Paizocon 2014 event scheduling

PaizoCon General Discussion

Scarab Sages

I just wanted to pop out this thread early because last year there were some issues related to getting new events onto the schedule. I intend to keep watching the site for info, but I just wanted to make sure that I'll be able to set up the 3rd annual Jousting competition as well as another couple of events that I'm planning for Paizocon 2014.

If there's anyone I and other event organizers need to bug (or at least stay in touch with)please let us know here.

We're waiting for the staff events to get mostly nailed down before taking 3rd party submissions. Its definitely on my radar to do though for this year.

Thanks!

Sara-

Just checking in for an update on 3rd party events. I've got at least two that I want to set up, one game and one panel. There may be a third which is a game. PM me if you need details.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Working on things. Haven't forgotten, but not ready yet.

Any updates. I have a non pfs game I am thinking about scheduling

I have a rough draft of the employee schedule. Things are progressing but I do not have a timeframe for further details at this point.

Just sent off content for a Paizo Blog with details for event submission. It should be up this Saturday :)

Does this mean that we'll be able to sign up as players shortly afterwards?

No guarantees on when exactly, but some point in May or June we should be running the selection process and lottery.

Well, the Midgard/Kobold Press events are in. Here's hoping they all make the cut.

Thanks, Paizo!

The 3rd Annual Jousting Comeptition was also submitted. Hopefully we'll have a good slot this year.

Just to give you an idea of where we are at, I'm reviewing 3rd party events now! Thanks to everyone who submitted events!

Thank you Sara! Really looking forward to seeing the event list of all the good stuff you'll be having for us this year.

43 business days... sounds even better, I can make it
9 weeks... sounds better yet, I can make it

Is it too soon to start the slow clap or the chant of "reg... is... ter"

I am incredibly happy with the way the 3rd party events are rounding out the staff events. The schedule is looking really amazing and I can't wait to be done with it, mostly because I think people are gonna like what they see!

54 3rd Party events have been submitted. Now comes the REALLY fun part... playing 4-D Jenga to fit as many as possible into a short little 3 day convention :)

Would it help to print all the events of actual Jenga pieces?

Dark Archive

Any chance of finalizing/ announcing the events this week or is this 4D Jenga actually a game of dread with the screams of," No one touch the table...I mean spreadsheet!!" Being heard throughout the office.

I'm almost done with my part. It will need some tweaking and approval after that but it is currently my top priority.

Scarab Sages

Paizo really needs to publish some rules for 4-D Jenga.

I check back everyday, can't wait for the lottery!

will there be an email to those who have already purchased passes? How long will the lottery run?

I have the final schedule pretty much locked down and I am *almost* done getting events entered into paizo.com. Tech team is reviewing lottery code in preparation. We have an email scheduled for when the lottery goes live.

I am really, really excited about the schedule this year. I keep entering events that I am super jealous I can't play in :) I think there are somewhere around 125+ various and sundry events crammed into 3 days.

I've determined its actually 5-D Jenga with each dimension having multiple facets to consider.

Sara: if you get a time-turner, you can play in all 125 events.

I'm wrapping up entering the last few events. We aren't quite ready for the Guest of Honor announcement so I need to go back and redact some names and add in some TBAs. Robot Chris and myself are hoping to have the event list up this afternoon sometime.

So, uh, I guess that means it's too late to get my games into the schedule?

Sorry - 'twas meant to be a joke. I just decided this week that I was definitely running a couple of games there this year.

OK, it sounded funnier in my head.

I 'll still be running the games, just in open gaming rooms. (Probably Aberdeen. I think I spent 2/3 of the con last year in that room. :)

Yea Sara. Go Sara Go!
F5 - still no announcement. Hm.

Go Sara Go! =)

There was a slight technical issue leftover from last year's events that is stalling things. The tech team is currently in an unrelated meeting and as soon as they get done they should be finishing poking and prodding the data.

Love the TBAs! Should have said [redacted]'s [redacted] of [redacted]. ;)

I apologise if I am not looking at this right. I cant see anything about 5-18 on the list of events. Is this correct? (ie not 5-19, 5-20 and so on).

I think I'm seeing a little discrepancy with my PFS GM schedule and the event schedule. Hopefully any changes made will be updated to us before we get there.

Should I mark anything in the lottery for my own event? It says 'volunteer event' and looks like it is marked with a 1 (cannae remember if I chose the one or it was already there :P )
Does the open-events sign up show 'you are busy at this time' or has that feature gone?

Looks Like I will be GMing during most of the seminars I wanted to attend, but there are a LOT I WANT TO ATTEND!

Looking forward to this, only a month to go :)

Lantern Lodge Customer Service Dire Care Bear Manager

You do not need to mark yourself for your own event.

Liberty's Edge Contributor

Sara Marie, I'm a little confused. The two events I'm running currently show that the maximum number of attendees is 2 and that the event is full. My event should have a maximum of 6 players.

There's a comment in the event description that says, "Number of Seats for lottery placings is 2. The remaining 4 seats will be available during open registration." Unfortunately, if people only look at the number of available slots on the right-hand side of the screen, they won't know they can sign up for it.

Is there something I'm not seeing correctly or does this need to be fixed?

Thanks!

On the matter of Crenshaw's games, it shows his "Profit of the Prophet: A Wayfinder Magazine Adventure" game has three slots left, but my schedule isn't updating when I try to add it.

EDIT: Having the same trouble trying to join "Mayhem in Midgard: Black (13th Age)", which should have one slot left.

I'm just as confused about this. I think my brilliant plan of saving seats for Kid's Badges by altering the seats before and after the lottery didn't go as smoothly as planned. I've fixed Profit and will be fixing the other one (plus the Beginner Box games).

I think it was a brilliant idea, too. Hopefully you'll be able to get things working properly.

I must say that I'm glad the reservation of seats was intentional. I was afraid that my idea had just been really unpopular.
