Metallic Feathers

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Not sure where to post this, so I put it in general discussions.

Is there a monster, somewhere, that has metallic feathers? I can't think of one. I'm gonna see if I can find one, but just in case anybody knows off-hand I made this post.

If there isn't one, I could just conjure one up as GM, but it'd be more fun if it's actually one that exists in the books.

There's several types of angels that have metallic wings (and from there metallic feathers are an easy extrapolation). Aasimars with proper feats taken can take those as well.

Gate Archon

Scarab Sages

There's the Stymphalian birds of Hellenic fame - I don't recall whether Pathfinder's integrated them into any of the bestiaries yet, though.

I think the original Gorgons might have had metallic wings in some versions of the myth, too (wings, definitely, metallic, I'm not sure about).

For some real fun, of course, you can get Aasimar PCs with Metallic Wings!

Paizo hasn't, but Frog God Games has.

Depending on the myth, from some of the ones I read they had bronze wings.

The Stymphalidies appears in Pathfinder Bestiary 3.

Yeah, Medusa's sisters in the myth were described as having bronze wings.

Any aasimar with the correct feats.

They are in the back of the second book of Council of Thieves

Obviously any of the flying Inevitables, like the Arbiter or Lhaksharut, but those outsiders are almost entirely metallic. Not sure if you wanted a seeming 'normal' creature with only metallic wings.

Ah, didn't come up in my search because of the slightly different name! Nice to know there's an official version! Oh, and a swarm version! So lots of options, depending on what CR you want.

Why do you need the creature to have metal feathers, if I may ask?

Fanboy of the X-Man Archangel? It would be my reasons.

Naw, it's probably just for some really firm pillows or a nice abrasive feather-duster.

An Angelic Guardian is a construct with brass feathers. And brass everything else, admittedly.

Thinking about that from one angle, a template like Clockwork Automaton could make feathers metallic.

From another angle, a template like half-celestial could give creatures wings, and from the above and from aasimar we know that the colouring can be metallic. Also some of the originals have metallic wings, e.g. Legion Archons.
