Sharna:
Ra reports back to you that the beastmen are attacking the people at the building. They appear to be trying to torch the building.

As you all approach the waystation, you note the smell of smoke and the sounds of yelling, grunting and metal clanging. The ground near the waystation glow orange as the fires on the walls reflect off nearby snow. A handful of beastmen are formed around the building, and the men inside rush out in hastily donned gear and equipment.

"The beastmen are attacking," Sharna says tersely, telling everyone what they already know.

She briefly scans the battlefield, such as it is, and then gestures and speaks. A burst of golden light appears behind the nearest clump of fighting beastmen, but back enough to avoid hitting the people trying to defend the station.

Casting Glitterdust, will save DC 17, on the nearest clump of three beastmen. I think I can hit three and not hit any of the humans, but I'll settle for two if I can't.

Ra shrieks insults in Bird-ese from the safety of Sharna's shoulder.

As the party runs into range to be combat effective, they are met with a foul odor. All members manage to shrug it off.

Jory lets loose a hail of arrows, his second arrow impacts the side of the building, but the rest find their mark and drop one of the warriors.

Volkard lets loose with his Stinking Cloud and everything in its radius (with the exception of just one of the warriors) begins to dry heave where they stand.

Markavious lets loose his magic missiles, damaging two of the beastmen.

Merisiel sprints forward across the ice, impaling her rapier upon the nearest beastman. It roars, turns to face her with a gurgle, then drops to the ground and stops breathing.

Tyrion runs forward, his falcata managing to strike a glancing blow, and manages to remove a chunk of the warrior's flesh. It turns to face him, it's hot stinky breath sticking to Tyrion's face, unaffected by the cloud. It steps out of the cloud and begins to attack, slamming on dwarf's armor like a drum and biting on his helm. His inability to penetrate only serves to enrage him further.

The beastman and station-goers do their best to leave the cloud and continue to dry heave.

Sharna looks thoughtfully at the battlefield arrangement then steps forward about ten feet in the snow. Hmm. Yes. The beastmen are in a convenient line...

She takes no joy in what she's about to do, but she doesn't speak Grunt-And-Howl to warn the beastmen to flee before they are all destroyed. If all they understand is brute violence, then she will, by necessity, respond with such, before the lives of the people at the waystation pay the cost.

Briefly, Sharna's eyes burn with a blue-white light, before her fingers erupt with a powerful line of electrical energy.

Lightning bolt, 120 foot line, hitting 4 beastmen. You left me such a perfect arrangement...

Reflex Save DC 18 for half damage: 9d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 3, 4, 6, 2, 6, 5, 3) = 33

To the humans fighting the beastmen, she calls, "Is anyone still left inside the structure?"


One of the closer humans manages to struggle words out:

*cough* "Rysam" *cough* "Rysan Aklon" *cough* "others" *pant* *loud inhale* *cough* "Trying to put out fire" he says quickly.

He then turns and vomits onto the icy ground.

Seeing where Sharna fired off her Lightning Bolt, Markavious will place an Empowered Acidball: 10d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 2, 6, 6, 6, 3, 5, 5, 6) = 43+21+25=89(Ref 22) just to right of the last one to be hit by Sharna's lightning Bolt.

Two of Jorys arrows find their mark, dropping a beastman.

Markavious drops an acidball on a large portion of the area east of Cania's Drop. When it clears, all that remains is melted ice and dead mangy corpses.

A line of electricity arcs through the battlefield, bisecting the acid cloud. In its wake, two beastmen are singed and the smell of burning hair and ozone helps to overcome the power of their stench. It hits the one Tyrion is fighting, and the dwarf takes advantage of the beastman's pain, severing its head from it's body. The other also moves to take cover from the newcomers behind a human who is doubled over, gasping for air.

Merisiel runs forward, her rapier impaling a beastman in front of her. It continues to back away from the cloud, unable to stop its retching.

Jory's arrows find their mark, impaling the beastmen from range. Volkard's magic missiles find their mark on the other and the last of the beatsmen fall.

Sharna enveloops Merisiel in a bubble of clean air and she runs into the building. As she calls out, she hears the voice of Aklon as he works with a few other men and women to extinguish the fire from inside the building. "Don't just stand there! Get a bucket!"

Tyrion starts to run forward but notices the lack of targets standing.

The building continues to burn. The humans around you stop their dry-heaving, but they stand at the outskirts of the cloud, ready to run back in and put out the flames as soon as they can. "Thank you! various patrons call out at you. "Save the waystation!" say others.

Technically, we're out of combat, but stuff is still happening so we'll stay in initiative for a moment.

Lol. Brownie points for creativity... but alas, no. Firefighters fight fire with fire, pathfinders fight fire with cold/water spells. Or a bucket. Or maybe profession(fire-person). :)

Jory has a waterskin and can be quite fast for a dwarf.

He rushes to help put out the fire. Wiser than many sages, Jory thinks of any way to stop the fire.

Jory, Stinking cloud is still up for another two rounds. Assuming Jory still tries to brave it and help...

Jory runs forward, knowing that there must be some sort of water container for the dogs that are held at the way station. He tries to hold his breath, but the cloud burns his eyes and his nostrils, causing him to lose focus. Jory is nauseated until he leaves the cloud, and for two turns after.

Tyrion casts create water from the safety of the cloud's perimeter, and aids in dousing the flames.

Today, your DM learns that 1.) A typical bucket holds 1-2 gallons of water. 2.) Create water is 2 gallons per level.

Sharna quickly surveys the scene-- available water sources, the deadly stinking cloud....

With the effort of thought, she arises into the air. She can toss her waterskin onto the blazing building, but that won't do much. Hmm. She... has an idea, but she may need to be stronger than she currently is.

Standard action to activate flight hex, move action to draw potion of enlarge person.

"Does anyone have spells to make me stronger?" she yells.

Volkard and Markavious keep wary eyes but see no other threats.

Merisiel catches a bucket from one of the other people in the way station and helps to fight the fire.

The fire still rages, diminished where water has doused flames, but still trying to grow.

Sharna drinks her potion of enlarge person and then moves towards the water trough that the waystation kept on hand to keep the beasts watered. It's sort of a weird sight watching her become twice her starting size as she floats through the air.

Ra makes a noise of distress, not understanding why Mistress is growing.

Unturned by the challenge before her, Merisiel continues to try and put out the fire, hoping the inferno will be sweltered soon.

Taking a look outside, she sees Sharna get much larger and move towards the water trough. "Good idea Sharna!"

An enlarged Sharna moves towards a water trough that the way station uses for the dog teams while Merisiel continues to fight the fire.

Tyrion easily notices flames on the roof and an exterior wall, and uses a spell to rain down on the flames, dousing them substantially.

The fire still continues to try and grow.

The Stinking Cloud disperses.

Giant!Sharna lifts a water trough! Or tries to. Her strength is currently greater than it normally is, but she's still not exactly brawny.

Per OOC discussion with GM, I think we settled on about 15 gallons in the trough being what Sharna could feasibly move/lift with a 12 STR. GM discretion applies to whatever amount gets dumped!

Huffing, Giant!Sharna drags the trough, spilling some of the water out into the snow, until she can up-end over the most central part of the fire. Sploosh!

Volkard, there are many injured from the beastmen, but thanks to the party's intervention, those that weren't outright killed in the attack's initial moments were saved from grievous harm.

The remainder of the party aids in fighting the fire, Merisiel and Markavious grabbing buckets and throwing them on the walls. The enlarged flying witch drags a trough through the air, and overturns it on the flaming roof. The water douses the flames on the top. Inside, Merisiel helps Rysam extinguish the flames.

Combat Over.

Rysam huffs momentarily, and slaps Merisiel on the back. "Thank you lass! Without your help, Cania's Drop would surely be lost!"

Similar sentiments are shared to the fire-fighting heros outside.

"We will throw a feast for our heroes!" Rysam shouts to a gathering crowd as he hears stories of the fight and the timely intervention of the party. "We are forever in your debt."

As the crowd celebrates, he takes the party aside for a moment. "Also, if you don't mind... the way station needs some repairs, you could help us further. Or at least help prevent any beastmen attacks. It would be appreciated.

"Normally they don't attack us, especially not in large numbers. Not sure what has them riled up so much right now. Better safe than sorry though, and having you around will make everyone feel safer." the bearded man responds to Markavious.
