Good: I was able to do a simultaneous "one-click" application for every open job position at every Home Depot store within 20 miles.

Bad: the "one-click" application was 12 pages long, included a 72-question self-assessment at the end, and took me over an hour to complete.

Good vibes.

Dad is back in the hospital with multiple infections and lung issues, but he is not ready to go, and he is showing the fighting spirit to back it up.

I hate seeing him dying, and I hate to see him go.

It's a horrible catch 22.

You all take care.

Well, it's officially too late. We've made a clear connection between Shakespearean comedies and Final Fantasy villains.

That settles it... when I go, it want it to be fairly quick and hilarious, like something out of an old school Daffy Duck or Wiley Coyote mishap.

I am not familiar with a "one-click" application (though it certainly sounds like it took far more than "one-click") but good luck, I hope one or more of those positions come your way.

With choices like those, it's hard to choose wrong. I vote Risen 2.

(Risen is very enjoyable, thank you again)

I am switching between Risen 2 and LOTRO. NWN 2, and both Witchers need to wait, with the later waiting to be downloaded and installed.

You enjoy LOTRO, I take it? I've actually never tried it. Maybe I should.

Orthos, I'm sorry to hear. Here's hoping she pulls through.

BT, the same for your dad. He's fighting. I can't put into words how important that is.

Finally, my phone is finally off(bad timing to put that in there...), and I am incommunicado via phone. Will let everyone know when new phone has arrived.

Package received. What I will do with four pairs of boots?!

Anybody got a major household appliance delivered from Sears lately?

Not happy right now.

I've bought 2 fridges, 2 washers, and 2 dryers from Sears in 11 years. Today I received fridge number two.

Always it was customary for them to haul the old one off. If I wanted to keep it I'd keep it. Derp.

So today, 3 guys show up to deliver one fridge and can't haul the old one off because "it's not in the paperwork." So we try to call Sears, but they rush out, my wife hands them the phone because she has customer service on the line and they "get disconnected." So, instead of being done with this whole fridge thing, customer service is going to see if they can come back today and get the old fridge, then they'll call me back, otherwise I can call back tomorrow and schedule a pickup.
For the old fridge that they customarily just hauled off.
Which would take......5 minutes for 3 flipping guys to slap on the back of a truck.

Now, I've bought 6 major flipping appliances from these guys in 11 years. I'm really not feeling like my business is appreciated.

Owell, I guess I'll go buy myself something nice with the tip money.

That, ladies and gentlemen, is how to lose a customer.

I've bought my recent appliances from Best Buy. I get reward points and they still haul away the old stuff. I haven't been to Sears for ages.

My family uses a local shop. They ask when you're ordering your new appliance if you want them to take care of disposing the old one.

The local shop isn't always cheaper, but they've always had excellent service.

Howdy. I am now in the midst of my less-than-24-hour stay in Seattle. Somehow, getting here turned out to be one of my smoothest traveling experiences, which was fortunate, since we touched down in Seattle 45 minutes before my meeting time. Made it with time to grab a coffee first, even.

Well, here in Poland (and probably most other EU countries) it's the shops obligation to take away old appliance while delivering a new one, unless the customer wants to keep the old one.

Ah the self assessment test, is this the one where they ask you the same 5 or 6 questions 10 different ways?

Nah. It was about half "rate X quality you have on a scale of 1 to 5" questions, and half "what would you do if this happened at work" questions.

The way it's *supposed* to work is that you can select multiple job positions and apply for them all at once. However, this implies some sort of... speed in the process.

Speaking as a former Sears employee, they can eat a bag of dicks. No one gets trained (or paid on time, for that matter), and OSHA violations are rampant. Their new products are junk, and some of the stuff they advertise as being new is actually "refurbished" (A.K.A. sort of cleaned, with the dents pounded out, and not actually fixed in any way). Basically, nothing works, nobody gets paid, no one knows how do do things, including the managers, and everyone is basically just waiting there to get another job. There's a reason that Sears is the only job I've ever quit.

I do know up here Sears has changed their policy regarding takeaways- I think you get charged for them now, but they also don't automatically take them away either, you have to ask. I know that taking things away is considered a package deal when there's a sale on something- the takeaway of the original item is part of the sale.

Nonsense.

Although I saw a picture of the actor recently- he has aged VERY well. Looks VERY distinguished.
