dipping out of slayer

Advice

Hey all

So im playing a slayer for the first time and i am thoroughly enjoying it. However as i look over the class i see that the capstone ability is a bit lackluster. Got me to thinking that i might dip a level, maybe 2 levels. Hell maybe a few levels or a prestige class if its workable.

We are playing a devil heavy campaign in the world wound. The gm has hinted that the game will go all the way up to the epic levels. My slayer is affectively the party rougue since im doing the scouting, traps and locks.

Stats wise corbie is lvl 6. High str&con, moderate dex and int, wis 12 and cha 9. Hes gone down the twf style, he's going thunder and fang for s%##s and giggles.

Fluff is also important to me as a player. Corbie was kidnaped by devils as a child (guardian mythic path). He then ran away and wanted never to return. He found a home at a temple of Iomedae, he despiratly wanted to be a paladin but couldnt (not lawful good lol). One of the other pc's (an iomedae cleric) took him under his wing and corbie serves the goddess by protecting him. The cleric has gone on a mission to the worldwpund and so he has followed.

So id be interested in dips that round him out mechanically (better will save?). Spell list might be good for wands. Or somthing that actualises some of my fluff/backstory.

Any ideas?

Barbarain/bloodrager is a nice idea with your high con and str. Inquisitor or warpriest could be good for tying into the religion idea (your mental stats aren't great for this but you have enough to cast a little).
Investigator will get you an inspiration pool, some auto apply to all your rolls. and 2lvs of Emperisisct archetype gets you int to a lot of good skills.

Sovereign Court

If you don't mind switching to daggers or some such - a two level dip in Knife Master rogue wouldn't be bad.

You'd grab evasion, a rogue talent, and all of your sneak attack would go up to d8 so long as they're made with daggers. (or something else on the Knife Master list.)

I don't have time to go into it now, but here is my build dipping 2 levels of monk. He has been a lot of fun making use of grabbing and snapping turtle styles.

So, most campaigns don't make it to 20 so you shouldn't focus on your capstone. Focus on the fact that by delaying your slayer levels you are delaying that obtainment of improvements to your studied target and access to ranger combat style feats and other abilities that your class good overall.

Unless you have a clear picture of what you want, don't dip just dip. Don't dip just because you think that the 20th level of the class is weak, when chances are you will never get there. I understand what your GM says, but honestly many a campaign has been promised to go to epic levels...until a year and half later and the GM is worn out and the campaign has drug on.

So before you going dipping into something else, have a clear picture of what it will provide to you and how it will help before you do so.
