Medium, Heavy Armor and Lame curse

Rules Questions

Lame

One of your legs is permanently wounded, reducing your base land speed by 10 feet if your base speed is 30 feet or more. If your base speed is less than 30 feet, your speed is reduced by 5 feet. Your speed is never reduced due to encumbrance.

At 5th level, you are immune to the fatigued condition (but not exhaustion).

Now when you wear heavy armor you speed is reduced by 10 ft. due to encumbrance. Would lame negate that?

"At 10th level, your speed is never reduced by armor"

The Lame curse specifically states how it interacts with armor. You do get the speed reduction at level 9 and below, and you do not at level 10 and above.

Heavy armor reduces your speed by 10' (actually, by various amounts depending on your base speed)due to being heavy armor. Encumbrance is just weight, which the armor might contribute to, but - you don't reduce armor move penalties with Lame until 10th level, when Lame says :

"At 10th level, your speed is never reduced by armor."

Under the additional rules it tells you what your speed would be reduced by. If you have 30' movement the first disability drops it to 20 and the second 15. If you have a 20' it goes to 15 and then 10.
