Hey everyone,

I know I have been quiet recently, but the Online VO team is busy planning some exciting things that we will release in the very near future.

In the meantime, I want the Online Community to help celebrate a very important holiday that happens on Sept. 19th: Talk Like A Pirate Day!. In order to help celebrate this most amazing of Holidays, I encourage ya landlubbers organize tables of the following scenarios:

- 4-15: Cypermage Dilemma (1-5)
- 0-2: The Hydra Fang Incident (1-5)
- 0-8: Slave Pits of Absalom (1-5)
- 0-20: King Xeros of Old Azlant (7-11)
- 2-13: Murder on the Throaty Mermaid (1-5)
- 0-17: Perils of the Pirate Pact (1-7)
- 0-22: Fingerprints of the Fiend (7-11)
- 1-38: No Plunder, No Pay (7-11)
- Any PFS reportable portion of the Skulls & Shackles AP

And for every scallywag GM and rapscallion player who participates in Online Play, you will be entered into a chance to win some booty: a PDF copy of Pirates of the Inner Sea.

In order to join me crew and win yourself this prize, have your GM e-mail the event number and session number of the game to PFSOnlineVOs AT gmail DOT com so we can verify and generate the list of everyone who played. You have until Monday, Sept. 23 at 12:00 PM EST to submit the information.

Ya best be on your way and plannin' a game. And don't be so greedy, let others in the Community know about this chance. Otherwise I'll have ya walkin' tha plank to sleep in Davy Jone's Locker.

I've already got me Pirates of the Inner Sea, but I will be jumpin' board this ship anyway if I can, runnin' me some nautical-themed modules to draw in some online lubbers to a watery grave. (Or a succesful mission completion. Whatever.)

Awesome initiative, I'd love to start up one of these games for this event! Would simple PBF games be eligible to participate in this though?

How do I participate via PBF?

Sovereign Court 4/5

Me wife will be away that day so I may spend it online with all ye scurvy dogs (and lasses)... at least until work beckons...

Lantern Lodge

Perhaps we can start the PBF games now and end by 23 Sept?

You really gotta motor if you want to do that. While I think it's possible to finish a PbF game in 3 weeks, and I suspect there are some that do that, it's going to be very rare. It's a factor of 4 faster than the typical ones I've seen.

Not a problem for me. The PBF regulars post pretty often and since we'll be targeting Season 0s, I don't expect combat encounters to drag. 23 Sept is quite doable. I already have 3 players indicate interest, which meets quorum to form a table. Once the VC gives the go ahead, we'll kick off.

Hopefully the VC will respond quickly.

Shadow Lodge

I love this! I hope this works out and we get more themed events.

The Exchange 4/5

If your PbP can finish by the 23rd at 12 PM EST and you send in the e-mail, go for it!

Liberty's Edge

Yarrrr!! I'll be boardin' one o' them 1-5 ships if I be spyin' 'em! I'll be takin' to the high seas o'er the land any day!!

Silver Crusade 2/5

Joseph do you think we can get get 05-01 added to the list? It is very much nautical, and kind of sort of fits the theme.

Shadow Lodge 4/5

I shall run the first book of Skull and Shackles (Sanctioned Content Only!)

It's super easy, no danger at all... a total cake walk, players never die (sarcasm). Yet, it still is fun. My homebrew intro is that VC Darta Darleene sends the adventurers on a mission to get in good favor with the shackles pirates clearing an isle for their kings new summer home. The home's name of course will be called Argghhhhh Abbey.

Argh! Why be so few pirate scenarios since season 0? Are we pirates a dyin' breed?

Would From Shore To Sea be a reasonable addition to this list?

Full disclosure, I have not played, GMed or read FStS, so I have absolutely no idea whether it has any connection to pirates...beyond the preponderance of (salt?) water.

I'd be happy to see it added whether it did or not, and under that premise wouldn't view its inclusion as a pirate-y spoiler of any kind! To me, anything that requires sea legs is a viable candidate! Talking / RP'ing like a pirate is a state of mind that doesn't require buccaneer plot-lines or opposition to enter. :D

As an aside, it might be a hoot to play Doom Comes To Dustpawn with the pirate genre added on top of, or instead of, the outer-space genre! If anyone wants to try this, copious amounts of grog are strongly recommended! :D

Liberty's Edge

Since this be a Thursday can we be puttin' t'gather som'thin' late night. I only be plunderin' when the moons up. ((10pm CST or later))

Sovereign Court 4/5

I'll know my work schedule tomorrow, which will determine which games I can run or play. Will let everyone know somehow.

Well this is definitely something I'll be willing to do. I'm new to PF PBP. But done a fair share of RL PF. And some other PBP RPGs. I'll be making a couple different characters for this. So if any GMs need somebody creative and interactive, I'm in. And I can post quite often.

Silver Crusade 4/5 5/55/55/5 RPG Superstar 2013 Top 8

I haven't done Fingerprints of the Fiend, or played any Skull & Shackles (though I have run almost all of it for a home game). I'll keep my eyes out for those.

Cool, one of my player won the draw! :)

Thanks for organizing this event. There will be plenty of other opportunities for more, I'm sure... Halloween horror/undead theme? ;)

I thought there was only one PDF to win; that’s even greater there is so much; thanks to Paizo for being generous!

Glad one of my players made it. In fact I wonder if one player (GM included) on each table won a prize. I think there was more than 7 games though…

Concerning future event, it would be good to also consider non-american festive events; there’s plenty of culture on Earth and it’s always good to discover new things. Another greater idea would be to pick on a Golarion date/festival and make something out of it. Many major deities in Golarion have holy days described in the books. The Day of Bone (5 Pharast/march) is a good example, and might be a good opportunity to promote ghost stories.

Lantern Lodge

Wow! Thanks! One of my players won a copy too! Woot! :D

20100, I was the generous one here (I purchased the PDFs for folks). I wanted to give the community something because I know we couldn't mobilize a gameday in time. It will be much easier now that we have the tools and the ability to mobilize people for large-scale gamedays. Things are finally coming together and I couldn't be happier or more excited for it!

That is dedicated of you! Thanks for pouring your energy, passion & resources into online play. (And just ignore the grumpy voices who don't appreciate it... ;) )

We will be doing it again this year.

More information will be forthcoming as the TLAPD representatives reset their website and send out the information for this years event.

4/5 5/55/55/55/5

Yay!

Certain Ninjas just like to get to be a Pirate once in a while :)

Silver Crusade 3/5

Subscribed to news, because I plan to do something alike in my LFGS.

Yay! because we all know Pathfinder water is the safest! <sarcasm alert>

For those without their Touch 'o the Sea anyways.

Well holler if you hear! :)

I've got two GM's, a venue (Ok its outdoors by a nice river, so not hard), sausages, beer, and a bunch of crews ready to go - just need to know if this is a go'er so I can book the scenarios :)

Unsure on what you be waiting on, but it seems they have updated the site relatively recently. This year's Talk Like A Pirate Day is on a Friday, so perfect timing. (Just a shame it's not a day later. The 20th is our local game day this month.)

Also, don't forget to visit your local participating Krispy Kremes dressed as a pirate on September 19th for a free dozen!

I intend to run 00-17 Perils of the Pirate Pact this year.

But I also want someone else to run it. - so I can play it.

4/5 5/55/55/55/5

For my last pirate day (which wasnt part of the above TLAPD) it was Perils of the Pirate Pact and also Hydras Fang. I built all the ships as 3d cardboard models and the battlemap was on a large blue tablecloth. Looked great!

Will have to see what scenarios are up to choose from this year so I can get building again, harder this time as I will have to build a couple of sets of each. I can smell the hot glue already.

Silver Crusade 3/5

I will run 00-17 Perils of the Pirate Pact this weekend as home game.

And I will start Skull & Shackles campaign as PbP on friendly Russian-speaking forum to rise awareness and recruit more players in PFS

Should I specifically report to some special event this activities or its ok me reporting them directly?

4/5 5/55/55/55/5

I don't think theres any specific event, its every Pirate crew for themselves! :)
I know my group is having a four table fun stuff of Slave Pits and Cyphermage.

Just report as usual.
