ETA: Map is fine, once I delete the spurious space in "sharin g"
I don't understand why it's not working. :(
Both of you will have to use the guidelines I have given before. I'll see about fixing this, although with Birthright.net down, I can't give you all the feats the BR team -- which includes me, although I worked on flavor text -- had worked on.
Oh, sorted it out. There's another spurious space, this one between "s55 vEB"; if you take it out, it comes up.

1. Strength 14 (5), Dexterity 14 (2), Constitution 12 (5), Intelligence 18 (10), Wisdom 10 (0), Charisma 14 (5), and Bloodline 13 (3). Double your blood score and this will be your Bloodline = 26. Is taking a Minor bloodline another feat? If yes, I think you need to give non-regents bonus feats to compensate.
2. Elf, alternate racial trait: Arcane Focus
3. Magus
4. Sielwode
6. Magical Lineage and Trustworthy
7. Regents get bodyguards. Magus are more martial than wizards. Can he get a number of bodyguards like paladins?
8. Human regents may get the Leadership feat at level 1, non-Human regents don't have enough feats.
9. Regents must spend a feat to collect Regency from a holding other than a province holding: Regency of law.
10. Arcane regents receive a number of starting Realm Spells equal to their bonus in Knowledge: Arcana +8.
All skills: 2+4 Int +1 Favored Class ranks
(1) Diplomacy +7 (Trustworthy)
(1) Knowledge (arcana) +8
(1) Knowledge (law) +8
(1) Lead +3 (class skill?) (Do you want to add Lead to Intimidate?)
(1) Perception +3 (Keen Senses)
(1) Spellcraft +8
(1) Warcraft +5 (class skill?)

Q. A. 10 Sorry, should have stayed with ranks. I should have said 1d3 realm spells, it was more balanced.
Skills-> Lead isn't a class skill for Magi, but Warcraft is.
Equipment ->
--> Yes, please. I would like a backstory on your character.
--> The Sielwode's design is on page 69. You get the same army load out as Taurhieval.

Ok..got it to open, but it stops at Skills and Feats...is this right?
Looking to play a Human rogue (merchant prince) based in Endier. How does that sound? Am I cutting into anyone else's build? Hope not :-)
Will work out the crunch in a bit...
Yes, that's right. I'm waiting for Birthright.net to get back up.
Jubal Breakbottle
1. I would suggest that you take another look at folding Lead into Intimidate. IMHO, Intimidate is the closest skill in Pathfinder for making someone do something using the chain of command. Skill proliferation is the bane of fighters.
2. Equipment? OK how much? How can regents borrow from the treasury? Shouldn't their predecessors had some old equipment? You wouldn't want a regent less equipped than his guards. Plus, they should at least get a noble's outfit and signet ring.
3. In my book, the Sielwode's holding levels are unknown. Is yours different?
4. Any comments on bodyguards? Shouldn't Magi be similar to Paladin? Magi are martial-arcane while paladin are martial-divine.
5. Can you confirm that the blood strength feat is a bonus? Should I roll for blood abilities?
6. Can you put your link to the google.doc on the campaign info tab?
7. Would you be open to rolling bloodline scores and give the option to take the result OR point buy?
8. Please don't forget to add some of these answers to your campaign tab, so future players don't ask you the same questions.
cheers

Q1. A. Leading is different than intimidation. Moses, Joshua, Solon, Buddha, and Jesus proved this (many historical personalities also proved this, but all leaders used Intimidate at one time or another). So, no, I'm not rolling it into Intimidate -- Lead is a different skill.
Q2. A. You roll normally for personal funds, but multiply that by 20. Then you use the results to buy your equipment. Equipment is culturally based, though. On page 17 through 19 gives you the proper equipment list.
As for items, Anuireans, Brechts, Khinasi, the Elves, and the Dwarves are the equivalent of Renaissance culture. As for the Rjurik and Orogs -- they represent Middle Ages culture. Finally the Vos, the goblins, and the beastmen (Gnolls) are considered to be in the Dark Ages.
New Armor:
Improved Mail (AC 14, 50 lbs).
Half Plate (AC 14, 40 lbs.)
Breastplate and Leather (AC 16, 25 lbs.)
Weapons:
Claymore (great sword) -- Rjurik great sword.
Cutlass (Gladius) -- Popular among sea-farers.
Crossbow -- Critical threat is 18-20 because of their penetration power.
Rapier (rapier) popular among the Brechts.
saber (longsword) -- favored weapon of Khinasi.
Mounts:
Varsk -- A lizard with fur all over it, big enough to ride. A trained Varsk costs 250 gp, and an exceptional animal might cost twice that much.
Regular Items: Ultimate Equipment doesn't differentiate the equipment according to periods of history. I suggest downloading the Second Edition Arms and Equipment Guide to navigate what is available and what isn't.
3. Yes, they are unknown. I think Rich and Colin did that so to say that the Sielwode is a mysterious place. You may use the Domain build rules to assign Law and Source ratings.
4. Interesting you should say they should be similar to paladins. you get 4d6x10 body guards. roll on table 4 to find out what you get.
5. The bloodline Strength Feats that I came up with is used for Method I, and I thought it was logical. But we are using Method III: you assign points to your bloodline. you do roll for blood abilities. But you choose which blood abilities you do have.
6. Yes.
7. Maybe (i'd rather you just roll but most people want to point buy their abilities, so I'm letting them point buy their score).
Jubal Breakbottle
personal equipment (gp): 4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 6, 6) = 21 x10x20 = 4,200 gp
number of elite bodyguards: 4d6 + 10 ⇒ (1, 3, 3, 1) + 10 = 18
type of elite bodyguards (Table 4): 1d100 ⇒ 65 = Archers, very appropriate
number of bloodline powers from Minor: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Some of those bloodline powers were limited to certain bloodlines. Your info in Conversions doesn't indicate any limitations, e.g. Alertness could only be take by 4 derivations. Are there limitations?
number starting realm spells: 1d3 ⇒ 3
domain design points using Major 42: 42 + 2d10 ⇒ 42 + (8, 4) = 54
for fun bloodline strength: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
for fun bloodline score: 8d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 3, 6, 6, 6, 1, 1) = 32
If I could take this bloodline score, what would be my new ability point buy total?
Orfamay Quest
I'm a little confused about what step #9 of chargen means.
9. Regents must spend a feat to collect Regency from a holding other than a province holding. This is to prevent rampant multi-classing.
As a silly example, let's say I want to play the Chamberlain of Annuire (10/0), and I go nuts with buying holdings in that province.
I can get up to 10 Regency points from holding Annuire itself
I can get up to 10 points from the law holdings
I can get up to 10 points from the temple holdings
I can get up to 10 points from the guilds
There are no source holdings available in Annuire
Even If I'm a cleric, I need to spend a feat to get Regency from the temples, and another feat to get half-regency from the law holdings?
Am I understanding this correctly?
Jubal Breakbottle
There were a couple questions in my previous post.
52 domain design points to spend
Sielwode provinces = 27
As wizard, provinces alone cost 54 points. That doesn’t work.
As fighter, provinces cost 27 points with 25 points remain for law and sources
As wizard, let’s put 1 law in all 9 provinces leaving 14 points for sources
Let’s put 1 sources in all 9 provinces leaving 5 points
Let’s spend 4 points to make a 5 point source in the capital Fhylallien
And 1 last point in Fhylallien for 2 law
That’s what we can do with domain building. Instead, would you be open to build it like Tuarhievel? 50% of maximum law holdings and 90% of maximum source holdings.
Jubal Breakbottle
Okay, about your score. Question is, how much did you spend on the blood score the first time?
Originally 3 points. I posted the build in the first Sielwode char gen spoiler. To buy a bloodline score of 32, I would have to spend 15 points leaving an ability buy of 20 points.
The break points are really spending 17 points to get a 36 score and major bloodline. Below that it's a minor bloodline. Someone could also dump the bloodline stat to get more ability scores and still get a credible Tainted score that many NPCs have.
Orfamay Quest
1/2 regency, actually, on both counts.
You can get regency of Law and Regency of Temple, and Improved Regency of Temple; but you can't have the 3 feats together.
All right, now I'm even more confused. According to your rules:
Clerics are the default Class that are associated with Temples. Clerics receive full regency from Temple holdings as well as 1/2 regency from Law holdings.
So I can't get regency from both temples and law, even as a cleric? Or I can't get full regency and half regency?
Where are these new feats listed?
GM Elton
|
Regent of Guild/Law/Source/Temple
Prerequisites: Regency.
Benefits: Character gains RP equal to half the level of holding of particular type.
Improved Regent Of Guild/Law/Source/Temple
Prerequisite: Regency and having Regent Of (the same holding type) feat.
Benefits: Character gains RP equal to level of the holding of particular type.
Each regent would gain two bonus feats - either Regent and Improved Regent of single holding type or Regent of two different holding types - based upon the class(es) possessed when the character became regent. Multiclass characters could pick a total of two feats from regency feats available to any of their classes.
Alchemist, Bard: Regent Of Guilds, Regent Of Sources.
Barbarian, Cavalier, Fighter, Noble: Regent Of Law, Improved Regent Of Law
Druid: Regent of Temples, Regent Of Sources.
Cleric, Oracle: Regent Of Temples, Improved Regent Of Temples.
Inquisitor, Paladin: Regent Of Law, Regent Of Temples.
Magus: Regent Of Law, Regent Of Sources.
Ranger: Regent Of Law, Regent Of Guilds
Rogue: Regent Of Guilds, Improved Regent Of Guilds
Sorcerer, Summoner, Witch, Wizard: Regent Of Sources, Improved Regent Of Sources.
Look in the feat section of my post, I took another person's idea in order to curb rampant Multi-classing.

Please find proposed character generation guidelines below. I've edited a couple of things, so please review before posting. For example, I gave characters a 25 point buy if they roll for their bloodline strength and score and want to keep it. I removed the new armor, because it doesn't make sense considering the Pathfinder options; we can discuss this on the Conversion thread as you wish. There already is a cutlass in Pathfinder, and I changed the saber definition from longsword to scimitar, due to the alignment with Khinasi and dancing dervishes.
There is still a question about selecting bloodline powers and any limitations by derivations; the answer should be added to these guidelines. I didn't spoiler these guidelines, so you can use the Reply function to cut and paste all of the links that I made to your Conversion thread rules.
Cheers
_________________________________________________________
Creating your characters:
1. Review the available domains within Elinie, Endier, Roesone, Ilien, Medoere, Arwenwe. You always earn full regency points for provinces. Depending on your class, you can earn more regency points for law, temple, guild or source holdings. Your first feat allows you to earn half regency for one type of holding. A second feat allows you to earn full regency for the same holding or half for a second type of holding. Decide the class of your character.
2. You may pick any Birthright race: Human, Dwarf, Elf, Half-elf, and Halfling. Humans have five sub-races: Anuireans, Brechts, Khinasi, Rjuriks, and the Vos.
3. If you do not select a published domain as is, you must use the domain building rules, which will always make a small domain about the size of Ilien. Select which domain you want to play or modify. Submit your character concept (race & class) and domain selection to the GM Elton for approval.
4. Roll your Bloodline strength and score using the rules in this post on the Recruitment thread. If you want to keep your bloodline rolls, use a point buy of 25 points.
5. If you don’t like your bloodline rolls, point buy SEVEN stats with 30 points. The stats are: Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom, Charisma, and Blood score (if playing a scion). Double your blood score and this will be your Bloodline score.
6. Choose two traits. Equivalents from Humans of Golarion: Anuireans are equal to Taldans; Brechts have no equals but traits revolve around Trade; Khinasi are equal to the Keleshites; the Rjuriks are equal to the Ulfens; and the Vos are equal to the Varisians. Elves use Elves of Golarion to determine their traits; and almost so on (Halflings use the APG and ARG).
7. As a bonus, regents get a bloodline feat. On the Recruitment thread, roll for the number of bloodline powers.
9. Human regents may select the Leadership feat at level 1 as their bonus feat. The PrC Scion (found on Birthright.net) and can raise your score. Leadership feat has also been modified.
10. Regents get bodyguards. On the Recruitment thread, roll for the number of bodyguards and their type. Martial and hybrid martial characters get 4d6+10 for the number and roll bodyguard type on Table 4 (d100, Rulebook pg 10). Otherwise, roll 2d6+5 for the number and type on Table 5 (d100, Rulebook pg 11).
11. Spell-casting regents receive 1d3 Realm Spells; roll on the recruitment thread. From then on, your realm spells have to be researched using the Research domain action.
12. There are four new skills: Administrate, Knowledge (law), Lead, and Warcraft. There are also a couple new uses for existing skills. Check with GM if it is a class skill for you.
13. There is no Common language. You start with your racial language. Additional languages are here.
14. Equipment: regents receive 20 times the standard starting wealth for personal funds. Roll on the recruitment thread.
Weapons changes:
Claymore (greatsword) -- Rjurik greatsword.
Cutlass -- Popular among sea-farers.
Crossbow -- Critical threat is 18-20 because of their penetration power.
Rapier -- popular among the Brechts.
Saber (scimitar) -- favored weapon of Khinasi for those Dancing Dervishs
Mounts:
Varsk -- A lizard with fur all over it, big enough to ride. A trained Varsk costs 250 gp, and an exceptional animal might cost twice that much.
15. Background. Please integrate your character’s background into the published history of their domain.
To summarize all of your rolls, after you receive character and domain approval from GM:
[dice=Bloodline strength]1d20
[dice=Bloodline score]
[dice=Bloodline powers]
[dice=Number of bodyguards]
[dice=Type of bodyguards]1d100
[dice=Starting Realm spells]1d3

Actually, one additional question. Are we all supposed to rule provinces, or would a character like Mhistecai who controls domains but not provinces, be an acceptable character?
That might make for more cooperation and less infighting, but it also doesn't mesh well with your provinces-don't-take-feats-but-sources/guilds/chopshops-do rules.

Question:

With Birthright.net now up, I can use their conversions. They may be different, they may not be. We'll see. For now, use what it says in the Rulebook.

IF you want to do it that way, I won't stop you. It's a variation on "Each to his Throne."

Quote:I need him to choose which he would pick.
Players waiting approval to build:
- Daniel Stewart - Endier
- Orfamay Quest - Mieres, Aerenwe, or Mhisticai
Well, I'd prefer Mieres, but that's not on your "recommended" list of realms.
ETA: basically, I'm envisoning playing a naval powerhouse, something like England/UK in the Age of Sail, so the off-shore island of Mieres and Good Queen Bess's privateers seems to fit the bill. (That's not a bad character name, actually.) Aerenwe would sort-of work if I focus on building up the seaport.
Alternatively, I noticed that everyone is fleeing to the edge of the map (which of course makes tactical sense). While I don't mind playing Good Queen Bess, I'd rather not play as Napoleon or the Duke of Wellington and command Roesone's armies, but there's room for some interesting political stuff in the heartland, such as Cardinal Richelieu and his sprawling network of temples. (I just picked Mhisticai as an example of a non-provincial regent because I had my book open to the Mieres page and I couldn't remember the name of any of temple leaders.)
Basically, I'm trying to express my willingness to make a character that makes the game itself work better instead of insisting on being a very special snowflake who will playing Queen Amidala of Naboo, If we have four wannabe arcane casters, someone needs to play a priest. ...

Mieres is the only region at an edge of the map. The Sielwode is surrounded by goblins, dwarves, brecht and two Anuireans. Oh my!
I wanted to play an elf and there are only two kingdoms. I would be happy with Aerenwe too, but we would have to rewrite history quite a bit. And I would suggest reforest the three other provinces of Aerenwe.

Mieres is okay to take up. There are other Anuirean Colonies to the west, managed by Boeruine and Avanil.
