October has just begun, but it's time for terror in Legendary Land!

- Today brings the latest Mythic Mini devoted to feats of horror, just $1 for 10 malevolent mythic feats like Horrific Gorging and Exsanguinate! If you haven't picked up the earlier issues, we're doing the feats alphabetically, and you can pick up all three that are already out right now:
99: Horror Feats A-B
100: Horror Feats C-E
101: Horror Feats E-I

- A fantastic fall preview of upcoming October products, like Mythic Monsters: Halloween for Pathfinder, and Gothic Grimoires for 5th Edition!

Check out the latest from Legendary right here and may your October be superlatively spooky!

I checked out the description for Mythic Monsters: Halloween, and it looks pretty good. I was esepcially amused by the 'mythic mobs'. I imagine that they're troops?

Scarab Sages Contributor, RPG Superstar 2008 Top 4, Legendary Games

They are indeed! Here's their flavor text:

Torch-wielding mobs typically arise when ordinary villagers are frightened or angry enough to take up arms against something that strange and disturbing in their midst. They might rise up in small hamlets and isolated rural settlements where old folkways hold firm and those that violate them must be taught the error of their ways, whether being driven away or executed. Such mobs may be incited to anger by agents provocateur, or may simply be whipped into a frenzy by their own prejudices and xenophobia. Taking up weapons and whatever scraps of armor they can find, sometimes robing and masking themselves in crude costumes to hide their identity, the members of a torch-wielding mob raise torches to light their way to find the objects of their hate and suspicion, and to threaten them with death and destruction.

In addition to such relatively prosaic mobs forming out of ignorance and hidebound traditionalism, there are far more sinister cults and secret societies that cultivate squads of elite warriors and fanatical followers that they unleash upon anyone that might foil their plans or thwart their designs. Such elite mobs are far more destructive and are obsessed with purging the world of those not like them, or that their leaders have decreed are enemies of the faith or otherwise stand in the way of their group's goals. Fanatic mobs are almost always elaborately robed and masked to indicate their allegiance and to intimidate their enemies, while hiding their identity from their enemies. Such powerful mobs are primarily warriors but often have among their members those with sufficient magic power to compel their enemies to aid them in their acts of vengeance.

Mythic Monsters: Halloween sounds spectacular. Just in time for my mythic players horror themed sessions.

What leaped to my mind was the museum scene in The Mummy...

IM-HO-TEP!
IM-HO-TEP!
IM-HO-TEP!

Or, substitute the chanted name of your favorite demon lord/Great Old One/BBEG here...

That sounds about right. :)

Sounds delicious on both counts. I've just started a Red Throne campaign, so I'll definitely get the Red Throne products.

Excellent, I need some mythic maggot Halloween goodness for my players this weekend. Repulsive reproduction might end up being the key phrase of the night...

Jason - question about 5E. Will we ever see a Mythic Monsters for 5E? You know, Legendary Monsters, hint hint...

So, I have a confession, I've been up since 4am and when I posted this was in a fugue state and completely failed to connect the dots between Beasts of Legend and Mythic Monsters, albeit most of the Beasts of Legends don't have legendary abilities. Honestly, I think someone hijacked my hands and keyboard and typed that question without my permission.

But are there plans for epic level bestiary supplements for 5e? Thanks for putting up with my sleep deprived ridiculousness.

Ha, no worries. We do have plans for continuing our monster supplements for 5E. We could introduce the idea of mythic monsters into 5E and there's plenty of design space there, though on a certain level the idea of monsters that do more things runs counter to the underlying philosophy of 5E. We'll continue playing in the monster space and bringing cool stuff your way, but how we want to attack that particular question we haven't settled yet.

But yes... MORE EPIC MONSTERS are somewhere on the horizon!
