So, leaving out any spoilers, I will be getting a chance to rebuild my magus for a Reign of Winter game, once a major event happens. This will happen at 6th level. Now, that being said, I am being allowed to completely rebuild this character.
I do intend to keep him as a bladebound/hexcrafter and as an elf. His weapon will remain a scimitar. I will have about 2k worth of gold to spend on magical equipment.
I will need some suggestions on how to go forward with the feats and arcana and such as well, but otherwise, let's go forward.
I have gotten the go ahead to be allowed wayang and magical lineage, so yay! That will allow Frostbite and Shocking Grasp. So...there we go.
Oh I understand that it is not entirely optimal, it has actually proven useful, as not everything has been immune to cold. It also fits, since he was once a resident of Irrisen. Also, the combination of the two spells reflects his personality (which is like a winter storm).
The other purpose is to be able to push on the debuffs rather than straight damage (since there is a ranger and two barbarians in the group).

This guide has a debuffing-focused Magus, including a sample build at the bottom. The Magus has a fair amount of save-or-suck spells on his list, it just requires a good int score and Spell Focus / Greater SF instead of focusing on maxing your damage.

Thank you, Kurald. Based on the fluff of this character (mother a jadwiga in Irrisen and father a militia man from Tian) would you suggest the use of Shocking Grasp in addition to Frostbite?
I've noticed we have a large group of PCs but are severely undergeared. Our damage dealers are a bow wielding ranger, a barbarian focused on DR, and one focused on the barbarian death curses.
How would you see this character, since he sort of represents the full fury of a storm in winter? His scimitar actually bears the soul of the Black
