Questions for my Unchained Monk

Rules Questions

Question #1: If I gain a feat from the Qinggong Power Ki Power, do I count as having it when it comes to prerequisites?

For example, if I gain Power Attack using that Ki Power, am I allowed to take Jabbing Master (Presuming all other prerequisites are met, of course)?

Question #2: This is my understanding of having Jabbing Style and Jabbing Master:
First hit on a target: No effect
Second hit on a target: +2d6 damage
Third+ hits on a target: +4d6 damage each

So with four total hits on the same target the feats would give a combined +10d6 damage.

Is this understanding correct?

Question #3: If I hit an opponent with Punishing Strike to force said opponent back five feet, would Jabbing Dancer allow for me to move five feet with them and continue attacking them?

Question #4: How, if at all, do retraining options that add to the character instead of replace things relate to Wealth By Level Guidelines? For example, if a character would have spent 900 gp on +hp retraining, does that consume 900 gp of that character's Wealth by Level?

Thank you very much for your time.

#1: No, because the description for Qinggong Monk says "These ki powers duplicate the effects of specific feats." - you don't possess the feats, you only gain their effects.

#2: Completely correct.

#3: If you mean Punishing Kick I presume? I'd say yes. Punishing Kick moves the target as part of the attack, then Jabbing Dancer's gets resolved. AoOs have specific wording and an FAQ that say they get resolved before the triggering action - since other triggered action don't have suck text, I'd say they get resolved afterwards.

#4: Wealth by level is not a hard rule but a mere guideline. It's basically used for two things: Starting wealth of characters starting above first level, and as a help for the GM to see if he should increase or decrease loot in a standard campaign without adjustments.

Liberty's Edge

Note that a Qinggong Monk only has Power Attack for one round at a time after spending ki.

The general lean of the rules on pre-requisites is that you need to have them 'nearly full time' in order to take the feat. Conversely, once you HAVE the feat you only need the pre-req when you are actually trying to USE it.

Thus, you have two problems here even if your GM doesn't subscribe to Derklord's 'having effects of feat != having feat' interpretation;

First, some GMs wouldn't allow you to use Qinggong Power Attack to meet pre-reqs because it has limited usage.

Second, if your GM does allow you to learn Jabbing Style (either because they think Qinggong Power Attack is enough or because you somehow temporarily increased your access to Power Attack) you would then ONLY be able to use that style while Power Attack was active... meaning you'd need to burn ki for it every round you wanted to use Power Attack OR Jabbing Style.

Note: Qinggong monks (and Unchained Monks taking Qinggong powers) can get the Deny Death and Ki Stand feats with no ki cost... meaning they have those effects available all the time. Those two would thus be better candidates for meeting pre-reqs.

The Exchange Owner - D20 Hobbies

1) You'd need to burn kk for power attack to use jabbing master.

4) Ask your GM

Thank you very much for your help. :)

And yes, I meant Punishing Kick.
