We're pleased to announce that we've teamed up with Ultra PRO to create play mats for all your favorite characters in the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game! Each player using a character mat receives a special perk: Once per game, at the start of your turn, you may discard a card to draw a card.

Mats will be sold in two packages. A 7-mat set, priced at $19.99, contains mats for each class in the Pathfinder ACG Base Set, while a 4-mat set, priced at $12.99, contains mats for each class in the Character Add-On Deck.

The mats go on sale at Gen Con 2013 next week, and will be available at retail and at paizo.com in the near future.

At Gen Con, visit Paizo's booth #203 & #403, or Ultra PRO's booth #1611—See you there!

Can't wait to see what these look like!

Welp, there's one thing that some of my GM store credit will be going toward! :-P

Important question regarding these... will they fit easily into the PACG Base Set box without causing issues with cards fitting?

On one hand I have to say I am against the game play perk associated with using the mat, on the other, GIMMIE GIMMIE I need them so BAD! :)

The notion of these did not exist when the box was designed. That said, you can certainly add them on top without affecting how cards fit at all, though the box lid will probably sit a bit higher than without them.

Cool. I just wouldn't want them to bend any cards if the box moves around too much or anything terrible like that. Obviously it depends how heavy they are also.

Any idea of a release date for the playmats? I wasn't able to grab them at Gen Con.

I was able to pick up my PACG box and expansion at Gencon, but didn't know there were play mats until I sat down with an old friend I ran into who had bought them! By the time I got back to the Paizo booth they were gone! When will these be available for sale? Will they be sold at FLGS?

We actually just signed the UltraPro license less than a month ago, and they knocked themselves out getting a short run of mats ready for the show.

They will be available at retail in a few months; I don't think *anybody* know exactly when yet.

Thanks for the info, Vic. Can you tell us a little bit about the mat layout?

We just started playing the game last night, and the first thing we've noticed is that it would be good to have specific locations marked for a player's discard pile and character deck. (I guess it would also be good to have a place marked to place the character card.)

In the meantime, I'd like to find card trays with three slots for storing those piles. If anyone has suggestions for where I can find something like that, I'd appreciate the help.

Would there be any chance that something like this would be included with the card game subscription (when they're in stock, that is) or do I need to watch the site and grab them when they appear for sale?

Probably the latter since many subscription players probably picked them up at Gencon.

I was at Gencon and these things sold out fast! By the time I got there to pick up my subscription copy they were gone.

Hopefully we'll see them up soon, not 'months' from now.

Will we see more of these as new characters are introduced?

They all have the same layout and you can use one with any character card, but it's fun to see the great artwork.

Any chance we can get a .pdf of the mats to hold us off until the actual ones are available?

Hope these come into stock sometime soon. I'd like to pick up a complete set.

so... what's the latest news about when these puppies are going to be available to buy (and if they could be part of the subscription)?

I hope that these will not be part of the subscription. Not only am I not really interested (although that might change) but I am afraid they come with a hefty shipping charge to European countries.

If they become part of the subscription please release them in a month without an adventure pack release. That way I can cancel my subscription for that month.

We don't yet have a date from UltraPro. We'll let you know when we do!

They will not be part of the subscription.

Thanks for the answer!

Hi Piazo
Just had a look at the Ultra Pro Website, they list the playmats. Just wondering if or when they will be available for sale, must be soon. Please update.
Thanks Dale

We currently believe that they'll be out around mid-November.

Vic
Thank you for the update

can't wait! i was just thinking about these today, actually! :)

can you easily erase any writing on the mats?

The UltraPro mats are more like mousepads—they're not intended to be written on.
