Couldn't find a generic Q&A for this one, so my apologies if this has been resolved already.
How are incremental alternative favored class bonuses intended to work.
I mean those which are gained per level by +1/2, +1/3, +1/4 or +1/6.
Can you take the listed bonus before you have the listed class feature it affects, if you would have the class feature when the increments reach a full effect?
For example, could an Elf Magus get an extra magus arcana every sixth level (gained at a pace of +1/6 per level), even if he or she doesn't have the class feature until 3rd level? As per sé having +1/6 at 1st level would be rounded down to +0 so it wouldn't give you anything until 6th level anyway, thus being somewhat useless until that point.
Do I even make any sense :D?

No, when choosing which class feature’s effective level to increase, you can only select a feature that you already have. For example, an aasimar flame oracle cannot choose to improve the wings of fire revelation with her favored class bonus until she actually gains the revelation at 7th level or beyond; she could not start augmenting it at 1st level. This isn’t actually a new rule. It’s just a clarification that I confirmed with the design team because it seemed that some folks were assuming otherwise.
Note the ooc where he says he conferred with the designers (of the Pathfinder System). This isn't just a PFS ruling.

No offense meant, but I'm well aware it's a clarification to the rules in general, which is exactly what I was looking for. But thanks for pointing it out if someone else did wonder if it was :)
