Darius Ral'algul |

" Now Zin, be reasonable. While we are comfortable with each other and this makes rooming much less expensive, there is still some risk involved. You however are paying for it so that is in the right. I rather no one is taken advantage of due to unpreparedness. "

Jones Shei'lac |

Jones gives an exasperated sigh, and takes some coins out of his own purse.
"I suppose it's worth keeping the party together."

Darius Ral'algul |

Darius seemed almost confident that the situation would eventually cause Zin to relent but Jone's falling to the suggestion had the opposite effect. He seemed to break out into a cold sweat. " Y-Yes , of course. "

Jones Shei'lac |

Jones regards Darius with a sympathetic look.
"Do you really think you're going to talk Zin out of this?"

Darius Ral'algul |

" .... No, not really, but the idea came up I will admit. well Zin, at least for tonight we shall be staying at The Majesty as befitting. "

Samuel Sledge |

"Everyone here is so stuffy, though."

Zin'Retatarianna Mor |

"I expect to stay there as long as we're in Caliphas."
"I suspect we'll be here for the better part of a week, my funds will cover that without issue." Z dictates to Darius curtly.
"So, as Jones says, my mind is made up. Let us go and check in, and then we can begin to look around the city proper." she says as she begins to pull Darius down the street.

Darius Ral'algul |

Darius raised a brow, " Stuffy? Is the correct term for us? " as he was pulled, though relenting to let her do so.
" That is what I suggested in the first place. There doesn't seem to be anything besides Jones' news however. "

Sundakan |

The Majesty is, perhaps, one of the most opulent places you've ever been. Even the grand hall gives off a sense of refined, tasteful, filthy wealth with vaulted ceilings ad marble floors and columns.
The front desk sits within a small alcove, tucked away so as to not detract from the impressive aspect of the rest of the interior. A young woman mans the station, and as you approach she bows deeply and does not say a word.

Darius Ral'algul |

Darius approaches the woman with a certain swagger and gives a curt bow in response. " Excuse me fair maiden. Are you the one in which I would speak to procure a room? "

Darius Ral'algul |

Darius is confused for but a moment before realizing with the name what she may very well be going for. It was called The Majesty of course.
It had been quite a while since Darius gained this form of treatment, usually due to his work that the idea of nobility, standing and etiquette had become somewhat lost.
" Very well, I would like to procure a room for the night for my companion and I. How much will such a service cost us? We are quite weary due to travels. "

Sundakan |

Your impression (knowing that the majority of patrons to this establishment are nobility) that this is how the employees keep themselves safe from any lordlings who might take offense at a perceived lack of proper respect and exact vengeance.
She twitches slightly in surprise at you actually asking what the costs of the rooms are.
"32 gold per night, sir. Just the one room, sir?" she says and straightens more.

Zin'Retatarianna Mor |

Z makes an audible clicking noise, "Forgive my companion, he is out of his element."
"He makes for a fine bodyguard but like all men of his profession he lacks any sense of decorum."
Z grabs the bag containing 300 gold she had prior given Darius and hands it to the woman, "I expect to be staying a week, this should be adequate, whatever is leftover is yours to keep."
"I am traveling with two others as well, ensure that we are stationed on the same floor, I don't like to be far from my help."

Darius Ral'algul |

Darius raises an eyebrow at Zin's forwardness.
" I apologize, it seems my companion is very forward. Please pay my lack of knowledge and her demeanor no mind. " Darius gave another such bow.

Sundakan |

The girl now looks uncertainly between the two of you, but eventually, she just defaults to the one with money.
"Yes, my lady. I'll see right to it." she says and practically flees from the room.
She returns a moment later with a key, and exchanges it for the bag.
"We will take care of any of your needs. Room service is available, one needs only ring the bell to summon a servant. There is a menu on the bedside table."
"The room's bar is fully stocked, though should you wish to mingle there is a sitting room down here in the main hall. Unfortunately, we have no balls scheduled for this week, but we will be sampling a new delicacy in the dining hall on Friday."

Darius Ral'algul |

Darius gives Zin a face that says " Really now? " at her acting but goes along with it moving close and placing out his arm as if to escort her to her room.
He whispered, " Was it really necessary to make me one of low birth and your servant? "

Darius Ral'algul |

He grunted, " Cheeky as always it seems. servant is still a bit of a stretch, while I do have certain inalienable duties. I suppose you should enjoy your time here, you did pay for it. I hear the bar is fully stocked. "

Samuel Sledge |

"Wait, Jones - are we gonna need to get a room here as well? Dammmit."

Jones Shei'lac |

"Have you not been paying attention? Yes, we should be staying here, if only to be close to Zin and Darius. I'm sure you can afford it now."

Zin'Retatarianna Mor |

I assume we just retire for the night then?

Darius Ral'algul |

Darius notes Zin's hurried form and peers at the necklace, " Anything? Or is this establishment free from cloaked figures and shadowy undead under illusion magic? "

Zin'Retatarianna Mor |

"Nothing nearby at least, I'll check again in the room, but it seems clear."

Darius Ral'algul |

" Excellent, at least this time we will have some sort of sensor assuming unmentionables decide to disturb our slumber once again. I would doubt they be as load and violent as the last city considering the expense and prestige of this building, but I cannot say I have not been surprised in my lifetime. "
Darius sneered at that realization. " Let's get some rest of some sort. I'm sure there will be plenty of excitement one way or the other sometime. " Darius moves along with Zin to their room.

Jones Shei'lac |

"Truthfully, I'm looking forward to sleeping in a proper bed without any suspect stains in the sheets. Perhaps we made the right decision after all."

Darius Ral'algul |

Well considering its.. under a tabard... and would either glow or not glow.. pretty subtle. She isnt pulling it out like an idiot and a glow of blue would be all you need.

Sundakan |

It doesn't glow particularly brightly (not enough to shed light as a candle or anything for sure). If that's how you're using it I'm going to say it's a DC 20 Perception check to notice a very faint blue glow from tiny toy lights shining through cloth. Not particularly relevant in most cases, but if you're ever distracted it may come into play.

Zin'Retatarianna Mor |

To be fair she isn't going to keep it concealed forever, it just seems prudent in the middle of an urban metropolis.

Samuel Sledge |

Sledge will begrudgingly split the cost of a room with Jones.

Jones Shei'lac |

That's 112 gold from each of us for the week.

Samuel Sledge |

believe me, i know

Jones Shei'lac |

Jones hands their money to the receptionist.
He shrugs at Sledge. "A fair price for some additional security, don't you think?"

Sundakan |

The night passes without incident, though with much comfort. The rooms are equipped with baths and running water, a luxury some of you may never have experienced before (but the maids are happy to explain).
The beds are magically adjustable, conforming to the user's body and automatically increasing or decreasing firmness for maximum comfort.
You also learn that breakfast can be ordered into your room without you even needing to leave bed.
Given this, how early do you wake and get moving? And where do you go then?

Zin'Retatarianna Mor |

Sometime after noon I know that. Z will leave where to go up to the others.

Jones Shei'lac |

Jones wakes up around 11, much later than his normal routine.
"Ahhh...we definitely made the right decision staying here. I feel like a new man!"
"Hmm, do you think they'll mind if I prepare my extracts in the sink?"

Darius Ral'algul |

Darius awoke sore and tired but mentally, relatively rested. The opportunity to actually rest instead of utilize spells to remain functioning was a welcome difference. The fact his morning did not require appropriation of food nor worrying about possible hunger was all the better.
Slinking out of bed he stretched his still-new body. The feeling of youth was both a blessing and a curse, being as it was not his own. Darius tapped awake a resting Zin as he prepared his bath and clothing for the day. There was likely much to explore.
" Rise and Shine Zin, there is much work to do. Rather not get TOO used to this comfort. It will be here when we return. We have to gather leads or comb the area. Perhaps these sightings to what I believe might deal with undead. "

Samuel Sledge |

Sledge gets up at 6:31, a full 3 minutes later than usual, and eats four breakfasts.
"Might as well get my money's worth..."

Darius Ral'algul |

Darius grunts, " Don't complain, it's your fault your like that. It's already past noon. "
We don't really have one is the issue. I suppose we go to the site of the last crime and backtrack from there. Likely it has something to do with undead.

Samuel Sledge |

Sounds good. This city is a metropolis, right?
