as Iradyiel listens closely at the door he hears a loud melodic voice, complaining, turning to the group he tells them softly "who ever it its they've come for gold" Iradyiel shakes his head, if I were home how would I break into a chapel quietly did anyone see an outhouse? If we were in town, we could sneak in through the sewer system, most country churches have an out house, city churches have plumbing. I did not see any outhouses. Do we break down the door or look for a manhole cover and use the sewer?"

Awe, I throw maps up all the time just for fun. Actually your "liberties" saved me cause I made the DC for finding the manhole too high. But Iradyiel can find it just taking 10. As for taking 10 and 20, a character can take 10 any time they are not being "actively opposed", and take 20 any time you have infinite time available. In a dungeon I usually think infinate time is about 4 hours.


since the took "10" (20) coming up the cave he would have seen the manhole cover right?

thinking for a moment, he turns to the team and says, "Didn't we cross a manhole cover back a few yards, I didn't think anything about it then, shall we go back to it, or try to can access through the door?"

Iradyiel leads the party back to the manhole he's spotted. It's made of heavy cast iron but nothing some leverage from your weapons can't handle. The manhole slides aside and the air wafts from the sewer, though it doesn't smell bad really. You can hear the sound of cascading water and Iron ladder rungs lead downward.

Here is a second geeky thing which I know: manholes lids are round because that is the only shape that cannot "fall in to itself":)

I didn't come back here to try diplomancy with the demons... is what she wanted to say. Instead Darya's little quip caught her off guard and left the Vindicator flustered with pursed lips and she simply turned her head to the side.

And questioned the sanity in following the red headed woman down into the darkness as she did so anyway.

Wait she isn't... no... maybe? She's messing with me. Well... I'll be looking down so I'll know if she tries to look at my ass... Maybe I should let the half-elf go down before me? Should I move my legs a certain way-No! Keep it together now. Don't go lightheaded just because some minx said a nice thing or two. Not a second time...

Bruno frowns at the little hole. Esmeralda can't fit in there. He grumbles a bit, but separating from the group was a death sentence. So, he climbs down and pets his precious friend's nose. He speaks some low things to her in Dwarven before making sure he has his shield, hammer, and heavy pick and descending into the sewer. Once he lands, he arms himself with hammer and shield.

You walk in the sewers toward the chapel. This is EXACTLY how those kids got into trouble LARPing D&D back in the '80s - Sewers are no place for kids!

Up ahead you see a dark spot in the tunnel's floor, perhaps a hole. And you also hear something. Whispering voices, talking about something, Coming from the hole about 20 yards up ahead.

bloodbath? they can't be serious, someone tell me their not serious Very concerned about the seriousness of the conversation, Iradyiel, following the two Aasimar sword mistress' and Bruno, drops into the sewer. Keeping a keen eye out as he draws a shortsword in his left hand and a throwing dagger in his right. Iradyiel hearing Nazz, being in the front, say something about voices, then seeing Bruno smack himself, Wow, that dwarf really misses his camel, what was Nazz saying about petty insanity? As he approaches the hole he hears "Chew the sun and the stars but be careful, yes, oh so carefully frosted with sprinkles..." oh those voices. Iradyiel, stepping over the unconscious dwarf whispers to Nazz and Darya, "Ladies if you don't mind I will take a peak."as he tries to quietly get close enough to look in the hole.

"If that's you purring I can't wait to see you angry." Nazz quips nonsensically to Darya, trying to focus on some sound other than the maddening gibberish leaking out of the pit.

As Iradyiel peers over his toe into the pit he sees the nastiest blob of monster he's ever seen. Full of mouthy toothy human chompers, it gibbers the nastiest things and when it spots him, the creature tries to spit Acid on Iradyiel! spittle: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16...the juicy nasty fluid spatters in his eyes and Iradyiel can't see for 1d4 ⇒ 4 X6 seconds or so!

The monster proceeds to flobble it's bulbousness against the side of the pit trying to get you guys but it's pretty obvious: this silly, otherwise dangerous monster, fell into this pit and cant get it's fat self out.

Neverthless, it's 15 feet to the other side, too far to jump, accept for mabe throwing Bruno.

Still unable to see, Iradiel places his back against the wall, and sheathing his blades, wipes the acid from his eyes, using his shirt sleeves. Once he is able to see again, he unshoulders his crossbow to fire down upon the multi mouthed mumbling monster.

I was thinking "spittle" was a touch attack.

Nazz's feet spash in the algea lined water but the monster is surprisingly nimble. It writhes and gibbering more intensly as it squares of with Nazz. Then Darya lands directly on it. It flattens under her weight gibber-howling in pain! But bucks hard, forcing Darya to step off of it. You hear a *Pfffff-shew* sound followed by a big clunk - a crossbow bolt from Siff hits the far wall of the pit splashes into the water. Then shear lands with a kitty splash next to Nazz and swipes the creature with powerful claws...

Khan, confirm your crit! Let's see, it's at least 24 damage but...

Even as the heros slash the bastard up it seems to heal itself, broken teeth and bluddy mouths sinking into it's blobby boddy, while new ones emerge.
