Looking to play online for the first time. Need help on how to do that.

I am looking to play online for the first time and was hoping to find games with friendly people.

I have a new PFS character if I need it.

I have a roll20 account, but have no experience with the interface.

I have a google+ account, but again have no experience with the interface.

I have teamspeak with limited experience with it.

How do I get into games ect.

The Pathfinder Society Online Collective Group did not even acknowledge I existed. Perhaps they are full or not very active.

I think Roll20 has it's own 'looking for players' section on it's site, and the Paizo boards here have their own section for people looking to join together and start a game. GM's will post up that they're recruiting for play and players will 'apply' with their characters, from what I've seen. No idea about PFS, though.

PSOC is quite active, if perhaps a little less structured than you are expecting.

It functions in 2 ways
1) somebody will announce a game and then people just sign up. While the number of games varies there are usually at least a few each week.
2) somebody starts a thread looking for a game at a particular time. About half the time this results in a game, about half the time it fails to manifest.

Basically, you just wait. Depending on your schedule and what scenarios you have played you'll usually get at least one game a week.

To build on what pauljathome said, you may have run into the issue of first posts being blocked until admin approval is given. It's an unfortunate necessity to prevent spambots. If so, I'd suggest trying to create a post with a specific looking for game post that will make the admin aware you are a real person. James McTeague is the admin, you could also send him a PM on this website to request approval. It may just be a busy/time issue.

Many of the online game posts, at PFSOC or Paizo board, will include a link to Warhorn where the players actually sign up for the roster. Registering for those tables requires (a) setting up a Warhorn account, (b) registering for the specific Warhorn site (IronHelixx, PFS Online, etc) and (c) Clicking the <Play> or <Wait> button to apply for the individual game. Some newer players skip part (c) and don't actually get on the play roster.
