Mythic rules : Epic and Magic

Rules Questions

Some beasties have a DR XX/epic and magic (I may take one as a typo, not a dozen).
Which makes absolutely no sense to me.
Would someone please explain.

It's for things such as legendary weapons created via the Mythic Adventures rules.

Or more formally. Dr/Epic is bypassed with weapons of +6 or greater enhancement, or as classified as legendary or artifact status.

DR/magic is overcome by weapons with +1 or greater enchantment, which makes epic weapons a subset of magic weapons. Since all epic weapons are also magic, "epic and magic" is redundant.

I think technically a creature could have DR/epic which would allow its natural attacks to overcome another Creatures DR/epic but not DR/epic and magic.

I don't know that it exists, but I could see the possibility of a spell that was designed allow a weapon to overcome epic dr, but didn't by itself let a weapon overcome magic.

In most cases though if you can get past the DR/epic, you don't have have to worry about DR/magic.
