I am!

From what I've heard it didn't do what was intended and the people hurt are only slightly hurt, and due to the panic reaction, rather than the device.... but not really following much.

I wasn't in London today and wouldn't be near Parsons Green anyway. So I'm fine. Thanks for the concern.

This was a minor attack, I believe, but I'm glad to hear both that none of you were close or -judging by the news- no serious injuries happened.

I live close enough to Madrid to sometimes be wary when I go there, specially since we haven't had no terrorist attack in the capital since 2011.

In any case, glad to hear it.

I'll mirror that sentiment, glad you and yours were not affected! I'm surprised there isn't more of that sort of activity here in NOLA (knock on wood). It's a fairly large city and many a traveler's destination.

That being said, I do believe it is your turn Nevynxxx. I know it's a difficult decision deciding which party member to attack (/sarcasm) ;)

Glad you guys are safe.

At 11pm last night (my time) this incident wasn't being reported (not quite sure when it happened relative to my time zone) and now, by 8am my time it has already slipped to item number 4 on my news feed (apparently the latest crazy rant by North Korean spokespersons, a local serious car accident and an opinion piece about a reality tv 'star' are more newsworthy ...)

I am copying this to all my games.

Sorry for late notice, but I am headed down the road to vacation for a week. Connectivity and availability may be an issue, so please bot for me rather than waiting too long. I will peek in if I can and normal posting is expected to resume in nine days.

I don't say this enough to the people in RL, let alone to my virtual friends, but I appreciate you and this game we share. Peace.

Just to let you know, I had The Blight delivered to me last week. By god, it's a big book! About 900+ pages, with small writing (pretty impossible to read without mt reading glasses, one of the more depressing things about getting old) it would definitely class as a potential murder weapon due to sheer size and weight. Tons of information, I'm only about 40 pages in. I think it's unlikely I'll be running anything from it soon, given the amount of information in it that needs to be processed, but you never know, once I've had a chance to get a proper read....

Grand Lodge

Need to see a pic of roughly how thick a 900 page rpg book is. That sounds nearly impossible to bind! Congrats on that project coming to a successful conclusion :)

Wow, that is a big book.

Hope you have room on your bookshelf. That thing is a monster.

Liberty's Edge

Male Mothman Expert 5

Speaking for myself I have literally no room left on my bookshelves (which are stacked 3 books deep in some places). I will seriously need to consider getting rid of a lot of my old RPG books (many of which are already in storage rather than on the shelf) and going digital when it comes to further purchases.

There is no such thing as too many books, just not enough bookshelves.....

Take you're time Aubs, we are patient folk :D

Do you all care if I change Tikrok's portrait when he changes shape? I'm hoping it will make it more obvious what he is when not in human form.

Edit: After looking, there isn't many animal portraits to choose from so it may not be an issue.

Yeah, Aubs. You've outdone yourself this time.... Awesome.

Grand Lodge

Nev, I thought that +3 will save had to be an error. We got to get you a cloak at some point. That looks dangerous at this level.

You forgot to add good hope, but it still leaves you 1 shy of 17.

Male Halfling Rogue/11 AC:26 HP: 92{92}

Yeah, I think I don't tend to notice the dodgy Will save, because the others are keyed to stats that sure them up....

I'm trying to plan out what I'll be doing for this fight and I want to make sure it'll work rules wise. Because the room is so small I was thinking of staying as a bat and trying to use the dirty trick combat maneuver to blind or entangle Vethran by grabbing part of his clothes and pulling it over his head or partially wrapping him up. Aubs, without giving anything away, any reason that wouldn't work? That's cool with everyone else?

Just fyi, the dirty trick only lasts one round +1 round for each 5 cmb beats cmd. It's always a move action to end the condition early.

The Exchange

It's a bit unusual but you can give it a go. Bear in mind the fact that you are diminutive will reduce your CMB somewhat.

HP: 108/108, AC:30/16/26, Fort:+11/Ref:+8/Will:+12 CMD: 32, Init+6, Perc+17 current form(Giant Vulture) Effects:beastspeak, extended barkskin, extended strong jaw

Yep, I spent what seemed like an eternity doing math for all the different forms I could take. Without any other considerations I'm at +12 (8 bab + 6 dex +2 AoMF - 4 size) vs my base form's +14. Attacking from stealth would let me target his "flat-footed" cmd. Any other buffs (bard music/haste) would add to it as well.

Also, I find it funny to have an itty bitty bat pulling a cloak over the dread mage's head. I like to play the characters that do odd daring feats in combat. I had a monk that tried to tackle the bowman off the back of a horse. I had a different monk that leapt to the boat 30ft off shore that the evil cleric was casting from to grapple and pin her. Later in that same campaign he grappled a werewolf... that didn't go well.

Pfft. Ever had a character jump off a cliff to dive-bomb a wyvern in flight below? No? I thought not.

That was a good move ... that could have gone horribly, horribly wrong ...

But it didn't and it was glorious

I don't want to be 'that guy' but...
CMB vs Mirror Image

The basic argument is that it is still technically an attack roll.

relevant part of combat manuver:
When you attempt to perform a combat maneuver, make an attack roll and add your CMB in place of your normal attack bonus. Add any bonuses you currently have on attack rolls due to spells, feats, and other effects. These bonuses must be applicable to the weapon or attack used to perform the maneuver. The DC of this maneuver is your target's Combat Maneuver Defense. Combat maneuvers are attack rolls, so you must roll for concealment and take any other penalties that would normally apply to an attack roll. bolding mine

As always though, its your game, run it how you want.

Whatever the final ruling, I'll be okay.

I truly kneel before the DM on this and any other rule adjudication.

My question was how did you have enough actions to cast mirror image in the first place and still attack? Haste only grants you speed or move actions. Did you have another ability that granted you a quickened casting?

It's part of the Arcane bloodline for the bloodrager. When he rages he gets two affects and an option to cast a 3rd.

And I'm right there with ya emissary. Aubrey's word is law.

OK, cool, thanks for looking that up. We have a ruling.

Regarding the buffs, it is exactly what Tikrok said. Arcane bloodline for bloodrager adds pseudomagical effects when you rage (at 4th, 8th and 16th) which explicitly mention stacking with themselves. And then at 11th level you can cast a 2nd level spell or lower as part of the action to enter rage, which is free, using the rage's duration instead of that of the spell.

So other than the tiny amount of spell slots, when it comes to rapid buffing, an 11th level Arcane Bloodrager is pretty much king with 3 buffs as a free action.

Sorry for the confusion anyway.
