Vampire Corruption question

Rules Questions

Silver Crusade

So the horror rule-book states that if you get smacked with the vampire corruption and you feed off an innocent sentient creature, you gain corruption. It also states that you have to feed on sentient creature or risk loosing control. I've noticed a massive loophole here. Do you just not risk any corruption if you feed off of low-lifes, scumbags, crooks, criminals and the general gaggle of baddies that adventurers generally go about beating the ever-loving crap out of anyway?

Every corruption has a loophole so you do not just have a strict deadline before you turn evil. That is the vampire's.

Feeding on criminals and other scum of the city gives you a clean slate as far as the corruption is concerned, even if the act gives a (sometimes literal) bad taste in your mouth.

and you still get it if you do it on a willing creature if what you are saying is true.

But you could suck all the blood you want from criminals and things like that.

Silver Crusade

The first line in Progression says Vampirism progresses when you feed off AND kill a sentient creature, while the later stages mention innocent.

So if the party donates (I.e. Willing) or you just feed on the baddies you should be okay.

Of course feeding off of the willing blood bank, does have the possibility of sharing your corruption with them.

Another gift that keeps on giving.

Good to know, I'm going to be running a horror game soon that might end up breaking the minds and bodies of the PCs. So I need to know everything inside and out.

All you really need to know is that the system is a framework and meant to be houseruled over. Find what works for you, your players, and your campaign.

I think that MS is appreciating getting fresh ideas from our admittedly warped viewpoints.

Plus its says creatures, so you don't even need to kill them. Feeding on a few innocent people for only some con damage is fine. I imagine its going to become quite obvious after a while that there is a vampiric person among the group but if the players already know, they can potentially limit the damage or risks.
