You have to be patient as a RotRL game will appear later.And follow the GM's character creation rules, to the letter, when you apply in the recruitment thread. You may or may not get picked for it as it is popular and this applies to any PBP game.
For now I would recommend not focusing to have RotRL as the first game to get in. As some GM will be looking at your recruitment history, your character alias histories, character formatting, writing style, .. etc.
So get the experience you need by getting into other games, no matter how full they are as some GMs will give rookie players a chance.
Avoid focusing on using Summoner at all as most GMs find it broken as heck. Also avoid min-maxing as it is a turn off for some GMs as they'll see you as a ROLL-player and not a ROLE-player.
I'm in the same boat. I GMed the AP in a rl game until the party TPKed at Xanesha and the campaign fizzled. I'd prefer to play a fully martial character. Maybe if we drum up enough interest in this thread a GM will emerge. I'm currently GMing Shattered Star 1-on-1 for a friend and would love to fill in some of the background. I'd also be interested in CotCT and Second Darkness.
