If you're around online tonight, the Know Direction Pathfinder podcast is live right now with PFS OPC Tonya Woldridge as well as ACG Designer Tanis O'Connor!

If you hop on while the podcast is live, you can ask questions and have them answered on-air!

One might wonder why you agree to do an interview if you cannot answer any questions?
Seriously? Why, because she didn't give away the farm? What dire important questions were asked that she didn't or couldn't answer that you think she should have? She's been the OPC for what, a month? This was probably more of a "get to know you" interview than a "tell us all about the plans for the rest of this season and beyond." We're barely into the fourth month of the season, how much did you think was going to be revealed? Not to mention that technically Paizo was closed on Wednesday so the fact that Tonya and Tanis agreed to do the interview probably meant doing it on their own time. Hell, even John Compton was working on the holiday. Ya can't please all the people all of the time it would seem.

I thought that both Tonya and Tanis did pretty well. They answered questions in ways that they could without giving everything away but giving some teasers for the future. Additionally some of the questions asked by the audience added to the discussion pretty well and answered a couple of my questions (and some that I didn't even know I wanted answers to until they were asked). Obviously they can't give away some details as changes can still happen or may not be able to happen on the "schedule" they set out in an interview, so they play some cards close to the chest.

Non-constructive criticism of Paizo staff taking part in podcasts is probably the best way to ensure they don't take part in more podcasts in the future.
You're absolutely right. I shoild be wildly, Pollyanna supportive of every action.
Actually, I would have preferred she "politely decline" the interview until she was at a point where some of the fan questions could be answered. I understand the need for vague answers so as not to give away too much and generate excitement, but I felt these were too vague to generate any excitement.

I think with a month under her belt. This was a great way for her to introduce herself to the community at large and lay down the ground work for what she has planned. Now that we know what her plans are in 6 months when/if she makes a return trip to Know Direction we can look at her baseline. Then bombard her with the questions about secrets and how the plans she had have come together.

Nobody expects you to be. Nor should you expect everyone to agree with your criticism.

As one of the few people who consistently watches these bi-weekly interviews live, I can attest that Tonya and Tanis did a great job! These interviews are always a bit of a tease in terms of content, but they give you a chance to see the thought process and personalities of the people who are making all this possible.
Additionally, we did learn that:
-they are making efforts to cooridinate the subject matter of the Roleplaying and Card Guilds when possible.
-there are no plans in the forseeable furture to offer more than two scenarios a month.
-to be a Venture Agent your group must be open to the public.
-Ostog the Unslain would be making an appearence in the Card Guild in the next three months.
-there is an initiative to help kids learn to GM
-they are working on shorter introductory documents for both guilds
I'm sure there was more, but that is what is off the top of my head.
One disadvantage of them doing it on Twitch is that the comment stream gets deleted. There is usually some interesting additional information in the chat that only the live viewers get to see now.

Check the Know Direction Youtube page in a few days. We post the video footage from Know Direction live on Youtube.

Yes, Alex, that allows for new comments to be preserved, but the ones made during the show are lost. When they used to use YouTube for the original recording, all the comments were preserved.

For me you could sum it up with the response to the last question. "Give us one thing to be excited about the next few months?" Tanis thinks for a second then utters the words "Ostog the Unslain" She the drops the mic and walks off stage. Tonya follows that with "I'm going to revamp the kids' track." I guess that's pretty interesting too, just doesn't really generate excitement.
I have often listened to prior interviews, and I felt like this one gave me nothing. It was a stream of "I can't talk about this" answers. I wanted something to be excited about.

Thank you all for the feedback!
For a first podcast, I think it went alright. That being said, there is always room for improvement and feedback is important. I have loads of things running through my mind. Trying to put them in coherent order can be difficult at times. It is something to work on and improve. Maybe some form of "submit a question" before hand to help me get my thoughts in order.
@medtec28 - your right. Tanis had a drop the mic moment. Will think about it so next time I can do the same and give you something to be excited about :)
I appreciate all the commentary and support. :)
