Actually, dollar stores aren't really even that much of a thing any longer. There are still stores that call themselves dollar stores, but they have lots of things that are over 1 dollar.
Edit: It's Cain and Simon who still have actions this round, right? I suggest...killing the flanked, possibly prone, entangled, and moderately sickened ogre.
Simon Blue-Eye
Nope I acted spread and failed miserably at striking home unless their ac REALLY suck...
Maglin
Ah, meant Cain and Dalkk, said Simon instead.
With all the debuffs, large size, and poor dex, I'd bet you hit. At least, I bet Emily hit with the slightly better rolls.
DW Duck
I didn't see any damage from the bomb tallied, but I was kinda hoping we'd drop the first ogre before my attack so I could start on the next. Would appreciate a 2nd look at my math, high tactic melee bonuses with a fresh weapon, not exactly my specialization.
DW Duck
Damn, I will keep that in mind in the future. Size bonuses are always a little weird for me unless it's just medium vs x
Dalkk has a move action remaining. Is a celebratory T-Bag a move or standard?
DW Duck
I got 2 ways I want to play this... Either high tactic western or barbarian rage dwarf without the buffs...
High Tactic: Evens
Rage Dwarf: Odds
1d100 ⇒ 94
Edit: High Tactics Western it is, will post soon
DW Duck
Nice RP seed Simon, hopefully the enslavement lines give you something to work with.
Simon Blue-Eye
Oh son of a b$@!$, that one hurt. I'm down to 1 hp just like that.
Getting away sounds like a hell of a gamble due to his reach and probably very high cmb, so acrobatics would be hard as well.
Full attack with all we got, hoping we can put him down in one go?
DW Duck
Damn, someone is happy to get a hit off haha. Can we get a map update to piece out exactly where he is, and who is on what side?
Edit: Just got the kook aid reference ::facepalm::
Also, perfect timing maglin haha
Edit2: Also, no save for stunning wall explosion?
GM Choon
I saved for youall in the interest of time. I'm still not sure I ran that right, but the other way to run it allowed the monster an attack vs dalk using that 18 it got on it's Init roll plus a cleave attack vs someone and I figured Dalkk would like to participate in this fight instead of laying in a bloody heap on the floor.
Maglin
For the sake of comedy, not complaining.
Later on in the thread that poster changed their views, if I remember correctly, about the explosive force of pickaxes and other things.
Simon Blue-Eye
Mhh well, since I was a good-boy-catling and was picking the lock of the door at the time of dynamic-entry ... I am currently dual-wielding my mwk THIEF TOOLS ... Beware puny ogre, I will poke you in the eye with my hair-needle-thingy!
So I have to first draw my dagger than can stab him once this round.
Since I did take my move action to draw a weapon, I can then 5ft-step back and then let Maglin try and fail to drag me out of the Ogre's reach.
Am I right ...?
Maglin
I rolled a 5, that should be sufficient.
But the thing about daggers is correct, as far as I can tell. At least Emily can do something.
Simon Blue-Eye
Post will have to wait for another 20h or some such.
Heavy day at work and big presentation tomorrow.
DW Duck
Sorry guys, I'm pressed for time ATM. Maglin should move Simon first, give Simon a full round to heal and or draw crossbow?
DW Duck
Nat 1... At least I'm matching the ogre?
Maglin
Lol, that was...an impressive display of ability to talk.
DW Duck
You know what, that puts me eons ahead of my performance in the zombie room haha #GlassHalfFull
Hopefully it'll make me look like an even jucier target and at least accomplish that much?
Simon Blue-Eye
#TeamKitty? :-)
Man I'm glad for my templates for the attack sequences of those cats, for they are ridiculously full of wildly situational boni and stuff ^^

#TeamKitty? :-)
Man I'm glad for my templates for the attack sequences of those cats, for they are ridiculously full of wildly situational boni and stuff ^^
Damn! Go TeamKitty!
I keep telling myself I'm going to do that, but never do. I keep copying and pasting from older posts too
Marco Theseus Cain
I've made only one template for my attacks, and that was with this psychic sniper who only ever attacks once in a round but has widely different bonuses to attack and damage
I'll post my attack soon just got to do a couple errands first
Maglin
Marco Theseus Cain
Hadn't at the time you asked the question but have now. Post incoming
Simon Blue-Eye
Ouch. This Ogre does not like cats!
Why can anyone not like cats-meowiii?!
Okay question time @Choon:
- Hunters animal companions can learn Skirmisher Tricks. I trained Emily a few of them because they are pretty awesome and cool. One of them in particular I have forgotten about too many times already: Vengance Strike
--> Basically it reads like: "If an adjacent ally is hit, you can make an immediate single attack against the attacking creature"
- I took this to allow Emily a counter attack if I - or any of you - gets hit (totally forgetting about this little trick of her since now o.O!)
- Now there is FAQ about whether you are your own ally, which the answer of the faq is 'Yes'.
...
Soooo, can Emily retaliate after being hit, because she counts as her own ally, thus triggering the trick?
Totally o.k. if you think this is weird and initially I picked it to defend others with this but we could need all the damage we can lay our hands paws on, so I thought I'd ask for a GM fiat on this matter :-)
Edit: @Vuzi: I can't get Emily out of his reach without provoking or trying a super difficult acrobatics test. Most likely I will go with the following: 5ft step back (swapping places with Simon) and taking full defense for the round, hoping the baddy has better targets to beat than the near-dead cat at the edge of his reach...
Maglin
It doesn't seem like any GM fiat to me, I think it works RAW and RAI and every other way that a thing could.
Also, did you drink shield?
And also also, I'm guessing that we should be in a position to kill it next round if we all full attack and I throw a bomb. Then again, there's no reason to risk it, I think, since Cain and Dalkk should be pretty good at trading.
Simon Blue-Eye
Nope didn't had the time to drink yet.
Just wanted to make sure, since the thing about adjacent ally == yourself is not a trivial 'yes' in my eyes.
I also think that I am unable to get back into melee range with the Ogre without provoking, isn't that right?
DW Duck
He has reach, so yeah, that would provoke. I suggest stepping another 5ft back and switch to crossbow or more healing.
Vuzi, ogres probably have a pretty low will save. Worse reflex, I'm considering taking the AoO and throwing a Tanglefoot bomb.
Choon this ogre was in range when bane was cast right?
Simon Blue-Eye
Want to, but no time atm, in the field.
Away til Monday. Just bot if I hold up.
Maglin
I'll bot in 12 to 18 hours if no one else has.
DW Duck
Well done Cain!
For botting do we want him to heal, shoot, summon ally? Considering this guy is nearly 1 hitting us, might not be a bad idea to get more body in here, and he can be summoned neat me to avoid crowding. Alternatively Cain might of nearly dropped him in that round alone hah
Marco Theseus Cain
So heals on those who need it might be a good idea
DW Duck
The two people who need healing are Simon and Emily. Emily can't be touch, so i thibk The heal vuzi cast can redirect to Simon. This leaves Emily the choice of trying to 5ft step slowly next 2 round, total defense, or keep fighting.
So Simon should be close to full now, and Emily can't. So does Simon range? Go back into melee (provoking atks of opportunity on the way)? Or cast summon creature of some kind? I think having more targets would be beneficial
Marco Theseus Cain
I feel like summoning would be a waste of resources at this point, so if he's got a range attack that sounds best
Maglin
Simon's ranged attack option, as near as I can tell, is +8 longbow (1d8 x3). So uh...not too useful.
I'm thinking an earth elemental (we're not allowed alternate summons like this guy are we? I wouldn't call it a waste of resources, since the ogre is doing a huge amount of damage on each hit.
Maglin
Well, I didn't ignore you, I made a decision on the basis of a variety of sources of input, including yours.
Marco Theseus Cain
Given the sudden thirty damage he's probably at death's door
Providing another body to wail on only matters if he doesn't just go after me, the source of the giant hole in his stomach
Summon monster 2 is a large resource as this is the level you get the spell
If she can hit with the arrow, it'll probably finish him off
Given the casting time of the spell you could attack twice with an arrow by the time the elemental gets to attack once
DW Duck
Damn dude... Emily is at 19 health, ogre has hit for 20 and 27 so far, Simon pointed out not being able to get her out of melee without AoO, and you specifically had Emily provoke AoO under the idea that she'll just be unconscious? I mean arguably if the AoO triggers first she's still only at 9hp... Which could easily kill her if he hits. If she stayed still there'd at least be a chance she wouldn't get hit, or withdraw? Not sure if withdraw still avoids AoO under reach.
Marco Theseus Cain
Yes. Which is why I'm trying to choose options that have the monster dead as fast as possible and not wait a whole round before that elemental can attack
DW Duck
I see your point about the resources. To me its a coin flip. If I *knew-for-100%* that the ogre was going to fall next round I'd be 100% on range. If I knew 100% that he wasn't then I'd say summon monster. I don't know what this ogres health is, or if he has even an inch of healing. Considering he is within range of 1 hitting many of us, and has 2 attacks per round either via cleave or iteratives, it may be worth the resource. I dunno, again coin flip.
For real though if we could retract Emilys actions, and keep Vuzi's redirected heal on Simon. Keep her in combat (fight defensive maybe) and then she only has a chance of being hit vs a guarantee? She could do a fair amount of damage next round and help insure the kill, and if she is hit a 2nd time it'll likely be the same result as if she triggered the AoO anyway.
Maglin
See, rereading what I wrote, it's super clear that I meant bite and then move action away. But what I was thinking at the time was bite and 5' step and then forgot about the claw attacks. I definitely don't want her to provoke an AoO, as you've pointed out, that'd be dumb, what I wanted her to do was attack and 5' step. Fighting defensively would've been a good call too, although I think it's unnecessary since she's going to 19, and probably won't actually die if the ogre hits her. She is within range of Vuzi's healing if she 5' steps, and can then 5' step either out of reach or back into her own reach.
Anyway, I think summoning is good. I'm not really sure if it's going to survive, and I have the same opinion as Dalkk in that if I knew if it would survive/die I'd know what to do. But if it dies and I've summoned, I think that's better than if it lives and I haven't. I also think a character like Simon should err on the side of resource expenditure when possible, because his basic full attack routine is so good anyway.
But the main point of this is, I meant full attack and 5' step away, not bite and move.
