Subscription Shipping Options

Can someone confirm for me that I understand the subscription shipping options correctly?

Subscription shipping options:

Quote:

Hold for monthly shipment

Ship my subscription products once a month, so I'll pay only one shipping charge.

Means that everything gets bundled together and ships when the AP instalment is ready (and that this is not necessarily monthly, despite the explication) including all pathfinder, gamemastery and pathfinder battles subscriptions.

Quote:

Never hold anything

Ship items as they become available and I'll pay separate shipping charges for each item.

Means that all gamemastery and pathfinder subscriptions still get bundled up and shipped together (when an AP instalment is ready to go) but that the pathfinder battles subscription will be treated as a separate shipment.

.
Is that right? I'm nervous about the second option, since the option as I understand it is what I want (send everything together except for the pathfinder battles cases) but it kind of reads that I'll be shipped any old item as soon as it arrives (so if the AP is held up but the next flipmat arrives, I'll get sent that immediately).

Can someone also confirm that, should I choose to utilise the "Use any available store credit for my subscription orders" option, it will also be applied to my pathfinder battles subscription? (This seems pretty obvious, but it's going to be an awkward oversight if it's not actually true...)

Steve,

Your understanding is correct.

The Hold for monthly shipment option means that everything that is released in your set of subscriptions in a given month will all go in one shipment*, for one shipping price. Occasionally there may be a month where there is nothing released for a particular set of subscriptions, so anyone with that set of subscriptions will have no shipment for that month. On rare occasions, but was the case of March this year, there will be a month where nothing is being released in any subscription. This means that there is no subscription shipment for anyone at all. We try to avoid this, but it happens.

The Never hold anything option means that we will ship everything as soon as it is released. The important factor to remember here is we now release all of our products in a given month at the same time**. This is so much the case that the only people who even see this option are those with both a Battles subscription and another (Paizo) subscription. The Pathfinder Battles miniatures are not a Paizo product, however, and therefore the release date for this line is dictated by WizKids, not us.

Therefore, to get what you want (that is: The Battles minis shipped as soon as they come out, and everything else together), you should select the Never hold anything option. The reason this option is worded so vaguely is to leave it open for future growth. Presumably, if we were to ever offer a subscription to another non-Paizo product***, then it would also have a separate shipping date.

If you select to use any available store credit for subscription shipments, it will all be applied to all subscription shipments, regardless of their providence.

Thanks,
cos

Note that "one shipment" can be made up of more than one package, depending on the shipping method, weight, destination, etc.

**:
This was not always the case. We used to not have the capability to hold the release of products, we had to start shipping things out as soon as we got them for various reasons. However we've improved our processes in such a way that we can now hold stuff for as long as necessary to make sure everything goes out at the same time.

***:
Please note that I am NOT giving some sly hint at an upcoming product here. It's simply that we always try to design features with expandability in mind, and to leave future options open. Frankly, I'm not really in the loop for upcoming stuff, due to the fact that I primarily deal with issues relating to released products. Well, that and I can't keep my mouth shut.

EXPLOSIVE RUNES! BOOM!!!!

Cool, a sly hint! Thanks, cos.

I won't let them know it was you that let it slip.
