Question: Beast Rider Cavalier & Paladin

Advice

Lantern Lodge

Kinda new to Pathfinder, so i have a question. If i have a beast rider cavalier, and want to gain traits in paladin, do i lose the special mount or are there feats in order to be able to keep the mount?

The idea is to have a ranged paladin on top of a good dragon Obviously at higher levels. In the old system (3.5) there were dragon riders. Unless I'm missing something in the new systems.

Ask your GM. The rules aren't clear on which mounts are available if you take multiple classes with the mount class feature.

Does Paizo officially have a dragonrider class/PRC?

If I understand what you're asking here, if you multi-class Cavalier/Paladin, your paladin level (assuming you have the divine bond class feature and chose the mount option) would stack with your cavalier level to determine the total level and abilities of your mount, since they're both treating your character level as your effective drui level for determining your mounts abilities and such. The paladin-specific extras would only be gained at the appropriate paladin level. I believe the book Knights of the Inner Sea has some alternate mounts which include dragons, though I believe it requires you to have the Leadership feat to choose from them.
