Obscuring mist cast while flying - where is the mist?

Rules Questions

If I fly above ground level and cast obscuring mist, does it sink down to ground level or does it stay up where I am?

The reason I ask is because I'm building a caster pc who can see through fog, mist etc. but my party can not. So if I could cast OM up where it doesn't matter to them I would be hidden whithout hampering them.

Obscuring mist:
School conjuration (creation); Level cleric/oracle 1, druid 1, magus 1, sorcerer/wizard 1, witch 1; Domain air 1, darkness 1, water 1, weather 1
CASTING

Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S
EFFECT

Range 20 ft.
Effect cloud spreads in 20-ft. radius from you, 20 ft. high
Duration 1 min./level (D)
Saving Throw none; Spell Resistance no

DESCRIPTION

A misty vapor arises around you. It is stationary. The vapor obscures all sight, including darkvision, beyond 5 feet. A creature 5 feet away has concealment (attacks have a 20% miss chance). Creatures farther away have total concealment (50% miss chance, and the attacker cannot use sight to locate the target).

A moderate wind (11+ mph), such as from a gust of wind spell, disperses the fog in 4 rounds. A strong wind (21+ mph) disperses the fog in 1 round. A fireball, flame strike, or similar spell burns away the fog in the explosive or fiery spell's area. A wall of fire burns away the fog in the area into which it deals damage.

This spell does not function underwater.

Edit: And where would I be in the cloud? At the bottom so that (from below) I'd only have concealment because my feet are at the edge?

It's explicitly stationary, so it wouldn't fall to the ground. Where the bottom is, though, your GM would have to rule as to whether it just goes up from your position or also extends down. The spell just isn't explicit on how it'd work for a flying caster.

Radius should mean up down and all around. Same as the center of a sphere.

If its really an issue, fly upside down when you cast the spell.

The way it's phrased Obscuring Mists would seem to be a cylinder and not a sphere, so radius would not apply to its height. And yes, that does open up silliness like flying upside down or horizontally to manipulate the dimensions and positioning of the spell so I absolutely do not begrudge any GM who rules it's just a 20 ft radius sphere.

Thanks for the answers.
Seems it works but I have to fly a square (or in this case a cube?) up after I cast it. Not a big deal.
