Dragonkin and Dragon Gland, do they go together?

Rules Questions

So... Basically I noticed that Dragon Gland has a better dice pool than Dragonkin's natural Breath Weapon, but the Dragonkin's Breath Weapon gets a "Unique Weapon Specialization" bonus essentially, that gives one and a half times level.

The thought that occurs to me, how would this work if a Dragonkin grabbed a Dragon-Gland Biotech?
Would they get the dice of the new gland and the specialization of the old breath weapon?
Would they get two breath weapons with the specialization to both?
One breath using the new dice with no specialization?
Or two breaths with the specialization applying only to the origional one?

Its a question of how exactly the rules interact here.

Personally I think allowing the specialization to apply to the new breath would probably put the damage in line with similar weapons like the flamethrower in terms of damage.

The Dragonkin's breath weapon does not gain specialization (Note that the wording is not similar to the Vesk natural weapons trait, which specifically says specialization), it gets a unique scaling damage bonus based on level. There is no reason to believe the damage bonus from one ability applies to a biotech-based breath weapon, either from a RAW rules standpoint OR from a flavor/RAI standpoint.

You would have two completely separate abilities.

There is no interaction. You would have the dragon glad function exactly as it would on any other character, and the dragonkin breath weapon function as it would for any generic dragonkin.

Huh... I see...

Shame, but fair enough.

Sad thing is, one quick calculation later, and I find you're still better off using the Bio-Tech than the Dragonkin Breath.

... Though I guess having two breaths is better than having one.

Don't have the archive book, havnt read the dragonkin stat block. But couldnt you rule that if the damage type is the same (fire/fire, not fire/cold) that you can use linked weapons rule from starships, balanced with credit costs to the player?

Since it's an item, I doubt that any of the dragonkin's racial traits would apply to it.
