Interesting to see this thread necro'd.

The Brawler makes this feat a decent choice for Martial Flexibility.

or the martial master fighter archtype.

Some feats are meant for NPCs. You know, the kind of characters that take levels in warrior and will never see a +6 BAB and gain extra attacks.

Vital Strike is one such feat. It's there more for the GM to use than the Players.

pretty much anything with access to rage (for furious finish) can make the vital strike lines worthwhile (so barbarians, bloodragers, SS paladins with rage subdomain, viking fighters, that one ranger AT, etc.). as they largely need only one feat to function--that being power attack (raging vitality or steadfast personality are nice, but still optional)--so they've got room to spare for it, since their class features cover any other weaknesses they might have for the most part. slap on a big base dice weapon (i use an impact-enchanted greatsword or large-sized bastard sword) and you're golden.

anything big with only one attack (like the iconic tyrannosaurus or ultrahippo) can certainly benefit from it, especially with size shenanigans.

anyone in a game where DMs love to properly use things like terrain, cover, tactics (kiting enemies and the like), and other impediments to full-attacking can make great use of it.

while certainly not the most efficient method (compared to say, archery--though both have about the same feat investment to function), it is fairly good.

though by RAW pummeling style (until it gets errata'd to only apply to unarmed/monk/close weapons) currently blows it out of the water...

It makes me wish Warpriest could take Domains and Inquisitions the way Inquisitors and Clerics could.

Warpriest with Rage and the Vital Strike chain would be an absolutely vicious combo. Combined with fighter levels for bonus feats, etc, it all of a sudden becomes phenomenal for one hit wondering enemies and maxing out damage, especially if you're using something like a falchion and getting 2D6 or 2D8 damage with it, not counting if you're large sized (then it' 3D8). Combine that with Greater vital strike, Furious Finish, etc, and suddenly the warpriest is a cannon.
