Should be an interesting character. Don't think I have ever seen anyone play a duegar before. Should have something up later today.

Also GM, Just doing back ground in word for him now.

Description & Personality:

Personality

Brother Attaruss understands your pain, he really do's he knows how the body works and how organics gain feeling from there extremity's. He can see the wetness in your eyes, and the pain has an impact. He can make a guess at the feelings that may be going through your mind as you take your last breath, the blood seeping put of you and you oxygen levels fall to a point where your organic brain stops working. He can understand all that, what he can't do is feel what you feel, empathize in any way at all other than on an abstract level. He can copy feelings, he can mimic the facial expressions and voice tones of Emotion, he just dos not feel them at all.

Attaruss is matriculates, contemplative, even seemingly understanding. He has fine manners and will always act with respect even up-to the point of your death. He will smile as he slips the blade into you heart.

He looks human yet not. His clothing is simple and he carry's a small strap bag. In the dark his eyes glow a faint yellow.

@Johnny...Panic: Unfortunately I an disallowing both the kitsune and and android races in this game, as this is not based in Golarion and I do not think they fit the flavor of the Lost lands. Feel free to rework Brother Attaruss as a human or other race.

Arlok "The Mighty"

All ready to go. Look forward to seclection. I am a very loyal poster. I am in 9 games on here with half being over 1 to almost 3 years old. Thanks for the consideration.

Backstory:

The coming of Arlok was said to be foretold. The Arch-Devil Baalzebul was set to see Orcus fall. He was instrumental in the forging of the Demonbane, but through divination he knew this was not enough. His subordinates foretold of a prophecy, one that would sway the balance to defeat Orcus. Baalzebul was to father a son. One who’s destiny was to rise to the power of a god. It would be this boy with the Arch-Devils blood that would tip the scales. This is how Arlok came to be. Now ready Arlok has become part of the infernal forces. He will be the infernal champion and throw down Orcus. He will rise to surpass and become a god in his own right, but first he has been given the mission to conquer and secure the dungeon Rappan Athuk. He has been groomed and trained for what is to come. He finds himself now assigned with others who’s destiny entwines with his own. He will need to learn to work with these allies. Together they will see Orcus fall.

Ok, may I present Vargrenz - Duergar Monk(Gray Disciple).

Sorry about the length of the background. Always takes some work to fit a non-standard race into a semi-normal world.

I'll flesh out Brok's background and personality today.

Brief Gretta History:

Spoiler:

Ok so maybe she wasn't as burly and strong as her male counterparts... she was just as tough, and a lot quicker. And she was as good a bow shot as anyone in the tribe. Her grandmother always said that battles were often won before the first blade was drawn, and she had found that a quick unexpected arrow to the eye took the fight right out of most enemies. So she did her time, behind the skirmish lines, and in advance of the main troops. Enough to earn a reputation, and a bit of gold... but she would never move up far enough in society due to being female.

Maybe it was time to try some things out on her own. When the call went out for help against the demons of Rappan Athuk, she ran to be first in line. Every group needs someone to deal out silent death from afar. She was sure she would be chosen.

Gretta is a feminist Hobgoblin warrior, with a fairly large chip on her shoulder. She is probably the most superstitious humanoid on the planet, and is always finding omens and strange traditions to fit any situation... (Even if she has to make some of them up). Watching her prepare herself for a battle or even a night of carousing is an adventure in itself.

OK first I need to eat an apple with a worm, and chew it exactly 14 times before swallowing, then I need to find a moth and remove it's wings and hold it in a candles flame till it is crisp and throw it over my left shoulder. Then...

Silver Crusade

Do not try to pleaded with her, or look to her good side, she has none.

Looks
Rosa is striking in looks, other worldly odd looks, disturbing looks. Her skin is metallic white, her fine white metallic sliver hair that always seems to be moving, her body gives off a cold haze even on the hotted sad. She is very tall (7'4"), age wise she looks around 30, she has horns but no tail. She will never pass of any thing but Hell Spawn. Rosa She walks with grace and pride, and always keeps herself clean and well kept. Her metallic silver eyes and seem to look beyond, cold unfeeling eyes. Her clothing is fine, she holds a great black sword in her hands.

Back story:

Rosa remembers a time of rooms and play, in the house of her farther, there Nana would look after her and tell her story’s of the world outside. Rosa knew she could not go out, it was a bad thing and if ever her father found her close to a door or shaded window, he was be very angry. Life was sunbeams for shuttered windows, play and sleep. The servants had a party for her, and nana gave her a new dress, rosa had just put it on when her Farther game. He told nana he needed rosa to come to his work shop and that she had to stay, nana was very upset, but Rosa went with her Farther. The room was big and Rosa looked at all the books and bottles. A strange Pattan had been made in the middle of the work area floor. Some thing was there, a monster, Rosa was not scared she had seen her father with Monsters before. Monster Held out its hand, “You come with me now” it said, Rosa looked at her Farther who just nodded, Rosa held her hand out, the Monster smiled, “The deal is done, you have want you wanted “ there was a flash and Rosa was in a hot place, all around Monster walked and worked, The one holding her hand held out a metal collar he placed around her neck. “You is slave now, you work here, carry and do fast or pain” he placed a drinking jug in her hands and her mind fogged over. Time passed, she worked with others like her in a great tent made of skin and bone. Sleep, eat work, if she was slow hes was crushed under foot, to awake the next day in the blood pits, Her body whole once more to be sent back to work carrying food and drink to the Monsters.
The tent moved, as its owner the lord of hell willed and she with it, she never once looked outside the tent, she knew only work, pain and sleep.
Then came the time of a fight, another slave, a new one was being slow, if he was not faster she and he would be crushed, he would not move more or let her past, so with one swing she smashed he head in and walked over his body to the tables. The Monsters seem to think this was funny, one of them picked Rosa up in its clawed hand, “Fine one this, she has fire in her, you wast such fire in slave, place her in the army she will do well.” With that he broke her neck. When she came to she was in a blood pit she had never seen before, it was a cell and standing over it was a Monster holding large knifes. There was others around her, “worms you are mine, so heed me well, lean to fight and die well and I may let you live again, you will fight and you will die, each time as our lord wills and you will do so no matter what” with that he throw the Knifes into the pit. "Last one standing gets out". Rosa did not win that day or the next, but soon she did and in doing so joined the ranks of hell's army. There she became fodder fight and die in endless wars.

Time passed, then came to time of the sword.

She and others had been sent to frontal attack a Devil,

“You will charge at it all of you and keep it distracted while and agent of our master deals with it, most if not all of you will be sent back to the blood pits and death, this is what you are meant to do, Now go and die has our lord wills”

They ran over the hill and down to the waiting Devil, they died, its grate hammer smashing them while it tail flicked from side to side. Rosa was hit and thrown next to a rock, there she waited for death.

But as she lay dying she had time to see a shape move up behind the Devil, now eating some of her fellow dead. The Shape held in its hands a huge black and red sword, Then it moved to smite the Devil, but somehow it gave its place away, the devil move so fast she could not see, spinning it held in its hand a small bird.

“Do you think you could get me like that hell hound”

The small thing In its hands screamed and the one with the sword stopped dead.

Why is he not moving

Rose thought, and then she could see, he had become stone.

“Silly little hell hound”,

the devil said,

“he should know better than to send the likes of you, such and insult,”

then its head high it screamed

“if he wants ME! He can come himself”

with one move of its tail it smashed Stone form.

Rosa closed her eyes as the rubble fell around her, she could hear the Devil had gone back to its meal. When she opened her eyes again, the pain was grater, but she could also see that the hounds sword had fallen by her side. She looked at it, it was a work of art, the runes on it seemed to flow and shift, so pretty, slowly she moved her hand to touch them.

“Arr”

a voice said in her head

“who do we have her, weak and small but there is room for improvement, you are one with a soul, but life yet, you must do”

They found her 2 days later, Still holding the Sword in the Back of the Dead Devil.

"This one is mine now"

Said the sword

"Make her whole once more and send her for Hound Training, she is to be sent back!!!"

This is how Rosa's life as a hound of Hell Started, Her time on the prime has been hard but if her masters will she shall prevail.

Short Story:

INT Day, small shack in the woods

Wise old man of the woods

An old man in rags looks at some white animal bones on the floor, studding the runes on them. The shack was graveyard of dead animals.

"The bones do no lie, evil is at work here"

Tall man in better then average peasant clothing.

Village elder

"what kind?"

Wise old man of the woods

"Do you know the hell's have hounds, not dogs mind you, no living beings they use as sniff out what has got away"

Village elder

"What are you talking about, I asked you about the strange woman in our inn"

Wise old man of the woods

"They are one in the same, Evil that is what I am talking about, Hound of hell here on the prime, seeking to bring back what has run away's."

Village elder
(Looking a little worried now)

"Go on"

Wise old man of the woods
(an evil grin on his face now)

"That thing, in the Inn, It seeks, it will never stop, it has no pity or compassion. Ruthless it will do its masters bidding, hunt down what they seeks until the end of time. You cross it an there will be hell to pay."

Village elder

"So what do we do, humm run, fight what?"

Wise old man of the woods
Standing

"Simple, keep out of its bloody way, Let it take what its after and it will go, best advice I can give you, now where is my silver bits."

Ext Small woodland farm.

Rosa stood looking at the small barn, Behind her a building burned, There had been two brothers inside, hidden hate had driven one to seek dark magic to strike down the other. Both dead now, it has taken a while but she needed one to confess. It had been the second who was the sinner. The barn was old, Inside was a thing had been born wrong, rotten and dark, tainted with a thing from hell. A local witch and cast a spell that had called something that should not be here. Rosa picked up her long black blade and walked to the building. Time to send it back, the laws of hell where absolute, it was time for Hell's justice and her to do her duty, Asmodeus demanded it.

As long as it is permitted, I would like to add the Trapsmith archetype to my profile.
Wow! Lots of high rolls appearing at the last minute.

Variant Tiefling Abilities, roll 3 pick 1.
So

1d100 ⇒ 43
Your fiendish sorcery ability treats your Charisma as if it were 3 points higher instead of 2.
1d100 ⇒ 18
You gain DR 2/bludgeoning.
1d100 ⇒ 47
You can use curse water three times per day as a spell-like ability.

Ooo nice, DR 2/bludgeoning, fits with her metallic skin.

Note Change of sub race to
Race - Tiefling Devil-Spawn (Hellspawn) LN

Ok, bit of coin left but she is all done.

With the rolls she got, I think she may be also the hardest fighter we got.

The Attack:

They hit the camp with fire, that was a mistake, Rosa signed on as a craven Guard, the trip was simple, go from here to there with goods, keep them safe. The had pulled up after a sand storm and to find some lost traders and bedded down for the night. Just bad luck bandits where close, they had come in and flung burning oil on the tents. Dumb, they would burn as much as they could steal. Rosa got to her feet, her tent was on fire and others where rushing outside, She stayed. The Fire did not bother her, in fact she liked it. Taking her sword up she looked past the flames to the bandits outside.

"Well best get this started"

At the top of her voice she screamed,

"BLOOD AND SOULS FOR MY LORD ASMODEUS"

Her 7'4" burst out of the burning tent and ran at a bandit, he did not even have time to lift his blade before she sword cut up would and split his jaw then fact in half, he fell blinded and bleeding out. Another ran at her, she let go her sword and point her hand at him. The fire ball left her hand and exploded on his chest. he Screamed at the flames. She did not stop turning she headed to the center of the fighting. A mass of about 12 men in a pitched fight, and sling stone hit her face but bounced off her metallic skin. It did not slow her, three more steps and she was in the center of the fight. That is when she let her master power out, in a moment a wave of evil energy and heat hit all around her. Some screamed as they bust into flames other fell back at it pule. She stood in the center of it all, holding a great sword ready. Then two of her stood.

"DROP YOUR WEAPONS OR YOU WILL ALL DIE!"

The fighting slowed then petted out as they looked at the She Devil in their mist. A few men where calling out in pain.

"Good, now lets talk, we want safe passage, you know the way, you can redeem your sleves buy showing us."

A flick of the sword and a bandit burning next to her was put out of his misery, or would you like more fire.

Brok's Background:

Brok Nunnelnoggin - background

Male Goblin Ranger (dungeon rover/trapper) – more of a scout / trapfinder than primary combatant at this point. Good at: perception, stealth, climbing, and disable device. He’ll eventually acquire an animal/vermin companion that will serve as more of a combatant.

Hunter, tracker, and scout from the Black Chasm tribe.

He doesn’t know much of anything about the world above or its animals and plants, but he is fairly knowledgeable about the underdark and its weird vermin and fungi.

While most of his tribe and their slaves make their living from digging black rock from the depths of Black Chasm, Brok and his mates from the Nunnelnoggin clan preferred to keep the tribe’s larders full by hunting in the caves.

4 months ago their hunting party stumbled upon a freshly dug burrow that led to a previously undiscovered set of tunnels. While exploring they were set upon by a pack of pasty subterranean ghouls that killed or carried off most of Brok’s mates.

Since the battle with the undead corpse eaters, Brok’s tribal elders have been worried about the encroachment of the undead and looking for allies to help keep their tribe safe.

Here is Tae, the submission for markofbane.

She is a NE changeling cleric of Kunulo. Her stat block and background are in her profile.

Thanks!

O three Clerics to pick from, Inquisitors, Oracles lot of divine magic uses on offer for this game, nice to see for a change.

I know I'm low on time but I'm dotting to see if I can find time in the next 2.5 5.5 hours yay different time zones to put together a pitch...

rolls:

4d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 2, 3) = 11 [10]
4d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 4, 2) = 10 [9]
4d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 1, 4) = 9 [8]
4d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 1, 2) = 13 [12]
4d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 4, 1) = 12 [11]
4d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 6, 2) = 16 [14]
rocking the 5 point buy, excellent

Whelp, the dice gods have spoken... Have fun people with viable characters.
I guess the upside is now I don't have to rush to build anything

Whelp, the dice gods have spoken... Have fun people with viable characters.

What's the better story:

One day a handsome and strong and brilliant hero delved into a dungeon and defeated the evil lich.

One day a boy delved into a dungeon, weak and unskilled, no one knows whether he defeated the evil lich or not, but legends still speak of his bravery.

I think if you risk the dice and fail, you should run with it! Think of the story you can tell!

one normal boy doing something brave or accomplishing something grand is a great story... one completely unextraordinary person getting carried through an adventure by 3-4 truly remarkable people? not so much...

a party all built on a 5 point buy (which is what I rolled) could be pretty cool/interesting, but making a 5 point character to potentially be paired with a 40-50 point character (which I saw a few of) seems like little more than a recipe for frustration for everyone...

I agree, a 5 point buy is a tough pill to swallow. But the idea of a 5 point party does sound interesting. Trouble is, would there be enough players out there who would want to play in such an AP? And would 3-4 un-extraordinary players be enough to complete it?

I think 4 characters built on a 5 point buy could probably finish most APs... actually, I'm pretty certain they could: 4 summoners could probably do it fairly easily, and the point buy has very little effect on them. But baring that kind of Tom foolery, I think with good players who are willing to build characters together, think strategically, and cooperate you could probably do it. It would be a challenge for sure...

If anyone wants to try let me know, lol.

This is sarpadian's eleventh-hour submission.

5 point buy Pathfinder in hard mode. Actually, I think I might want to run a short dungeon delve doing just that. Put my money where my mouth is ;). Maybe after my current recruitment is over. Which, btw, if want to rick the dice again feel free to apply ;) The Tomb of Caragthax. It's basically a teeny tiny Rappan Athuk ^.^

My character certainly can't do as much as others here, but I think it'll be fun running around, trying to survive and talking s!&! until I die lol.

OK...

Recruitment is now officially CLOSED!

Before I get to the process of evaluating all of your submissions, I just want to thank everyone who took the time to create a character for me. It is much appreciated! I wish I could have ALL of you in this game, as all of you have put in some fine character submissions! Even if I do not pick you, I know some other DM out there would be well pleased with your character, no doubt about it!

I will take a couple of days to go through the character profiles and make my final determination by no later than Monday.

Stay tuned here...

Thanking you in advance to taking the time. I look forward to seeing the results!

Thank you GM, its good to have a GM that takes to the time to say this.
It was a joy making Rosa even if she dos not get a slot.

:)

Man I feel like everyone's characters are better than mine....

No matter who gets picked, this is gonna be good. Good luck to everyone!

Dark Archive

Until Monday, I bid you all adieu

Move along, nothing to see here:

Nice rolls, but you're a little late...

FYI, Albion is here by my blessings, he he.

OK, my apologies for taking so long to figure out who to pick for this game. It was a TOUGH decision to decide who to pick. At first I was going to limit this to six players, but after narrowing the submissions list to eight characters I could not decide who to cut further.

Then I realized something...this is RAPPAN ATHUK, the Dungeon of Graves! You are going to need all the help you can get, he he.

So, without further ado, here are the EIGHT players who have been summoned...err...invited to take on Orcus and his minions:

1) Isinghar Thorden: Raaz Al'Zuul, Male Tiefling Cleric (Fiendish Vessel) of Baalzebul.

For those of you who I selected, Congratulations! (I think...) Please post in the Discussion Thread to confirm you are still interested.

For those of you qho I did not pick, my sincere apologies. I wish I could pick all of you to play in my game but, alas, it is just not possible. I would stick around and keep an eye on this thread in case any of the selected players do not show up.

Thank you all for taking an interest in this game, and taking time to put forth characters as well. If I do not run into you in another game, then Happy Gaming!

Eric.

Thanks for the list GM, it was good to make a PC
And I would love to be at the top of the reserve list if there is such a thing.

Sovereign Court

Thanks for your consideration. I know it is tough deciding, especially with so many great choices.

Khazul will be standing by when the inevitable happens and Rappan Athuk starts claiming its victims.

I'll make an alias for Brok and post in discussion.
