After being enlarged from medium size to large size, what is the new reach with a whip?


I think this should be asked in the form of a multiple choice question. The answers could be one of:

A) 15ft (no change)
B) 20ft
C) 25ft
D) 30ft

A poll would have been awesome here.

I may have been a little obtuse in my first reply. There are quite a few discussion about this very topic.

The reasons for the different options are as follows:

A) 15ft - The whip has a specific reach specified in the weapon and there are no rules to change this specific reach. So no matter what the size, a whip will always reach 15ft.

B) 20ft - This one is what our friend the Balor uses. It's the whips normal reach + 5ft for being bigger.

C) 25ft - This one was a red herring. Ignore.

D) 30ft - A whip is a "triple reach" weapon. And your reach doubles when you grow in size. So the reach of the whip should likewise double to 30ft.

Is there a correct answer? I am unsure. Since by strict RAW, A is the answer. But B has a monster example and is how all the other weapons reaches are calculated. But on the third hand, most people (including JJ) find D to be correct.
