Missile Shield vs. Pinpoint Targeting

Rules Questions

So does Missile shield work against a Pinpoint targeting attack?

Pinpoint targeting: As a standard action, make a single ranged attack. The target does not gain any armor, natural armor, or shield bonuses to it's Armor Class. You do not gain the benefit of this feat if you move this round. So you can make the argument that logically if the shield doesn't count towards AC, the shield shouldn't be able to be used to block the ranged attack.

On the other hand Missile Shield states: You must be using a light, heavy, or tower shield to use this feat. Once per round when you would normally be hit with an attack from a ranged weapon (not including spell effects, natural attacks, or massive ranged weapons), you may deflect it so that you take no damage, as if you had the Deflect Arrows feat. You must be aware of the attack and not flat-footed.

SO, just looking if anybody has a definite ruling on this or if it'll be left up to the DM's discretion.

Missile shield wins. note that pinpoint targeting let you ignore the Shield AC bonus, but not the shield itself.

In this instance, the shield might not be providing any AC bonus due to your pinpoint, but the pinpoint doesn't make the physical shield object disappear. The shield is being used to basically bash the arrow aside.

Note that missile shield specifically calls for a ranged weapon that would have hit you (and it would have, thanks to the pinpoint targeting), but because you physically deflect it, it doesn't hit you.
