Sash of the War Champion

I'm intrested in a situation where a lvl 1 Fighter is wearing it. Mind you, not a lvl 1 character, but a multiclass character (say a Fighter/Rogue) who has one fighter lvl. If he wears it, he's treated as a lvl 5 Fighter for the purposes of Weapon/Armor Training, does he now gain those abilities or no?

I was thinking about the same for my Char, but since on level one you don´t have those abilities i would say no. Only extend what you already have, else it would be a wondrous item bestowing those abilities and should be much more expensive because its actually granting feats/ abilities.

Just like the Gloves of Dueling it enhances a class ability that you already have, but it doesn't give you the ability in question. You'd need to be Fighter 3 to benefit from the item.

Instead of asking the same thing, is there any reason why a Sash of bladebla would grant a level 1 fighter/level ?? anything else abilities it doesn't(but potentially might) have, or would it need to be a level 3 fighter in order for the sash to improve the abilities it DOES have.

Sash of the war champ:

This bright red strip of cloth, stitched with images of a cheering crowd throwing garlands toward a chariot, fits across the wearer's shoulders and then diagonally down his chest to reach his opposite hip.

The wearer treats his fighter level as 4 higher than normal for the purpose of the armor training and bravery class features.

You need to have the ability for it to be improved upon. It wouldnt't give a level 1 fighter armor training.

If you take a fighter archetype that swaps out Armour training and bravery (like polearm fighter) does the sash still grant +4 levels worth of a boost to the swapped in class features?
