How many times can a ring of force shield be turned off and on in 1 round? For example would you allow someone to turn it on, run past someone and draw an AoO, turn it off and use their weapon 2 handed, then turn it back on?
Can someone use a 2 handed weapon while it is on? Can someone fight with 2 weapons while it is on?

Free Actions
Free actions don't take any time at all, though there may be limits to the number of free actions you can perform in a turn. Free actions rarely incur attacks of opportunity...
Turning the ring on or off is a free action, so the answer is... as many times as the GM thinks is reasonable.
EDIT: When the ring is 'on' it's like wielding a heavy shield - so you could TWF with the force shield itself (via a shield bash) and a weapon in your other hand, but couldn't use a two-hander or use that hand for anything else, really.

I had a fighter that I used a bastard sword. So on his turn he'd shut off shield, two fist his sword and power attack away. then at the end of his turn, he'd reactivate the shield and sword and board when it wasn't his turn
Which I, as a GM would have considered a clever use.
Honestly the ring of force shield isn't that great for it's price so I would allow the OPs trick to work.
