Series of small questions about various classes.

Advice

Hey there, I'm trying to build some stuff for a campaign (I'm a player in it, not the DM) but having a hard time understanding finer points of some class effects. If anyone knows the details it'd be nice.

1. Dragon Disciple and Bloodragers. If I go Dragon Dec as a Bloodrager, would it continue the Bloodrager's bloodline or switch to the sorcerer's version?

2. Inquisitor Bane: If I built an inquisitor using a bow with rapid fire & many shot, would the bane effect trigger off every hit in a single round & still only consume one charge? I ask because the potential damage at level 7 is something like 8d6+8 from the Bane alone.

3. If you could Gestalt a prestige class, but not regular classes, what are some good combos one could think of?

4. If you multiclass from Inquisitor to Cleric, how do the domains scale? They scale together but would the cleric get the bonus spells as soon as they're capable of casting them?

5. Do Juju zombies keep the skills of the person raised? From what I can read its pretty vague, for balance sake I'm going to assume no, but I'm still unsure.

6. Is there an easy guide on how controlling/raising undead minions work? On the aforementioned juju zombie, I've considered making a juju oracle but have no idea how zombies/controlling them functions.

7. This one is random, but if I'm playing a monk and there is a regular sized explosive robot rat attacking: what is the type of check I'd make to punt it into an enemy?

1 - yes
2 - yes, it is for every hit
3 - no idea, I've never played a gestalt game
4 - you've got to use the same domains. They don't stack. You're a x-level inquisitor and a y-level cleric. You treat them totally separately from each other.
5, 6 - Not familiar with necromancy and I don't feel like looking it up to read it now, sorry :(
7 - Whatever the GM tells you to use. There aren't rules that cover using enemies as weapons. A bull rush would probably be the most appropriate, but that doesn't handle the damage part of your question.

4. Domains stack for powers, not spells.

Inquisitor wrote:
If the inquisitor has cleric levels, one of her two domain selections must be the same domain selected as an inquisitor. Levels of cleric and inquisitor stack for the purpose of determining domain powers and abilities, but not for bonus spells.

5. Yes, juju zombies keep the abilities of the original. It's not OP, because the number of undead you can control are limited by HD, so if you make stronger zombies you have fewer of them.

A juju zombie is an animated corpse of a creature, created to serve as an undead minion, that retains the skills and abilities it possessed in life.

Thanks, I didn't remember that part.

Gestalt prestige classes?

This kinda messes up the game as a prestige class is meant to build on a base class. Assuming balance things are taken (to fix +caster levels becoming higher than character level) into consideration.

1) Dragon Disciple with a Sorcerer. This gives you a great spellcaster/melee. I suggest going natural weapons, for the fun factor mostly.

2) Mystic Theurge, this would need some kind of balancing to make it work right, but it would be a lot of fun if you can make it work.

Arcane Trickster has some interesting tricks, Eldritch Knight gives you full BAB and lets you do some magic/melee mixing.

Keep in mind that Gestalt is NOT part of the Pathfinder rules set. It was made for a game where base classes on the whole were considerably weaker than their Pathfinder incarnations. By necessity the decision to use Gestalt mechanics is a homebrew choice.

And even in the original SRD text, the Gestalt package came with a recommendation that PrCs not be used with them.

Well, that is hardly any fun. I mean- he was just asking for hypotheticals, and that was just a shut down.

And really...he is talking about prestige classes. Those are kinda.... well... mostly dead. Paizo gave us enough incentives to go single class, and then added all the archetypes that did similar things... they are just not used much.

One of the few that I see suggested is the one that is pretty much built ENTIRELY around pseudo gestalt anyway- Evangelist.

If you ignore the problems of how gestalt inflates saves/skills/BAB (lets throw that out for this), and just let people grab some of the mechanics of a prestige class (like it was something to simply slot in- one free prestige class that you qualify for), then you could get some interesting combos going.

People might actually take more than 3 levels of Shadow dancer!

There would have to be caveats, of course, and they would have to be admitted on a case by case basis... but yeah, I could see this going somewhere.
