A different aid another question

I heard a rumor that you can only aid up to making the primary's die roll a 20. Does this have any factual basis?

Sounds like a house rule.

The rules for Aid Another can be found on this page of the PRD towards the bottom. There is no such restriction listed, and I have never heard of one being applied.

It's not unreasonable as a house rule though.
