...or whatever that guy with the sliced wrists was named.
So, here's the deal:
I encounter a bane, and for whatever reason, I don't want the Emo Blessing to be on top of the blessings discard pile (TBD, for short). I also happen to have the Imp, who has the power:
"...if the top card of the blessings discard pile is Corrupted, reveal this card and discard a card to add that blessing to your hand and immediately play it."
Huh, sounds like a lucky break, right? Not so fast, buster, this is still WotR after all! The card *beneath* the Emo Blessing is NOT Corrupted, but here's what the Emo Blessing says (that's most relevant to my case):
"If the top card of the blessings discard pile has the Corrupted trait, discard this card to add 1 die to any check."
So, here's how I *imagine* it should work:
1) Emo Blessing is TBD - CORRUPTED
2) I reveal Imp and discard a card to draw Emo Blessing
3) I am now supposed to immediately play Emo Blessing, but...
4) TBD now is a non-Corrupted card; I cannot currently satisfy ANY of the conditions to play Emo Blessing
5) I "ignore impossible instructions" and Emo Blessing remains in my hand
Basically, I have two question how this could/should've played out:
A) Does "play immediately" mean I ignore the Emo Blessing's demand for a Corrupted TBD (which would mean the Imp is sort of an 'override' for this limitation, that doesn't sit well with me for some reason) ?
B) If the answer to A) is NO (the way *I'm* reading it) - am I allowed at all to play the Imp and retrieve Emo Blessing - even though I full well know this will result in an "impossible instruction" to play it?

Arueshalaue used the Imp and her "and you may treat the top card of the blessings discard pile as if it has the Corrupted trait" ability to acquire several blessings in that manner - Terendelev being the sweetest. :)
She had a lot of fun with that ability and Blessings of Nocticula too. Even discarded them to go again with the Imp (though they're so strong, that was rare).
