Valda watched how the doors were locked. She really hoped that treating them like powerful leaders didn't mean cutting their heads off now to leave there people leaderless, but if it did, she had no intention of being trapped.

"Dave, that is an interesting weapon you wear," the Pharoah says, gesturing to THE dagger. "Might I see it?"

I had indicated that Dave was making it seem like he had no weapons on his person, as per normal, but I'll roll that for you right now.

RETCON

"So, Lord Dave. Tell me more about what you can offer in exchange for your lands being returned."

Inactive

He glances at Izzy and Valda long enough to recognize their lack of insight on this being, before turning his attention back to the phaor in full. "If I may, your lordship, I'd like to first discuss what it is you require. Why would your kind desire our city to have been brought here? The usurpers claimed that this plane needed it as if it were kindling. But I'm curious as to if there are other, more involved reasons."

"Kindling. Your term is apt, and appreciated. This land, it dies of its own nature. Fire cannot exist without consuming. Fire elementals cannot exist without consuming...creatures like you."

"So, I'm faced with a dilemma. Expand my kingdom, or watch it fade. Slowly, as an ember."

"In truth, there is little you CAN offer me. However, I am both impressed and beholden to your chutzpah to bring this request before me."

"Therefore, I offer you this deal. In exchange for the deal previously made. If you and your friends can defeat me in combat, I will allow you and your entire land to leave; I will seek my growth elsewhere. If I, however, defeat you, your city and your lands remain mine."

Dave takes a look around at his friends and companions, and notices that Pavel might have something to say about this guy, before giving his attention back to the Pharaoh. "I'll be honest, I didn't actually expect to be getting anything other then a fight by coming here to see you in person. But at least we'll be pleasant about it. Do you want to fight right here in this room, or did you have somewhere specific in mind."

The creature is known as an Efreeti. He's likely quite powerful, definitely more powerful than any one of you, and possibly more powerful than all five of you. You know they, like all creatures from this place, are vulnerable to cold energy, and are capable of many fire-related abilities.

May the frigid cold never be impune the power of the mighty Efreet, lords of the flame and the elements they survey, Pavel says in a monotone, neither displaying disdain or reverence to the mighty creature. He turns to the Pharoh."As the esteemed wizard Most High and Lit has said, completely out of turn if I'll be honest, we accept this challenge."

Unlike the other three, he does not reach for a weapon just yet. But even then, he still seems ready for the battle ahead.

Isagoras steps out of the way of the ball of fire, and the force of his will throws up a magical shield that absorbs the worst of the blast.

He finishes his summoning incantation and a portal opens. Through it steps a well-muscled man, whose bronze skin gleams and sparkles in the infernal heat. The perfect human form supports a dog's head that, somehow, speaks with perfect speech. It marches from the portal with an impossibly large two-handed sword held high, shouting at the Pharoh.

"Undying Flame!" shouts the hound archon as it stomps forward with inexorable intent, "the Order of the White Angel has invoked me, vanguard of the personal host of Imrael, Angel of Confrontation and harbinger of Propoket the Many, himself! You stand accused of magnum terrenum interitum and unmutual dislocation of a planar mass!" The hound-angel marched closer and closer to the Pharaoh, heedless of the naked flames that licked its feet or the terrible form of the magical efreet. He raised his sword high.

"I pronounce you in -defiance- of the Mortal Non-Interference Law and so your corporeal existence...is forfeit!"

The archon stopped ten feet from the pharaoh and attacked, his enormous blade covering the distance and moving with unthinkable power!

I'll wait for Pavel to go before me, it's cool.

Dave twisted out of the way as it became clearer who the Pharaoh was starting to focus on. It seems his continued success on his secondary attacks have been doing a lot to keep him out of harms way, and now Pavel seems to have made things even better. Isagoras brings out the amulet that has ridden close to his chest this entire time. 'Tis an image of a winged figure, with the lower half cut from a single crystal which now glows with a divine white light.

I only have 2 damage, same as Valda, but 5hings might change when Rando goes... Ahem, I at the momment reccomend a different spell and save your healing. Very nice roll on it though.

Ah, okay well then Rando, how about I hold my action until after the Pharaoh goes, and see who needs healing then use that post? That work? As for using a different spell and saving my healing, since I'm a hedge witch I can heal spontaneously like a cleric, so I don't actually have any memorized, just gotta drop another spell to heal... though at this point I'm not keeping track of actual spells (beyond my single 4th level spell, when I summoned the Archon), just slots since I don't have much offense wise to do the pharaoh in the first place so I figure I'm better sticking to healing anyway...

Probably a good idea.

Round 4.

The Pharoah is looking pretty ragged, but still has a determined gleam in his eye. He steps back and summons a cone of fire upon the area in front of him (similar to ice storm). The cone will catch Dave, Pavel, and Valda.

There's no save.

3d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 4) = 10 BLUDGEON
2d6 ⇒ (1, 6) = 7 FIRE

This, Maria's held action goes off, healing Dave for 14 of whatever he just took, and moving her place in initiative to 2nd, after the Pharoah.

Rest of the party may act.

Dave get's pretty burnt up, but Maria's quick to heal the worst of it. He turns slightly and gives a light nod, before turning back to the Pharoh and attacking again. His first two strikes are more shaky then before, but has last one as he spins about certainly hits true.

"Son of a donkey! Why do things keep setting me on fire?" Moving again to avoid getting caught in cones as well as fireball blasts, Valda took aim again and fired. Because this thing would loose one way or another.

"Kron the Usurper was slain upon the Field of Ma'Xros, and he had a legion of flame-beings!"
"The Army of Imrael has chased Lord Borak the Despoiler across a thousand planes! And he would has slain more mortals that you have even seen!"
"There is no shame in your death this day! You were killed the moment you touched Arzata!"

And so it goes, the dog-angels in bodies of men and voices of trumpets keep up a continuous lecture and bereavement of the mighty Efreet. That his funnel of heat touches them not seems to serve as great insult.

"FOOL! Do not think to save yourself by casting fire at mortals!"
"Even now are you too cowardly to embrace the death you've so richly sought?"
"You but play at power! You harass the Men like a child tromping ants!"
"Are you already brought so low that you will not cross swords with higher beings? How more ignoble could your death be?"

Isagoras, for his part, stays silent and takes a few deep, steadying breaths. He has played out all of his higher magic, and feels he could do best be keeping a sharp eye. If something unforeseen should happen, 'twould be best if he caught it and could murder the plot before it unfolded.
Delay action.
