Cania's Drop
Hi all!
I've been wanting to take a stab at GMing a PbP game for a while now, so here we go.
I'm looking for six players who'll dare to climb to the highest regions of the Fog Peaks in search of ancient knowledge...
Sounds fun, I do not get much of a chance to play higher tier stuff.
My only true problem is I don't have any access to character creation software, even freeware or browser stuff is kinda off limits for me. I hope that doesn't keep me from playing though.
From what I'm seeing in your small starting post and the title of the adventure, I'd think a Ranger would be a good start.
My first question, though, is what kind of build requirements/restrictions are we given? What if I want to play a Big Game Hunter? That should get your GM gears spinning.
What about sources? I don't have access to 3rd party stuff, otherwise I'd request using a race from Louis-Porter Design.
More info please?
And count me in!!

Level 6 inquisitor available :)
I have a level 5 zen archer available. He is just completing the traitor's lodge.
GM Skipper wrote: This a PFS game, so you'll need a PFS legal character. Only guy I have at that level that is PFS I don't have the character sheet to. I'd gladly take a Pregen. It might take me a bit to get set up due to some restrictions on the computers I work with, but I'd love to get involved.
If you think it would be too much trouble to get me involved, I understand. Just let me know
@Jory Redcap: Ooh that one's fun! Let me know when you're good to go.
@SinBlade06: No worries. Just pick a pregen and let me know which one you chose.
This guy just got out of the confirmation so still should be level 1. Will update him as soon as the DM hands out the update for him.
Edit: Nevermind Level 5-9.
I think I'm gonna go with the iconic Rogue, Merisil. My first PFS character was a rogue and even though I lost the character sheet for him long ago, and been hearing the call of the shadows for a while.
I'll whip up an alias and be ready when we start!
@DM: Can we do this without 6 players?
All my in-tier characters are otherwise involved...but I'll play a pregen to help get this game off the ground; assuming having two pregens wouldn't be too much of a detriment to success.
Season 0 is made for 4 characters, we should be fine :).
Volkard would like to apply.
Level 5 Wizard.
Right now I count
lvl 6 inquisitor
lvl 5 zen archer
lvl 5 wizard
lvl 7 rogue pregen
lvl 7 x pregen (healer maybe? ;))
Whatever markavious is playing.
Looks like a full group, tier 5-6

I am a level 9 Wizard
Merisiel is ready, more or less. I'll do some fine tuning for the actual statblock later, but I'm ready when you guys are.
Are we gonna get credit for this adventure? Yes or no, doesn't matter to me.
If you get a drop and need a fill, let me know (preferably via PM): I have a level 5 summoner, level 6 cleric, level 7 bard-barian....
Dien...since you've got non-pregen characters available I'll stand aside for you.
Level 9 character if you have space
The final tally:
Markavious The Green, Wizard 9
Merisiel (SinBlade06), Rogue 7
Tyrion-RK, Inquisitor 5
Jory Redcap, Monk 5
Volkard Grymhaldt, Wizard 5
dien, TBA
I'll connect the gameplay thread etc. tomorrow evening my time (GMT+2). We'll be playing sub-tier 5-6 regardless of dien's choice of character.
Cheers, Deane! I appreciate it.
Since Inquisitor is still our only CLW-capable class, I'll be bringing Skipper Daytripper, a tiny and annoyingly-cheerful cleric.
Two wizards! That's exciting. You guys can spell-swap!
I'm level 6 ;)
I think we could use someone else who is up front Dien, though a cleric would be nice as well.
Yeah, I was considering a frontliner too, but on the whole I think the ability to heal damage (and other effects) may be more useful than the ability to soak damage.
If you y'all really want the front-liner, I can bring Conan O'Brien. Or, heck, even though the summoner is Level 5, the eidolon has a higher AC than the bard-barian, haha.
You guys choose, I'm happy playing whoever.
eta I just looked at your sheet, Tyrion-- AC 26? :P YOU are our frontliner.
Tyrion-RK wrote: I'm level 6 ;) Whoops! My bad... That actually means if dien brings the barbarian you'll have the option to play up (APL 6,5 exactly).
Ooochhh... regardless of which I bring, I kinda vote against playing up. A level 5 wizard's gonna be kinda squishy against the sort of threats we're likely to run into at an 8-9 table, I think. It sucks when one solid hit wipes out a lower-level character at the table.
Still leaning towards my cleric, honestly, but again, I defer to the party at large.
eta OTOH, it is Season 0, heh.
Dien: a cleric is always handy, I had one save my bacon in "King of the Storval Stairs".
I've heard that one starts out brutal, though I've yet to play it.
I am a big fan of playing up, but we can go tier 5-6.
Jory usually is out front to scout. Hopefully we have some haste to speed us up. I have a wand of mage armor--feel free to use it for everyone.
Well, I'd like to hear from Volkard as the other one of the lowest level PCs, to know if he's comfortable bringing his level 5 into a 8-9 game.
Keep in mind we'd be an 8-9 table with the strongest healing source being wands/Tyrion's CMW, since I'd have to be playing my bard-barian to pull off the 8-9.
....though if we DO want to play up, I could bring my level 9 witch, and then we have a somewhat-solid healer along.
ARGH DECISIONS
If it helps your decision making, I can say that most of the combats are cakewalks, but there is one potentially hard one. Oh, and ranks in Handle Animal might be useful as well.
LOL, I think all my peeps are fairly mediocre at HA, alas. Even my nature-y ones.
Nah, in all seriousness, I'll wait for Volkard to weigh in, as I said. If he says he's down with playing up, then I may bring my witch. If he says he's not, then it'll be the cleric, most likely.

I generally keep one Haste memorized.
I don't mind playing up, but then, I won't we near the front lines.
Tier 8-9 it is then!
I've started the gameplay thread, so go on over and itroduce your characters. The discussion is open as well.
