GM Andrew |
Ack. Sorry Hassari. Didn't see you were getting both.
Will Save: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (1) + 16 = 17 ....LOL
It is also blind!
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Garam tries to encase the winged serpent in ice.
Fort Save: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
It is encased in ice, and it falls to the ground.
Fall Damage (to both tomb and couatl): 2d6 ⇒ (1, 1) = 2
As it begins to crack, the blue Serpentfolk says something.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Orange's Turn
It charges the ice tomb.
Bite Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14
Bite Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Yellow's Turn
It also charges the ice tomb.
Bite Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 23
Bite Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13
It does not see Aru hiding there.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Red's Turn
It remains encased in ice.
Will Save vs. Glitterdust: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (19) + 16 = 35

Lightfoot Raven clears his eyes then stabs the Serpentfolk. It isn't happy.

Hassari readies for spellcasting.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Blue's Turn
The chain flails around, now aiming for Golsan.
Chain of Perdition (Dirty Trick): 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (17) + 12 = 29
Pft. I think that barely gets it with Protection from Evil? This chain is rolling like a boss.
Golsan is temporarily blinded.
The Serpentfolk then begins to cast a spell-like ability, and is interrupted by Hassari!
Mirror Image: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Mirror Image: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Third attack roll misses the Serpentfolk's touch entirely, but takes out an image, leaving the Serpentfolk with no images left.

Golsan |
It's vs. CMD, right? My CMD is 28 with PfE, but yes, that hits. I forgot that deflection bonuses affected CMD. I'll adjust that in the status line.
Benefit: In melee, every time you miss because of concealment (see Combat), you can reroll your miss chance percentile roll one time to see if you actually hit.
An invisible attacker gets no advantages related to hitting you in melee. That is, you don't lose your Dexterity bonus to Armor Class, and the attacker doesn't get the usual +2 bonus for being invisible. The invisible attacker's bonuses do still apply for ranged attacks, however.
You do not need to make Acrobatics skill checks to move at full speed while blinded.
Normal: Regular attack roll modifiers for invisible attackers trying to hit you apply, and you lose your Dexterity bonus to AC. The speed reduction for darkness and poor visibility also applies.
Special: The Blind-Fight feat is of no use against a character who is the subject of a blink spell.
Garam Gallonica |
Before I post my action for this turn I would like to see if I can identify what blue is casting. I will use investigative mind to roll twice on it
Spellcraft: 2d20 ⇒ (8, 13) = 21, take best +19-6 for distance for 26
@Golsan, haste will also add to CMD, not sure if you have included it
Garam Gallonica |
Beware everyone! That serpent priest is trying to dominate someone. I will try and shut him down but if I fail take care, guard your minds!
With that Garam flies forward and up to the same height as the priest and engulfs him in ice and snow.
I fly forward and get on a level with the priest, which I think is 20' high. Ice Tomb hex, even if it makes the save the damage might disrupt its spellcasting. DC24 fortitude save.
Cold damage: 3d8 ⇒ (1, 6, 8) = 15
Assuming he takes all of the damage I think that also forces a DC30 concentration check to keep the spell
Golsan |
When Golsan hears Garam's warning, he screams at the caster and brandishes his sword in the general direction he remembers to be his. "I will kill every one of your minions, then I'm coming for you! I'm the most dangerous thing you've ever seen, and YOU CAN'T STOP ME!"
to no mechanical effect
GM Andrew |
Garam, deciding he doesn't want of his teammates dominated, tries to encase the priest in ice.
Fort Save: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18
And does so.
Just going to rule that casting is done for that SLA. There's no way to finish the spell.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Orange's Turn
This one full attacks the ice surrounding the bird.
Bite Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (20) + 12 = 32

Claw Attack 1: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27

It breaks the ice and inches closer.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Yellow's Turn
It steps up to Golsan, full attacking.
Bite Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (18) + 12 = 30
Bite Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Claw Attack 1: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16
Claw Damage 1: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Claw Attack 2: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13
Claw Damage 2: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
It sinks its teeth into him, and venom runs off its fangs. Fort Save vs. Poison from Golson.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Red's Turn
Finally free from ice, it takes a step back and tries to Scorching Ray the one who put it there.
Scorching Ray Attack (Cover): 1d20 + 14 - 4 ⇒ (4) + 14 - 4 = 14
Mirror Image: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Scorching Ray Attack (Cover): 1d20 + 14 - 4 ⇒ (20) + 14 - 4 = 30
Mirror Image: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Both rays end up taking out the same image. It's simultaneous, so it would be the same roll for all of them I guess? Scorching Ray vs. Mirror Image is weird.

Also, @Aru, you wouldn't have been able to snipe from your position because you had no cover from anywhere from where you were. So, I assumed you'd want to get back in hiding, so put you on the other side of the rock as your move action, and you are not stealthed right now until your next turn. Hopefully that's what you would want. ;)
Golsan |
Fort Save vs. Poison: 1d20 + 14 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 14 + 2 = 26 <--Good enough. Looking at spoiler.
Golsan recoils from an awful bite, his muscles burning but proving more resilient than the fangs' venom, and he feels claws raking across his armor. He reaches out to swing at the source of the attack.
Remember that images won't matter. They'll neither effect me nor will any of my attacks effect them.

Golsan |
Actually, Raven, I took out an image on a 16 on white. If orange is the same, you might have taken out two of them. Oh, a fumble. How do fumbles interact with mirror images, I wonder...
Lightfoot Raven |
I wouldn't expect a 1 on the die to be able to take one out though.
GM Andrew |
Golsan blindly swings at the Serpentfolk with mutated yellow skin, and takes it out on the first two swings.
@Golsan: Also, keep in mind he had charged when you took out one image on a 16. :p
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Lightfoot Raven stabs at the Serpentfolk with mutated orange skin, and takes out an image.

White's Turn
It follows in the footsteps of the one missing and full attacks on Golsan, blindly.

I wonder what happens to the chain now. Does it just sit there? Does it do whatever it was told to do last time constantly until it times out? Have I got a new pet? I'm curious! (And it would be funny if I had to keep my eyes closed the whole encounter!)
Solomon Goodman |
You hear the sound of feet on pavement approaching from the hallway behind you, followed by the sound of a warhorn. Once the call clears, a booming voice of a half-orc announces his presence.
"Silver Crusader Solomon Goodman of the sixth regiment reporting! I've been sent on behalf of Commander Kreighton Shain to provide support!"

The Couatl rolls out of the way of some of the damage.
Reflex (Blue): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17
The priest bursts out of the ice, but takes the full damage. Necromatic energy seals some of its wounds. Forgot to apply that last time so will apply it this time.

Not having the time or space to worry if Hassari has warded off the serpent priest Garam swiftly chants, arcane runes surround his hands and flow towards the enemy, expanding and swiftly flickering through all the colours of the rainbow. A silent explosion engulfs the enemy, searing their eyes and seeking to blind them.
Casting Persistent Glitterdust, centred between red and orange it should hit both of them as well as white. DC21 will save, if they pass they must save again. I assume there is no way to tell if Hassari failed the save, Sense Motive normally takes a minute to detect enchantments.
Golsan |
Could be worse, I guess. He could've suggested that you left a lamp burning in your barracks and should go make sure it's out. That would remove you from the game!

He moves into position to threaten both white and orange, then turns to white to hit him HARD!
+1 Kn/Ad GSwd(S) - Haste, IC PA, FF, VS, DS, OC: 1d20 + 21 + 1 + 3 - 3 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 21 + 1 + 3 - 3 + 3 = 45
Damage: 2d6 + 2d6 + 13 + 3 + 9 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (6, 3) + (5, 3) + 13 + 3 + 9 + 2 + 3 = 47
Confirm Crit: 1d20 + 21 + 1 + 3 - 3 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 21 + 1 + 3 - 3 + 3 + 2 = 28
Win some, lose some!
Also, edited to remove +2 to attack for blind opponent. That's if I'm invisible, I think. Blind takes it from your AC. Doesn't matter, it's a nat 20. But anyway...
BS - Backswing
DS - Devastating Strike
FF - Furious Focus
GS - Greater Sunder
GSwd(S) - Greatsword (Slashing)
IC - Inspire Courage
Kn - Keen
OC - Overhand Chop
PA - Power Attack
PD - Pile Driver
SS - Shattering Strike
VS - Vital Strike
Garam Gallonica |
It is but sense motive says it takes a minute of interaction to make the check which is why I didn't roll.
Golsan |
Nothing I could do. I considered moving up to you to disrupt casting, but I figured that would be really, really meta. The command was probably in draconic (since we haven't heard common from them yet), so I wouldn't understand it, and sense motive takes a full minute to get information.
actually, if it wasn't in a shared language, you're probably just fine!
GM Andrew |
@Garam: Yes, you're right. Thanks. Yes, the only people who know whether he failed or succeeded would be the caster and himself unless some identifying happened.
@Hassari: You aren't prevented from speaking. Just commanded for your next turn. :p
@Golsan: Hrm. I always thought you did get that +2 when they were blind, but can't find that source now. Also, for some reason ancient things speak Common... who knew?
Garam Gallonica |
On the blind thing, its lose dex and take a further -2 to AC (which also applies to CMD) rather than invisibles +2 to hit. They are functionally the same.
Golsan |
The important thing is that we don't take it off both ends. Since I'm listing every bonus, it's pretty likely that Andrew would catch it (if it mattered, which it didn't), but I like to be accurate just in case.
Lightfoot Raven |
Raven actually gets angry, showing more emotion than the entire day - or week - for a few short moments.
"BACK OFF".
He steps back and lets loose on Orange.

Raven's drug induced perception seems to serve him well as he attempts to filet the serpentfolk.
Lightfoot Raven |
Oh yeah, Fort Save which won't effect any of the above
Fort: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
GM Andrew |
Golsan cleaves the Serpentfolk with mutated White skin in twain with a single blow.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Lightfoot Raven takes out his own serpentfolk as well on the first blow.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
@Hassari: He said "witch friend" so he's referring to Garam, not Golsan. Not sure if you typed the wrong name.

"They dressed me up this way."
Seriously, though, nothing prevents you from lining up your shot to include other bad guys. Even blue. You're not charmed. Be the genie! Flip the wish!
