From the ground Hassam will attempt to demoralize the remaining attacker.
"Even your best blow cannot keep me down for long and we've got you surrounded!"
Intimidate: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
If successful Hassam will stand up (provoking) and 5ft step away, if it fails Hassam will stay prone.
| DM Amazing Red |
Hassam's threat does seem to affect the Hero, though he stands firm as the bard rises to his feat.

Mrachni kneels and sets about making sure the leader will live so that he can be questioned. The big orc ties the man hand and foot tightly, his face a studied glare. "Are the children safe?" he asks the others.

Niko steps to the south and tries to get in another stab, but misses wildly.
Edit: Niko stabs at the fallen man, but still misses.
Seeing the man go down, Niko rushes back up the stairs to check on the children.

Mrachni wipes off his sword and strides into the room with the children. "The one you saw was not the real Leif. We are here to help you."

"Are you sure?" The little girl asks. Her obviously older brother nods. "You're telling the truth. That bad man threatening us was just trying to make you look bad, huh?" The little girl stops being afraid and walks up to hug the Horc.
As you search the house, you find the children's parents: Arhaneem Braeton and his wife, Canalee. Canalee’s body sits on the floor with her
arm and face draped on the bed. Arhaneem reclines in a chair, with his eyes closed as if resting. Rapiers, wet with sticky blood, hang from their limp grasps—as if they had been fighting and finally succumbed to their wounds.
Roughly ten minutes later Sheriff Feldane arrives, as the neighbors filed a complaint about the noise. "What exactly happened here? That is Borvius Monchello!"
Hassam al-Rashid

"Greetings Sheriff, we were coming here to investigate and found some folks threatening the kids" Hassam points at the 'thugs'
"we fought them off, but the parents were not so lucky. Not only is something horrible wrong here but they were trying to frame us as well, lookin' like ole Leif over there."

I keep thinking I'm a bard and trying diplomatic things, then looking at my character sheet and sighing. I think I'm going to change that after this adventure as part of my lvl 1 rebuild
| DM Amazing Red |
Lol.
Though Hassam stumbles on his words, the Sheriff sees the children nodding in agreement. "That makes sense. Picking the most unlikable one and making him look worse. I might believe that he would terrorize children." She laughes for a moment. "But on a more serious note. This does help with the case against the circus. I can keep this under wraps until morning so you can rest up and deal with these criminals while they're still unaware. You should try his place of business on the docks or the shop his wife owns. For now, we'll interrogate Borvius and release Almara once you've started your strike. Good work and may the gods help you catch those bastards." She calls her men inside to haul away the prisoners.

"That would be very unwise!" calls Mrachni loudly, drawing his sword as he steps to the side and directs his companions' attention to the roof.

Well I'll go with that then.
Mrachni's threat seems to have unnerved them, but they fire anyway!
Hassam starts inspiring his allies and moves forward while drawing a potion.
One of them takes a shot at Hassam while the second fires at Leif. The third one throws down a large ceramic jar that bursts open upon impact. What comes out can only be described as swarm of tiny oozes made of blood.

Leif gives the party a blessing from the Lord in Iron while Mrachni moves forward. Niko fires a shot that connects with T1. Hassam drinks his potion and his form enlarges.
