The Spirit Ally feat from Haunted Heroes Handbook says it has a prerequisite of "Caster level 8th," but in the text, it states "This acts as a constant unseen servant spell, using your character level as your effective caster level." Am I correct in reading the latter statement as only applying to the effects once the feat is taken, not to the prerequisite? My incredibly lazy fighter 6/sorcerer 2 will be very sad if that's the case. He has a wand of unseen servant, but it only lasts for an hour at a time, and of course, it doesn't get the increased strength of the spirit ally.

Your reading is correct; your guy will be sad.

Ah, well. Nice thing about being a half-orc fighter (with a touch of infernal-blooded sorcerer) - he can always hit something to make himself feel better.

Another question about this feat: does the persistent unseen servant follow you, or reappear when you stop moving? Or is it only "continuous" if you stay in one place or cut your move speed to 15 for the whole day?
