A flurry of monks!!

Rules Questions

A pretty basic question, and Im pretty sure im right, but just to be sure:

A lvl 1 monk, should have +0/+0 at his flurry, right? (Withouht str bonusess), because, acording to the book, a BAB of a flurry its equal to the monk level, but a flurry lvl 1 its -1/-1, so +0/+0, right?

Sooooooooooo, in lvl 2, it shuold be +3/+3, becase he is a lvl 2 monk (BAB for flurry +2) and the flurry gives +1/+1 so it would be +3/+3.

Does that makes sense? Or im the worst GM evah??

Thx in advance.

NO the listed bonus for flurry in the table is after the penalty from using a flurry and getting your level as your BAB.

Lv1 his BAB counts as 1 for a flurry, but then he takes a -2 to all his attakcs so -1/-1

lv2 his BAB counts as 2 for a flurry, and flurry gives a -2 to all attack rolls so it's 0/0.

I don't know how you got +3/+3 for lv2. what did you think gave flurry a +1/+1? Because a +3/+3 that would making him like the best hitter while using flurry.

No, the book is correct. Flurry of blows sets your BAB to your monk level +BAB gained from other classes. For a first level monk with no other classes this is +1. You then add an additional attack and apply the -2 penalty for using Flurry of Blows, giving you -1/-1. You then add ability or other modifiers.

level 1 monk attacks normally using a BAB of +0. It has a 3/4 BAB

when flurrying a monks BAB is treated as the same as it's level (or as a fighter if you prefer). So a level 1 monk flurries at a base of +1.

However flurrying is treated (in many ways, but not all) as two weapon fighting, so all attacks get a -2 to hit. This gives you a modified flurry of -1/-1 at first level.

Lvl 2 normal attack is +1, flurry is at +0/+0

So the book has already calculated the base attack and effective two weapon attack modifiers for you.

Now THAT makes sense, THX!

Now I understand flurry perfect.
