Roarus tosses his empty mug aside. "Follow me then! The Pit's got quite a cellar to practice in!"
-------
The massive shoanti leads you down the back stairs of the Pit, where a large stage is built into the back wall. Sitting on the edge of the stage is a slender, but muscular man dressed in a black leather coat & trousers ensemble, with no shirt on underneath it. His pale white skin matches his pale white hair, and his pointed ears twitch as the two of you approach. His icy blue eyes meet yours, and he smiles a smile full of sharp teeth. A long, muscular tail stretches from underneath his leather coat, and a large, sharp greataxe rests in his lap. Curiously, there are several lengths of lute strings stretching from the hilt to the head of the axe.
"Mach! I've found you another skald!" Roarus claps you on the back.

Well met. I am Ulfr Uggason. Ulfr takes in the strange instrument. It couldn't be comfortable to play. He looked forward to seeing how it operated. He noticed the tail, but said nothing. After all, Zev had one and he was cool.

The other student, Mach, gets up from the stage and casually struts over to you. His axe-lute-hybrid is hanging off his shoulders by a leather strap that runs from the pommel of the axe to its very tip.
"Name's Mach Star." His tail swishes and he plucks a string on his axe-lute. The noise it makes sounds like a lute string that's been charged with electrical energy.
"So, Ulfr, what instruments do you play? I've always been one for awesome vocals & sick riffs, myself." He taps the axe-lute again.

"Yes." She moves to follow you.

Saersha pointed through the door on the left and said, "This is a sitting room, the furniture is comfortable as opposed to stylish, I've never understood why someone would have a sitting room that was uncomfortable to sit in." this room had a hard wood floor as well and a pair of small couches as well as two comfortable chairs facing a fireplace. The furniture was upholstered in dark green fabric and looked quite well stuffed with padding.
She then turned to face the other door, a small kitchen, "This rooms use is obvious, it isn't large but it will work for the two of us." She looked at Embyr and asked, "Do you know how to cook Embyr? If not we should find someone to teach you."
Still holding her maid's hand Saersha led the young woman further down the hall. and into the back part of the house. there were two doors, one to the right and one straight ahead. She opened the door to the right and said, "This is what will be your room once it's cleaned up if you wish to use it." the room wasn't big, taking up enough size behind the kitchen to equal the sitting room's total area, but for Embyr it was likely larger than most of the place she grew up in. It was full of stuff, brick a brack, bottles and jars and pouches with material components, it was mostly a very cluttered wizard's study.
She then pulled Embyr to the last door and opened it. Inside was a large bedroom, one that would have taken up at least a third of the front part of the house. It had a large, four poster bed, sumptuous sheets, thick carpets, and a large armoir. There was an attached room that held a fair sized bathroom with a tub that would butt up against the back of the fireplace. It had pipes, one of which came out through the brick of the chimney to provide hot water, and another for cold. There was a nice mirror and cabinets as well as fluffy towels and cloths. "This is the bedroom and bathroom, I actually have hot running water, within reason, a toilet, and...well..." She trailed off to look at Embyr and see what the young woman's response was like and then said, "and, if you'd rather forgo your own room, you can always share mine my Pet."
The Seven-Pointed Cat
She nods when you ask if she can cook.
By the time the two of you get to your own bedroom & attached bathroom, she's starry-eyed.
"...so, um... what's the dress code around here, ma'am?" She asks, her posture straight.

Saersha was thoughtful as she stood there, thinking about the clothing, and finally said, "We'll go visit a seamstress I know who does good work. She can help us get appropriate attire for you." Saersha's voice trailed off as she thought some more, "I don't know if we can make it there today. It's in the trade district so we may need to wait until tomorrow."
Saersha caught Embyr's eyes again and asked, "you didn't answer my question though Pet.' her voice trailed off a moment as she approached Embyr and trailed one finger up the underside of the woman's chin, "Do you want to have the spare room cleaned out for your use or would you rather share my room with me instead?"
Not sure what time of day it is currently.

"Thank you so much. I'll keep things tidy, I promise," says Azura.
She bustles off down the hallway toward one of the guest rooms, with her companions (hopefully) in tow.
"Ada and Zev, why don't you take the room on the left, and Ryn and I can share the room on the right," she says.
"It'll probably take us a few days back-and-forth to get all the pieces out of there, but if Mr. Greenthorne really is willing to pay above market value, that could be a big boon for us!" she says excitedly to her friends as she slings her pack off her back and stretches her sore muscles.
"Yeah, I promise we'll do our best not to leave a mess." Ryn adds to Sheila before they head to the rooms. She nods enthusiastically at Azura's room suggestions, taking the bard's pack from her as she removes it and stretches. "That would definitely go a long way, both towards funding anything else we wanted to do, and establishing another solid contact."
The gladiatrix stretches herself."Though the idea of a little down time to have fun is definitely welcome."
Saersha
With that Saersha reached up to her neck and began to work on undoing the stays of her garments and let them slide to the floor while her maid watched. Once she was done she arched an eyebrow and asked, "Do you need help with your luv?" She grinned wickedly, "I'd be more than happy to help you."
Zev Kelevra
”That sounds fine, are you okay with that?” Zev asks Ada after Azura suggests they use the left room.

You find several drums easily enough.
Roarus claps both you and Mach on the back once you've found a suitable drum for you. "Alright then! Let's get started!"
------------------
When you start undressing yourself, she starts gawping again.
She starts fumbling with the buckles of her own armour, trying to disrobe as well.
Saersha
She smiled at Embyr in hungry delight and said, "You are lovely my Pet, especially like this." She circled her now unclad maid like a hungry shark and then slipped up behind her. Her arms wrapped around the young woman and began to explore the front of her body hungrily. "Unfortunately we have to wait for the fire to heat the pipes before bathing so," she leaned i very close, her front and all it's curves pressed against Embyr's back, as she whispered quietly, "Can you think of something we can do to pass the time?" Her words were barely a breath as she finished, "because I can."
Azura Celestine
"Oh, thanks, Ryn," says Azura. She unbelts her baldric and moves into the guest room to hang it up, then starts rolling up her mail shirt to get out of the weighty armor. "I'm going to draw up a bath after getting out of this armor. I expect we'll all be taking turns with that!" She bends forward and rolls the chain shirt off her shoulders, then carefully extracts a few golden hairs that got caught in the links before she rolls up the pile of links and deposits it in the corner - keeping the room neat as promised.
"Uuuugh, it's good to get rid of that weight. Ryn, lemme give you a hand with your armor."
Ryn Mero
Following Azura into the guest room after giving Zev and Ada a little wave, Tyn sets their stuff down in a corner, slipping her shield off her back and propping it up against the wall.
"Sure," she says moving across the room to let Azura help her as she begins unbuckling her armor.
Azura Celestine
Azura carefully starts removing Ryn's pauldrons. "Hey you two across the way - this is gonna take a few minutes," she hollers over to Zev and Ada. "We should think about what we want for supper! We should all have something nice for a change - share a little time together over something better than biscuits and jerky."
Ada Melgath
Ada looks to the left room. "I guess that will work." She opens the door, and peeks in. "It's a really nice room."
Her head whips around when Azura calls out. Oh all right. We'll think about where to go. About all I know is the Pitt. You know what happened last time we went there."

"Let's do something pleasant! I bow to your judgment. Some place where we can hear each other talk as we dine," calls out Azura. "Ok, shutting the door now!"
She closes the door so that Ryn can change privately and continues helping the gladiatrix with her armor.

As they finish the fastenings on her breastplate, she pulls it off over her head with a sigh of relief. ”As incredibly comfortable as this armor is, it’s good to get out of it.”

"It is," Zev comments after looking into the room.
When Ada and Azura bring up food he starts to tilt his head. "Biscuits and jerky sound yummy. But so did what Miss Heidmarch had prepared for us. Maybe we can find a nice quiet tavern?"

"That would be nice. I usually don't eat in nice places. Is there a quiet tavern? The few I've been usually have a brawl at some point."
She laughs a little. "I mainly blame my brothers for that. Anyway how are you feeling?"
She moves in and takes a seat in one of the chairs in the sitting area of the room.
Zev Kelevra
Zev chuckles. ”Me neither. I’ve been in a few quiet ones while on the road. The rowdy ones seem to be a city thing.”
”I’m doing okay, just worn out at this point. A meal and sleep will fix all that. How about you?” he asks as he sits his sword down against the wall for the moment and takes of his coat, letting his tail freely wag.

"Did you want to hit the bath first, or shall I? Fair warning, I may be a while. It's been a long day so I have to empty my milkers before they burst!" She grins cheekily at her own intimate-but-casual commentary. She hooks her thumbs into the shoulders of her gambeson and jiggles it demonstratively.
Peeking out the door for a moment, Azura calls across the hall, "Ryn suggests the Gilded Mare. She says it's pretty nice. I'm going to clean up and wear something presentable and we can all have a pleasant evening out. Saersha will miss out but she's probably having fun with Embyr anyway."
Ada Melgath
"Sounds nice. I need to um clean up a bit." She looks around for the wash room, and heads in that direction.
"I won't be very long, and then you can clean up." She blushes, and disappears to clean up.

Azura Celestine
The bard putters around organizing her pack and going through her spare clothes to figure out what she'll wear to supper, as her dirty gambeson isn't exactly the sort of thing one wears about town.
"Are your parents, uh, still around?" she asks as she shakes out a long blue dress.
Ryn Mero
”Yeah, they’re still around. I’ve tried to convince them to retire since the money isn’t really an issue, or stopped being after I started winning in the arena. But I think boredom would get to them, so they still run the same tavern they did when I was growing up, though it’s a little bit nicer now than it was then. Still not the best neighborhood, but anybody who’d get any ideas also knows who their daughter is so…” she says while shrugging.
Reaching into her pack she rifles through, looking for something to change into once she’s done her bath, after a bit of rummaging she smiles, taking out what seems to be a simple white dress, seemingly longer in the back than in front. ”So what about you? Any of your family close or giving them a wide berth because of the whole control thing you were telling me about?”
Zev Kelevra
”Yeah, that sounds good. And yeah, Saersha’s where she wants to be I’d say.” Zev calls back.
”Okay, though don’t rush yourself on my behalf.” he calls out to the librarian as she scurried off.

Your jam session with Mach & Roarus is quite exhilarating! It takes you a minute or two to get into a rhythm that flows well with the songs the albino guitarist prefers, but once you get into that rhythm something clicks inside you.
This is exactly what the rage inside you needed. Not to be channeled through your own body into a blind fury, but to be given an outlet through the primal beating of your drum. You could see its effects reflected in Mach's & Roarus' performances: the guitarist took to his solos with a manic fervor normally only seen in a religious experience, and Roarus' lyrics became less melodic and more relentless as the session went on.
All in all, it was quite a productive period of study. You feel as though you've taken your first step in refining your craft.

"As for my family... it's a little complicated. I still talk to my mother from time to time. My father... he's not always around; he's just busy with his projects. Doing things to help people. I mean, he loves me dearly, I'm his only daughter, but... on some level he knows I don't need him as much as other people do, I guess? But I love seeing him all the same, on rare occasions."
"Grandma, on the other hand, does not. Thinks that he basically 'seduced' mom and then ran off. Mom doesn't see it that way, but she's a priestess, she has duties and responsibilities and she loves my dad but also understands that he has these things that need doing that are bigger picture, and she helps when she can. Grandma hates having someone in the family that she can't control and so mom gets an earful about it all the time and it just makes people sad so mostly mom avoids conflict by not bringing it up and since dad isn't always around too often anyway..."
Azura lets out a hefty sigh. "ANYway that's my family drama. Grandma also tried to control my life, said I had a specific 'direction' and a 'destiny' and she didn't like it when I bucked that. Liked it even less when I 'turned out to be a whore.' Sooo grandma and I don't talk much. She's still the high society dame, the rich older woman who tries to be proper and whatnot. She isn't evil, just... she has ideas about how things should be, and she doesn't like it when they aren't."
"Anyway, yeah, dinner at my family's home is less likely than yours, it sounds like."
The bard brushes out her hair with her hands and undoes the tie that keeps it back out of the way while dungeoneering. "That's also why I left home and was gone from the city for a couple years. I thought about even joining the Mendevian Crusade. But... I'm not really a great warrior, or priestess like my mom, or sorceress. I guess I'm still trying to figure out how to contribute. For now I try to bring a little sunshine into people's lives and help them to understand how to be their best selves, how to accept who they are and love themselves."

”And yeah….I think sitting across the table and wanting to punch your grandma in the mouth the whole time won’t do anyone any good.” she says with a smirk. ”Life’s too short for that crap, surround yourself with people who matter to you, and make the day just a little bit better than it would have been without them.”
She sits back, watching Azura brush her hair as she talks. ”You’re really good at that by the way, the whole bringing sunshine into people’s lives thing. I’m no wallflower by a longshot, but I definitely feel…I don’t know…more….special I guess….when you’re around. It’s like you bring out the best parts of the people you’re around…..it’s pretty amazing to watch actually.” Ryn says with a smile, displaying a hint of shyness despite herself.

"Here, let me help." She sits down and digs into Ryn's calves. "I would imagine that with that armor and all the acrobatic throws of that shield - which are amazing by the way - you get quite the exercise in your legs. Anything special in your diet that helps keep you from getting cramps? I remember one grizzled soldier telling me that bananas - a fruit from Sargava, I think - are good for preventing cramps, but mostly I think he wanted to watch me eat a banana." She slides her hands gently but firmly along Ryn's legs, smoothing the long muscles, working out the fatigue, and pressing in against knots.
"Grandma's just... set, really," she continues while working on the massage. "She's a faithful Abadaran and she believes everything has an order and a place and the gods help you if you step out of it, because she sure won't. She's fond of fiery warnings and aphorisms about a house disordered is a house in decay and it wasn't chaos that chained Rovagug and whatnot. So she always has 'plans' and she gets very upset when people don't adhere to them. Mother became a priestess of Iomedae - which upset grams because she wanted a priestess of Abadar - but my mother is less 'crusader' and more 'healer and counselor.' Anyway she's not really malicious but she's very judgmental - grams I mean, not my mother - and often it's best just not to even get into a conversation with her."
With a mischievous grin she says, "So... you think Ada and Zev are going to 'click'? It's so adorable to watch them interact, but they're both so shy and unused to socializing that I worry that they will miss each others' interest."

Sorry didn't mean to keep you hanging. Crazy busy couple of days, every time I went to post, something came up.
"Yes! Sorry, yes." she says with a bit of a giggle at her own zoning out. "You're damn good at making me speechless." she says with a smile. "So many questions, let's see...... jumping in with both feet.....definitely." she says wiggling her toes. "Casual.....I can do casual.....and yes, in fact, aside from a few almost laughably awkward fumblings early on that helped me figure out what I wasn't into.....I'm very much a girl's girl.

Looks like we're moving on!
Sorry to hear that things have been so rough, Ryn!
After a milk bath that has getting clean as about its tertiary purpose, Azura opts for her long, low-cut blue dress with a golden sash, and a pair of sensible sandals that lace halfway up her calves.
She's all smiles as she clings to Ryn's arm on the walk to the Gilded Mare.
"I'm pretty excited about this, I have to admit," she says. "It'll be a nice change of pace for us all. And a great opportunity to get to know each other outside of mashing monsters! Like, Ada, what kind of hobbies do you have? Those sorts of wonderful camaraderie-building questions."
