A Conversion Project - Shackled City to Pathfinder

So my idea is to do a complete conversion of Shackled City to the Pathfinder RPG rules. Updating all NPCs, combats, traps, monsters, items, spells, etc. to use the Pathfinder RPG rules.

This is a major project and may take some time for some of the more intricate stuff but I feel is something that a lot of people will appreciate being done.

My last idea is to do a conversion into Golarion, finding a place to put it in the world (I have read that Sargava or The Shackles are good places), converting deities, and other world specific stuff.

I first wanted to see if there is actual interest in this conversion and if anyone is willing to help with it?

I was thinking of doing this anyway so yeah I can help you stat out some NPC's. I do think we should decide on a statblock format so they are all universal.

Do you have herolabs?

Is this stat block ok for you?

sample statblock:

UNNAMED HERO CR 1/2
Male No Race
Medium
Init +0; Senses Perception +0
--------------------
DEFENSE
--------------------
AC 10, touch 10, flat-footed 10
hp 0 ()
Fort +0, Ref +0, Will +0
--------------------
OFFENSE
--------------------
Spd 30 ft.
Melee Unarmed Strike +0 (1d3/20/x2)
--------------------
STATISTICS
--------------------
Str 10, Dex 10, Con 10, Int 10, Wis 10, Cha 10
Base Atk +0; CMB +0; CMD 10
Feats

Yes, I do own Hero Labs, so the stat block from that could work. Also thank you for your interest in helping.

So my goal is to compile all of the info that we work on into either a PDF, a Google Doc, or a Wiki, or maybe a combination of them. And I am going to try to get all the information organized by chapter, that way it is easy to find and use along the hardcover book and the magazines.

My next question is where would you prefer to compile the information? Here on the boards? A website? Another forum? Something else?

I think we can use another forum that allows unlimited editing, but I will have a copy on my PC so I can make it into a downloadable pdf.

As for forums, Enworld or Giants in the playground could work unless you want to do it somewhere else.

I think doing it by chapter is a good idea, and having the stats listed in alphabetical order in the actual pdf document is also.

I have open office(free online) so I can turn a document into a pdf. This also allows for the pdfs to be released by chapter, and at the end I can just combine all the documents together, and then convert them to one pdf.

Yeah, I have Microsoft Office plus other forms of editing software, as I have a publishing company that is just starting, so that isn't really a problem.

Though I was thinking that the Chapters would be organized by sections so that it is almost a mirror of the actual material. Since the plan is to convert more than just NPCs (I also want all other areas converted to make it really easy to run it using Pathfinder), it might be easier to follow.

And as for the Golarion specific stuff. I am thinking that could be a separate PDF or series of PDFs that detail the conversion to the setting. That way those that want to play in Golarion can (which is what I wish to do at a later point).

Which forum do you think would be best? I haven't used either of the two suggestions much (I have been there but haven't posted much).

There is not much difference between the two forums. They are both PhP based. How do you plan to convert the sections other than the number crunching part(characters and traps)?

Putting sections within the chapters as they are in the book is a good idea though.

I would also like to do the Golarion Conversion as a separate pdf.

Back to the forums. I just flipped a coin so I guess it is Giants in the playground unless you wish to use another one.

Not so much non crunch stuff, but some spells, items, traps, creatures, etc. have changed and I want to bring them up to date or change them to make more sense. Such as changing the class of some NPCs to a more fitting Pathfinder one, etc.

OK, so I am on the GitP forums. Where should I post the thread up at? Or do you have that taken care of?

Here is the link.

I have asked the others to not post in the thread until a later date. I just hope they cooperate.

OK, I am there and have made an initial post. We can always have others help if they wish, the more the merrier and the faster it can go to completion.

ok. I will edit my post then.

It seem their server just went down so I will post my question here for now.

How do you plan to convert the sections other than the number crunching part(characters and traps and spells)?

Do you want each of us(anyone participating) to do a section, and then have it checked over by the other contributors?
As an example we could each do an event section.
For the dungeon however, due to the size we could each be assigned certain rooms.
edit:The website is working again. I have posted over there.

If this isn't dead in the water, I would like to assist. I'm currently running the AP in Pathfinder (about half way through chapter 2), and I'm realizing just how underpowered the CRs really are as is. As a first time GM, I could use all the help I can get!

I just registered at GITP, and I'll see you over there!

I have a lot of conversions done for the first half of the AP. I adjusted mine to my party. I lurk at GiTP, not registered there at the time being. I can help, but I really don't want to remember another password. PM me and I can show what I've done so far.

Any progress with the conversion?
