When it is gone, he looks around a little confused, less loud than before and speaking in a more hushed tone. "My name is Gad Gemple, and I... I am sorry for what I have done here. Please forgive me." The magic is dismissed, and ever so slightly, the energy supporting this dome is starting to fade.

"This may be only ONE of the tethers... I'm sure there's more... Gad, do you know of any others like you who are faithful to Aroden we may be able to call on for aid? After all, we did prove ourselves worthy..."

Gad: "There are many in the cult, too many to name really. Sorry I can't be more help. This whole situation is quite frightening."

Kreighton: "Of course, I am here for assistance. I don't have much magic to spare with this iteration of myself, but here's what I got."

Mechanically, he can cast a total of 10 levels of spells (so 2 wall of stones + bear's endurance, or 1 greater invisibility and 2 fly spells, etc.). It doesn't say when he acts, so I will put him at the end of the first round and have him delay until called upon. He can't provide any support beyond these spells.

Greater invis for the rogues would be epic, though Raven and I can usually cooperate to get flank.

He can EP me if he wants, but by the time he got to it, the fight would be mostly over! (Because there's no sense casting that for me when there are other things to do that are far more valuable, especially when I have a wand for out-of-combat engorgement and a couple more potions if it seems necessary.)


You travel along, again seeing Pathfinders both looking magically and mundane for the vault, again to varying success. You see some fighting smaller dinosaurs, some fighting oozes, and some fighting a few of the Azlanti citizens. You also care a few glimpes of Pathfinders fighting off those with a lime green outline or talking them down.

You travel along and find a woman with a lime green outline. She looks Taldan, but seems to have pretty strong Azlanti features about her. She has a red robe and has gathered a small crowd of Azlanti citizens behind her.

Raising her arms up to the crowd, she proclaims, "Hear me, Lucsuhnollo citizens! Starfall is coming! It's the end times! We must band together and pull together our magic to try to stop this catalysmic event, and part of that is stopping the Pathfinders from their affront on our cause!"

She turns at the party. "Ah, it looks like we have collected some of the Pathfinders! What do you have to say for yourselves? I, Alrule, represent the Azlanti as a true citizen, and you must answer for your assault against us to meet the last Azlanti!" You know that, to be one of the mages who caused this event, there's no way she's actually Azlanti, plus her statement about knowing who the last Azlanti is doesn't make any sense if she's from this time period. She's just Taldan with Azlanti features, so can easily pass off as Azlanti. She is currently fooling the crowd with her heritage, and might snap out of this haze caused by the mana storm if reminded of who she really is.

She seems to have the crowd with her, and one false utterance could cause the situation to go to chaos. Choose your words carefully.

I want to aid Garam in his inevitable Diplomacy roll, but I also want to see if Golsan knows of any gods who ascended via the Starstone, since that would have to have happened after Starfall. Cayden Cailean seems most likely, since his story involves drink and is fairly well-known.

Alrule is assaulted with verbal onslaught of her true past, and recoils at the attempt, pressing her hand to her forehead trying to shake off the words. It seems to be working, but she has not snapped out of it yet.

The crowd cheers for Alrule. "Don't listen to them. They don't know who you are!"

Alrule gets riled by the backing of the crowd. She fights back with a quick jab. "Pathfinders! You don't know the troubles that these people will face, myself included among them! It is the end times for all of them, and I am the Harbinger who has come to rescue them from their fate!"

Alrune is taken aback by Garam's logic, and looks towards the crowd. Ever so slightly, the lime green aura around her starts to fade.

She turns to the crowd with a sorrowful look, "I am sorry for deceiving you all. I am not who I said I was, and it took these Pathfinders for me to realize that I am not Azlanti at all. Please, leave us be and go home to be safe."

She turns to the party and adds, "I think this foul magic is at play, and it messed with my head. That you for showing me who I really was." With a couple waves of her arm, the lime green aura completely disappears, and again, ever so slightly the magic here seems less powerful.

Where to next? Apparently I am supposed to encourage people to search for the vault at this point, but I'll leave the choice up to you.

Aru looks to the woman and gives her a skeptical look. "This /foul/ magic you speak of... Do you remember some sort of leader? Or someone you talked to that maybe made you think these things? You see, we're trying to help keep this horrible event from happening and we could use some leads. Do you have any idea where the magic is coming from?"

Aru watched Garam, seeing as he may have an idea of where to go from here. After all, he /is/ the main magic user.

If she doesn't help, I'm cool with going to find the vault. I just know Aru wouldn't be particularly useful except for a decent perception check when the dice are on my side.

Looking at Alrune Garam sighs slightly, do you have anything which might help us find the Vault and put an end to this?

I might be able to so something which can help...

Stepping back Garam sweeps his arms wide and begins a long dolorous chant. The ground trembles, cracks run through the earth all around him and slowly a number of rocky humanoids appear. He swiftly casts a second spell and addresses the creatures in a rumbling language full of deep growls and rumbling grunts.

Hassari, can you Haste my minions please, it may well help

In a moment the creatures vanish into the ground.

Garam will cast Summon Monster 6, summoning 1d4+1 medium earth elementals. He will then cast Message on them and direct them to search the surrounding area as swiftly as they can looking for any disturbances in the earth. With Haste they have a burrow speed of 40', earth glide and tremorsense 60' although they will only last for 1 minute (hence message so they can report back as they search).

Number of Summons: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
