I hope everyone enjoyed Paizocon

Nihimon, DeciusBrutus, Goblinworks guys, it was great seeing you at the convention! I hope you all found time to attend Ponystock and say hello to Living Tombstone—his pony fanmusic really is catchy.

I greatly enjoyed the events you guys threw—I especially liked watching the guys from Equestria Daily explain the process of reporting on brony news and fanfiction, though I was sad to see that Erik Mona and Gary Teter didn't show up. Don't know if anyone else did.

I was also sad that nobody there seemed to talk about PFO. I guess Paizo's giving up on that. But Legends of Equestria was fun, even though it's just a fanwork. I guess Paizo's going back to cheaper, faster products. Fine by me!

It was great of you guys at Goblinworks to bring in Cathy Weseluck, voice actor of Spike the baby dragon and Mayor Mare. I'm not sure if you plan to have her do voice acting in the MMO or whatever, but it was still neat to see her there.

All-in-all, I wasn't able to find many games, but it wasn't so bad. There was Ponyfinder, after all. I tried to buy a goblin hat, but it has a horn for some reason. And the Pathfinder artwork, while more plentiful than ever, didn't seem very Pathfinder-y.

Good con! Hope you're able to get a few more GMs next year. And, hey, don't give up on PFO, okay? I know it's kind of lame compared to Legends of Equestria, but you guys just might make something kinda fun if you stick with it. Maybe ask the LoE guys for some pointers?

:)

WHAT DO YOU MEAN 'I WENT TO THE WRONG CON'?!

Is there an achievement for "most forum aliases?"

88 aliases. One for each key on a piano.

It was wonderful for us to meet KC in person. WoW!

It was great seeing you, Lam! In seriousness, this might have been my favorite con yet. I loved meeting all these forum personalities in person—it really grants a whole new perspective. For instance, whenever I read a post from Decius, I will imagine him stroking his impressive goatee and chuckling darkly to himself.

Also, just in case those who didn't see me are curious, here's a picture of me Nihimon took while I was there.

You have selected Best Pony. Golgotha will allow you to live another day.

While mentioned pony is indeed a great character, I find myself relating more to the partypony.

But more specifically, I could see myself as Drinky-Pie. Instead of the following dialogue:
"Pinky-Pie, you're a genious!"
"No I'm not, I'm a chicken! Bugawk!"

We'd see:

"Drinky-Pie, you'e a genious!"
"No I'm not...... I'm drunk......" *hic!*

I'm just going to throw this out here for the pony fans:

Friendship is Optimal, a tale of how a MLP MMO destroyed the human race and then the universe.

I couldn't make it to Paizocon this year, but I'm going to try to get there next year.

To the people who were there: How well attended was the PFO demo?

To the people in Alpha: Did you notice a significant number of convention-goers in game?

I hope Paizocon was a better PFO promotion opportunity than Cobalt Clover's pony convention.

Definitely during the earlier parts of the day, but into the late hours, it was only a few Alpha people (that were not already at Paizocon) online, such as Cheatle, myself, and a small handful of others.

That's good to hear. We already know there won't be a 100% match between PnP players and PFO players, but I think that a lot of PnP players still don't realize PFO exists.

I didn't get to meet everyone, but was glad to get a chance to talk to those that I did!

And if you like that brand of fanfiction, I'll recommend Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality.

The demo room was not open late and had to find hotel personnel to even unlock the room on Friday before they could setup the systems. Keys seemed to be held by the coffee shop, not hotel -- maybe I misunderstood, but it seemed more complex than the rest of the rooms. I did not. make it to the two rooms on 3rd and 4th floors, away from other operations, so I did not see all the craziness.
Still it was a great time for me!

Do you want me to post picture I took, the one with green, hmmm.

I'd love to see pictures of the Paizocon attendees; absent meeting people, knowing what folks look like is the next best thing.

Hmmm... that hat.... weren't you in Men in Black III?

I had fun at Paizocon! I got to try Skulls and Shackles! Even though I died :( I got to talk to quite a few people about PFO and pointed them in the right direction to check out the game! I also played at home with some of you that couldn't make it to the con! We need to play more often because I get lonely running around killing goblins by myself :(

I had an image of Bonny stalking through the Goblinworks halls taking out devs one by one but I'm guesssing she was talking about in-game.

Playing the marathon Runelords ACG with the designers and Lisa playing Ranzak! was the most fun I've had in a while.

I missed the con..but love your alias KC. My favorite part was the "painted squirrel skulls"...priceless.

My wife and I very much enjoyed playing with you playing Ranzak!

Ranzak smart? Ranzak smart!
More stuff? More stuff!
Ranzak talk? Ranzak talk!
More stuff? No more stuff :(
You help find Ranzak find stuff!
Ranzak wize? Ranzak not-so-wise :(

Extremely entertaining, and made a very durable impression on both of us :)

I learned that from Lisa. She was much more aggressive about passing monsters off on others than I was, but she tried to hang out with Valeros (who could handle most combat without taking cards out of hand).

Painted squirrel skulls were actually loot I got from a goblin in Midgard: The Goblin Brewery. :)

Besides spending some time in the PFO demo room, I did the Monster Bash which was fun, played a few PFS games and tried the Skull and Shackles ACG Demo. Lots of fun all around.

And, of course, I learned my Ranzak from Tannis O'Connor, the ACG Org Play Designer. I'd like to think that I added to the Ranzak legacy. I enjoyed Ranzak so much, that I decided to play him in our home campaign of Runelords.

It was awesome being able to play the ACG with so many of you!

It's so cool to random find people speaking well of an adventure I wrote. KC, I'm glad you liked the painted squirrel skulls.
