I was just searching for some paper minis to use with the PFS scenarios.
While i have the pathfinder beastiary pawn box, i often prefer other paperminis. I saw that for 2 of the sanctioned modules, crypt of the everflame and masks of the living god paper minis exist.
Then i had this idea.
How about just adding paper minis of special characters that appear in each scenario to the scenarios? That would be pretty awesome.
I´m aware of the fact that there are space issues, so alternatively you could offer them as a download, either in sets or better yet as a very small low price pdf that can be bought with the scenario.
Also you could do a set of recurring monsters and villains.
People who don´t like paper minis don´t need to flame now. After all, a paper mini is better then no mini.

I actually just picked up the Rise of the Runelords Pawn Collection, specifically so I could have some more character pawns than just using monsters from the Bestiary Box. I'm really happy with those!
I'm guessing that it would be a ton of extra cost for art, but I like having character art from a scenario. One of our GM's around here will print out the character portraits from the scenario itself and place it on the table. At least that way there's some sort of visual reference. Then I can just use Ameiko for everyone I like, and Warchief Ripnugget for everyone I don't!

Who hate paper minis? If you are rich enough to have every mini I need then sure let me use them. If you have to improvise and someone complains tell them to correct the issue or hush up.
The only Issue I have are DMs that refuse to use a map because they do not have the minis and you have to guess everything.

I love paper minis and I love this idea.
I like using paper minis because I can almost always find a mini of the NPC/monster I need. So much better than generic plastic minis (Dwarves!), doesn't break you out of the game by placing something jarring (rock counters) or silly.

I can really sympathize with the map issue. I usually use the map, but sometimes if I think the layout of an encounter is going to pretty straight forward I'll forgo it. When I'm GM or playing with a person using templates I always throw down a grid for them and at least use bases for enemies so I can drop their fireball without toasting everyone.
One of my most frustrating experiences was playing a caster in a final encounter of a module with no map. I respect the person who was GMing it and love playing with him but not being able to see where things were positioned was simply frustrating. There were also some tactical errors the party made which I think could have been avoided with a map.

The map thing is out of the question, especially if you look at it from a scientific point o view. It´s one big chunk of information less our limited brains have to compute. Especially for newer players this is a great help, because everything suddenly becomes very plastic. Paizo makes a good job on the maps too and i try to print out scaled maps from the scenarios whenever i can.
I know some people who don´t like the paperminis and prefer plastic or other minis. But you can´t put those in a pdf and they are much more expensive.
Just think that would be the icing on the cake if there were scenario specific paper minis along with the scenarios. There are so many artists around here, i´m pretty sure they would be really happy to jump on that train. Look at Callous Jack or the others, especially Ashton Sperry (also known as N`wah here).

Right, the thing that bugs me about that set is that it involves folding them sideways. I prefer the templates used by i heart print and play which seem more stable. Also, yours is missing the
crocodile that could be summoned at higher tier and the two rangers from A3.

For some time I wondered what you were talking about. Then I realised that the google docs preview doesn't show rotated images in word documents. When you download the document the minis fold vertically and have room for a base.
I have added a comment to the top of the file and reuploaded it.
Also I didn't include common minis. Feel free to add them. There are a lot of uncommon creatures in this scenario.

Are there other companies that make pawns? Ideally Id like some Brigands. Someone linked me to Cardboard heroes.. but I fail to see how I can get a cardboard hero when Im buying the pdf and printing to my normal paper stock. Is there a company that makes pawns that would fit into the Paizo bases? Im thinking Id like as close to their bestiary box thickness as possible.

If you have at least one pawn set and haven't thrown away all the bits of extra cardboard you could cut those up into small strips with a utility knife. Then glue them onto the bottom of the paper minis and they fit in the same bases.
Note that this idea is untested and comes with no guarantee. Not liable for fingers severed or glued.
