So, a bug was reported today on the Obsidian forums, that made me realize something - in RotR, the barriers Skinsaw Ritual, Skeleton Horde and Goblin raid don't have a specified 'defeated' condition. I couldn't find anything on the matter here and neither are they FAQ'ed as far as I can tell.
This matters in conjunction with the Swallowtail Festival closing condition. So, 'defeated' only if you defeat all summons, I guess?

There are two S&S locations which are similar - Fringes of the Eye, which requires you to summon and defeat a barrier, and Teleportation Chamber, which requires you to look at the top card of another location and use its checks to defeat.
I can't find an official answer regarding either of these, but the consensus on the forum (in this thread, for example) is that if the card in question can't be explicitly defeated, you aren't able to close the location.

Those barriers are banished after completion.
There is no check to defeat.
Not sure how this interacts with Swallowtail Festival.
I believe it would either be:
A) Run the barrier and then it is defeated.
B) It cannot be defeated. You do not close Swallowtail.
I'm leaning towards B.

Well, as written, it's obvious those barriers can't acquire 'defeated' status. Just 'running' them doesn't make them 'defeated', unless they're FAQed into working like that (which would be ok).
However, it makes no sense for them not to be able to acquire 'defeated' status. Higher tier 'summon barriers' already have such condition, and mechanically and thematically those seem close enough. Also, I think there was a bunch of FAQs already (for S&S and WotR cards) that add the ability to be "defeated", that show to me that Paizo would rather there be a determinant "defeated/undefeated" - even if those distinctions almost never matter for said cards. (An example is that beneficial "Treasure Hunt" S&S barrier - that I believe was specifically FAQed in conjunction with the Fringes of the Eye closing - and that seems close enough to the Swallowtail Festival case to warrant a look)

Skinsaw Ritual, Skeleton Horde, and Goblin Raid all say "None" under Check to Defeat.
Page 25 of the Wrath rulebook says "If the check is listed as 'None' and the power does not state the requirements to defeat the bane, the bane cannot be defeated." (This was added to the rules between the first and second printings of Runelords.)
