I wake up most days feeling achy, for no apparent reason. Improves as the day progresses. Probably should start doing yoga or some such to get the kinks out, but can never find convenient time.
Used to be A LOT worse when I drank diet soda. Then discovered after I stopped drinking anything with aspartame in it, I didn't hurt nearly as much. Now I don't touch the stuff. Figure my metabolism couldn't take it. Who knew?

I've had lower back surgery in 2004 and was in a major car wreck in 2005. The auto accident resulted in my left leg being broken in two places and having a steel rod and a plate with 4 screws placed inside to help the bone knit. I know my weight contributes to it, but I have constant back and leg pain now and have to take Norco almost daily to offset it. I'm disabled and draw a minuscule disability check. Sometimes getting out of bed or up from a chair is so painful it takes a couple of attempts. Oh, and I also have occasional migraines.

I was diagnosed with relapsing remitting MS about 8 years ago used to take daily injections but that has switched to a twice daily oral medication.
Seems to be fairly under control. Fatigue is the worst. Comes on suddenly and hits like a sack full of hammers. Basically done for the day when that happens. Cannot tolerate the heat anymore. Mowing on those 100 degree days is a no no.
Add in all the secondary effects: muscle weakness, coordination difficulty, loss of mental acuity and depression. I make it sound worse than it is. It's all presently manageable.
I just have to remember I am not twenty years old anymore XD.

I have cyclical light sensitive headaches, but I'm currently on the off cycle. When I do get them it's usually once or twice a week for a month. Sitting in the dark, wearing a blindfold, or (if I have to be active) a handful of aspirin and an energy drink.
The only pains I can complain about right now are sore hip/legs from walking alot recently, (started playing a GPS based game on my phone) and tooth pain from not having insurance or loads of extra money for too long.

I have never tried a blindfold before, hmm. But then again I don't think my headaches are actually caused by light. Asprin is out of the question as it is an NSAID. I also don't want to mess around with stimulants while I'm on this serotonin reuptake inhibitor, since I already know that citalopram and amphetamine salts interact to intensify the effects of the latter, and also has a risk of causing serotonin syndrome.
Also for soreness, I recommend rubbing a dowel (round stick) with firm pressure on the sore muscle. They also sell massage devices in sport stores that accomplish the same thing (little wheels on the shaft) with less work.

Ankles and feet are my problem.
I had a badly broken leg as a teenager. No permanent damage from the break directly, but the 6 months of immobilization has impacted my ankle.
In boot camp, on the other foot, I had a badly ingrown toenail. I had medics cut it out several times but kept coming back. Wouldn't go away for about 2 years, so that impacted my walking gait for a long time.
I've always enjoyed sports, so I still play basketball in my 30's. I enjoy it, but I've slowed my game down to avoid rolled ankles and (knock on wood) I've avoided them for a few years. Mostly now I just jam my fingers, which sucks but I can tolerate.
I want to do the Appalachian Trail, I'm just not sure my ankles and feet will hold up.

Speaking of ingrown toenails, I've had for years dermatillomania (compulsive skinpicking) which in my case manifests mostly as picking at my toenails. Severely. I pick the damn things raw and they become sensitive and pain easily. It's awful and I can't stop it, and I can't ever wear shoes that are tight on the toes because of it.

I thought I'd kicked my frequent severe migraines after being on a new medication for a few months, but this week determines that that was a lie. At least they're not as severe as they were?
Lack of sleep and stress are some of my biggest migraine triggers. Good thing a super-sleepless week and a half and a bunch of changes and pushbacks on a location change for work fell right at the same time.
But hey, at least the good folks of the Paizo boards make for quite pleasant company. :) Now, does someone want to come through the computer screen and help work out this kink in my neck?

I have ... tooth pain from not having insurance or loads of extra money for too long.
Be very careful on this, Scythia. From first-hand experience a tooth infection can and will kill you if you give it half a chance. I very nearly died from one and came almost as close twice more before getting that taken care of. Having a drip tube sticking out of one's chin with the resulting substance leaking out that smelled very similar to sewage was a brutal wake-up call.
I recommend knowing what is the best antibiotic for your system and insisting on getting that. My dentist at that time prescribed amoxycillin, which for the tooth infection was a giant dose of fertilizer. Not even getting totally sh*t-faced with booze gave more than a half-hour's respite from the brain-searing pain. Getting the infected tooth removed can be done on the cheap if you're close-ish to a dental school even if you have no insurance.
Rinsing regularly and often with saline solution - the kind most people use for contact lenses is often available in large bottles for cheap, although nowadays there may be other even less expensive packages of the same stuff. A good dentist can prescribe a particularly awesome mouthwash that comes in the same kind of brown bottle - only much larger - than hydrogen peroxide comes in. Best. Mouthwash. EVER! Oh how I wish that it was available OTC. That stuff is an order of magnitude or two better than anything else. Listerine is darn near soda by comparison.
From everything I've heard and what I went through, tooth infection pain is a contender for labor pain. Depending on who you talk too, it's worse than labor pain.

So in order to get back in shape (and for other medical reasons), I have radically altered my diet and started exercising regularly. So far about 35 pounds down (and I have boosted my calorie intake to maintain this weight for a bit so as to not have a ton of loose skin to deal with).
The weight loss is all well and good, but with the weight drop, I have found that there are a couple of seated positions that I had previously found to be comfortable that now cause my legs to fall asleep (one or the other, depending on the position, not both).
The pins and needles are driving me freaking nuts!!

I have experienced Hell's Itch.
Only ridiculously white people get it, and we don't get it all the time after bad sunburn...usually just a regular itch...but...
I have experienced MRSA three times, and I would've traded that itch in a heartbeat for MRSA. It is maddening. I am not exaggerating. I could not think straight. I know a girl who scratched until bleeding.
I would link you to an article on it, but it's not really recognized by dermatologists. Usually by the time you get to see a specialist it's gone. Google it. It's real. It is not a myth. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. I kid you not - this isn't "oh I scratched a lot" it's HOLY CRAPPY WHY DO I FEEL LIKE ANTS ARE BURROWING INSIDE ME OH MY GOD WHY IS IT GETTING WORSE WHAT THE HECK?!
...and yes, scalding hot until pain showers work. Kind of. Well, better than anything else. Aloe and lotions make it worse...
Oh, yeah, I've also had MRSA a few times, like I said. That sucks. Feels like your body is trying to explode from the inside just beneath the skin. My hand swelled to double it's thickness the first time, and I couldn't close my fist!
I'm so grateful to live in a time where medicine for that exists. I'd be dead if I were born even a generation ago! Although overuse of weaker antibiotics did lead to it's existence...

I have thankfully not had a migraine in almost a year. Not sure exactly what the trigger is for them (though I do know stress was a big factor from my old job ~8 years ago when I would get them on a regular basis).
The last migraine I had came with a new onset symptom. I actually saw a scintillating scotoma ... freaked the hell out of me at first (thought my toying around with various substances back in the day was making a comeback). It lasted about 15 minutes, saw the most vivid colors in a 3/4 arc running along the border of my vision (focused on the left eye, as when I closed that eye the effect lessened). Once it ended, the migraine kicked in, though was somewhat muted from what I had normally experienced (but it still sucked ... had to turn off the lights from the light sensitivity, the mini psychopath with that freaking icepick was poking the backside of my eyes, and the nausea was still present, though not as intense as normal).

Seriously. Every ginger, redhead, natural blonde, albino, or otherwise pale individual should know about this. It was the single worst experience of my adult life.

When I was on a trip in high school, me and a couple of my friends actually managed to get three or four toys out of one of those machines, with, like, five bucks. I've never replicated it, but it felt magical.

Even though I'm not (quite) forty, I get all the old people diseases.
Gout.
Shingles (caught early and no lasting effects, thank you to the PA at the walk in clinic).
Peripheral Vascular Disease
Arthritis in my hands and hip.
Mostly from genetics and having been pushing 500lbs (less than half that now) in my youth.
Oh, Pan, look into some support socks. They help immensely with foot, leg, and ankle pain and swelling from sitting down.

The last one I got was literally right behind my lip; the pain in my jaw was so terrible that I thought I was DYING.
Pro tip: asthma inhalers work wonders on those beggars. Spray directly onto the sore, simultaneously cooling it and helping heal it. My doctor was awesome when I used to get them frequently and even gave me a prescription.

That's interesting! I'll be sure to remeber that.
