Multi-Classing Archetypes

Hey all, I'm a second level Paladin. I originally wanted to be an Empyreal Knight (Ultimate Combat) but saw that the archetype did not offer basic Paladin skills (smite, healing, etc) at early levels. Can I multiclass in an archetype? I'd love the early levels of the Paladin feats with the cool summon celestial beings at later levels.

No an archetype is still the same class so you cannot multiclass them. When you take an archetype it is all or nothing.

Can take a level or 4 in a related class though. Warpriest and Vigilante both have archetypes that get accesss to smite.
