Either it was announced at GAMA today or there's some very fast photoshopping by twitter user UnclesGames: Slide announcing the hardcover.

Also, "pocket editions" of the Core Rulebook and Bestiary, it seems, and "Cooperation with Chaosium" on the Strange Aeons adventure path. Intriguing.

I'm gonna need to get bigger pockets.
My wife's pants have pockets.
They aren't REAL pockets, mind you...
Ninjaed, so to double down, fake pockets ain't right.

That ain't right.
My most favorite pants are my cargo pants with 7(!!!!) real pocketses.
Hmmm, I wonder if the magical child archetype has a hammerspace ability?

I still have my Tripp pants from high school, they don't have a lot of pockets but the ones they do have are DEEP.

Checking...
Nope. You'll have to pick up a handy haversack.

I'll be interested to hear how Paizo presents this publicly. They've had some trepidation on the hardcover AP front because they don't want people to think "Oh, I'm not going so subscribe now, I'll just wait for the hardcover" and subscriptions are their lifeblood. I wonder if they'll respond to that.

While I'm interested in what we'll be said regarding this book two stipulations have already been repeatedly stated. 1) Milestones and 2) If the original issues of the AP is nearly out of print.

Seriously doubt we would wait for 8 years to pick up new and exciting APs because it "might" be released in hardcover. I think it's a smart move my Paizo to make hardcovers of their 3.5 edition APs. No need to make hardcovers of anything after that, IMHO.

Also if you look, I bet you find that there are all or mostly out of print. I don't expect Second Darkness to get a reprint for awhile.

I wouldn't rule it out, except for the near future. Although Second Darkness will need more of a rewrite than a simple update and reprint, James Jacobs has gone on record saying that this is something that he would like to see done.

James wanting to do it and the management team agreeing to do it well the product is still in print are 2 very different things. :D

I'm still trying to wrap my head around what exactly the pocket guides are. It sounds like they will have all the same content as the Core book and Bestiary but will be considerably less expensive? Are these some sort of smaller sized paperbook versions with less (or even no) art and a reduced font size?

Cartwheels of joy here.
Curse has been my favorite AP for a long, long time... (Hell's Rebels is the first one in a position to bump it off, and I may just make them co-favorites)
I'm insane enough that despite having all six volumes of the original CotCT sitting on my bookshelf while I write this, I am TOTALLY snapping this up when it comes out.

I've never thought that made much sense, at least not with the 3.5 APs.
